Britain’s first ever Muslim woman head teacher, says that Prime Minister David Cameron has ‘shocked and saddened’ her with his controversial claims. Award winning Bushra Nasir, CBE, who came to England from Pakistan when she was eight in 1960, has spoken out following the announcement of the Government’s latest scheme to invest £20 million funding into English classes, targeted at ethnic minority women. Mrs Nasir, named Head Teacher of the Year in 2012, said: “I have no problem with what David Cameron says about the need for people to learn English, but am angry at three things he has linked his claims with. “The links he made to radicalisation, deportation and the fact he has highlighted only one small group of people – Muslim women.”
