ASIAN FILM AWARDS ACADEMY
The Asian Film Awards Academy (AFAA), a non-profit organisation, was founded by Busan, Hong Kong and Tokyo International Film Festivals with the shared goal of celebrating excellence in Asian cinema. Aiming to promote and recognise Asian films and its talents, AFAA highlights, strengthens and develops Asian film industry through the annual Asian Film Awards and several year-round initiatives.
Our year-round events and programmes are held with the objectives to promote Asian films to a wider audience, expand the film market within Asia, and build and sustain connections among Hong Kong and international film professional. Masterclass Series – in conversation with filmmakers, Journey to the Fest –Student Visit to International Film Festivals, Asian Cinerama – Film Roadshow, and Young Film Professionals Programme – overseas training and work-placement, are examples of our year-round programmes. These programmes could not have held successfully without the financial support of Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDAHK), formerly known as Create Hong Kong, and Film Development Fund (FDF) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. The AFAA has worked to promote, educate, inform and develop knowledge, skills and interest in Asian cinema among the industry, students and audiences in Asia and beyond with the support of film festivals and cultural organisations.
HONG KONG FILM GALA PRESENTATION
The Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation, presented by the Asian Film Awards Academy, with the financial support from the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, formerly known as Create Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Film Development Fund, is a touring film programme that showcases the exceptional creative talents of Hong Kong filmmakers to diverse audiences across different regions. Our mission is to establish strong relations and bring together film professionals from ASEAN countries and Hong Kong for an in-depth discussion of the art of cinema and collaboration. Since 2021, we have been to international cities such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Phnom Penh and so on.
亚洲 电影大奖学院
亚洲电影大奖学院是由釜山、香港及东京国际电影节共同创立的非牟利机构，旨在对国际展现优秀的亚 洲电影作品。学院致力于推广和表彰亚洲电影及业内人才，每年均会举办亚洲电影大奖及多项活动，以 加强业界发展，并向世界各地宣扬亚洲电影文化。

「香港电影巡礼」由亚洲电影大奖学院主办，文创产业发展处及电 影发展基金資助，致力推动电影和文化交流，展现香港电影业的魅 力及优秀的电影人才，让各个地区的观众继续探索新世代的香港电 影，以推动香港电影业的持续发展。
「香港电影巡礼」提供平台让各地的电影业界与香港电影人共建更 紧密的合作关系，并汇集来自亚洲地区的电影专业人士与香港电 影人深度讨论。自2021年起，亚洲电影大奖学院已在曼谷、吉隆 坡、雅加达、金边等多个国际城市举行活动，让观众一同感受香港 电影的感动、创造力及多元性。
CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (CCIDAHK)
The Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDAHK), established in June 2024 and formerly known as Create Hong Kong, is a dedicated office set up by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau. It provides one-stop services and support to the cultural and creative industries with a mission to foster a conducive environment in Hong Kong to facilitate the development of arts, culture and creative sectors as industries.
FILM DEVELOPMENT FUND (FDF)
The Film Development Fund (FDF) was first set up by the Government in 1999 to support projects conducive to the long-term development of the film industry in Hong Kong. Since 2005, the Government has injected a total of $1.54 billion into FDF to support Hong Kong’s film industry along four strategic directions, namely nurturing talent, enhancing local production, expanding markets and building audience. In the past, FDF has supported a number of film productions and other film-related projects through various film production funding schemes and other film-related project schemes.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Anselm CHAN Mou Yin is a renowned screenwriter within the Hong Kong film and television industry, an up-and-coming director, and a member of the Hong Kong Screenwriters’ Guild. His directorial debut film is Ready O/R Knot and the second is the sequel Ready O/R Rot. The Last Dance is his third film.

Albert LEUNG is a stuntman who has appeared in numerous Hong Kong films and directed several independent films. At the 5th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival and Hong Kong Microfilm Awards’ creation support scheme, Albert was appointed as director and his previous works have been shown as part of PiFan’s IT Project financing programme. Other works include Jinn, Time Stopper and Escape, which was awarded at several international film festivals. Albert served as a B-team executive director in 2019’s iQIYI television show Lovely Swords Girl.
Herbert LEUNG has over 16 years of experience in television and short film producing and directing. Herbert, with his art design background, tells compelling short and long stories. Herbert has produced several short films such as Gloomy Sunday and Blind Spot, which received international praise at various film festivals.

Sam was the undisputed king of stunt choreography during the golden era of Hong Kong action cinema in the 80s, infamous for over bearing and demanding. After a devastating stunt accident, Sam steps away from the industry. Now, his old friend has persuaded him to work as the stunt choreographer on his last film. The only catch is the film stars Wai - Sam’s former stunt crew member who has since become a famous action star. By chance, Sam crosses paths with a young, ambitious Long, and asks him to be his assistant. Long is caught between the rivalries of the two and at the same time helps Sam to reconcile with his estranged daughter. Sam must confront his past and mend fences with Wai in order to deliver an epic final action spectacle for the director’s swansong.

CHUI Tze Yiu was the Creative Director of global advertising agency Leo Burnett, and had worked at multiple international companies under the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (4As) of Hong Kong. Before 2012, he primarily worked in the advertising industry, where he had handled advertisement creatives for over 20 international brands and enterprises, and had won numerous global awards. In 2012, he ventured into the film industry, serving as the executive director and screenwriter for the film One Night in Taipei. In 2017, he was the art director for the film Fearless Neighbours, which was shortlisted for the Cannes Film Festival competition. Currently, he works at One Cool, participating in film projects as a screenwriter, producer, and director.

Johnny MAK was born in 1949 in Hong Kong. He began his career in the entertainment industry as an actor and production assistant at Rediffusion Hong Kong. He quickly rose through the ranks, producing several successful TV series, including Ten Sensational Cases. In 1981, he formed his own production company. He produced several films, including the critically acclaimed Lonely Fifteen, To Be Number One, Sex And Zen, and Lord of East China. For Long Arm of the Law, he won the Best Director Award at the Golden Horse Awards. In the 1990s, MAK shifted his focus to business in China. His last work as a writer, director and producer was Island of Greed in 1997.

In the lower depths of human societies, the Dirty Rats, or Big Circles are lurked in the shadows of society. Their leader Tung has a perfect plan for a “job” in Hong Kong. In 48 hours, they are to cross the border, rob a jewelry shop and then get back across the border. Tai helped them with a condition but then abandoned them to go to the police. After the “job” is done, police arrive. Tai is killed and they go to the Kowloon Walled City to find a doctor for seriously wounded Block Head. Can these Dirty Rats have another chance? Or, are they really doomed to sanguinary failure?

Set in the eighties inside the dangerous and enigmatic Kowloon Walled City, which was a de jure Chinese enclave within British colonial Hong Kong, Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In follows troubled youth CHAN Lok-kwun as he accidentally enters the Walled City, discovers the order amidst its chaos, and learns important life lessons along the way. In the Walled City, he becomes close friends with Shin, Twelfth Master and AV. Under the leadership of Cyclone, they resist against the invasion of villain Mr. Big in a series of fierce battles. Nick CHEUNG, a distinguished Hong Kong actor and director, began his acting career in 1989 with the film Thank You, Sir. He then appeared in over 30 television dramas. Transitioning from television to the silver screen, CHEUNG initially made a name in comedic roles. His breakthrough came with Dante LAM’s Beast Stalker, which earned him 7 Best Actor awards including but not limited to Hong Kong Film Awards and Golden Horse Award. Psychiatrist Dr. MAN is skilled at extracting the deepest secrets of his patients. One day, he encounters CHOI, a cab driver, and finds his condition deeply disturbing. A few days later, CHOI has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and MAN quickly realises that CHOI struggles to differentiate between dreams and reality. MAN is determined to get to the bottom of his story. As CHOI’s story unfolds, MAN begins to experience disturbing and perplexing dreams. Are his night terrors a result of repressed memories, or is there a price to pay for uncovering the ghosts hidden in CHOI’s closet?
