Fire Safety

1. Hotels are doing even more to make sure guests are safe from fire. We have smoke detectors and automatic sprinklers. Take time to read and familiarize yourself with fire safety and escape information.

2. Find the two exits nearest your room. Count the number of doors from your room to the exits. The room layout is posted on the back of your door. Make sure exits are unlocked and unblocked.

3. Learn the layout of your room and how to unlock the door in the dark. Put your room key and a flashlight close to where you sleep. In the event of fire, take your room key (and nothing else) with you.

4. Locate the fire alarm on your floor. If you find a fire in your room or somewhere else, sound the alarm.

5. When you hear the fire alarm, act, don’t investigate.

6. If the fire is in your room, get out and close the door. Once out, report the fire to lodge personnel and activate an alarm at an exit.

7. If the fire is not in your room, leave if you can. First, feel the door. If it’s cool, open it slowly and go to the nearest exit.

8. If your room door is hot, don’t open it. Your room may be the safest place to be. Call the Front Desk or the fire department and report the fire and your location. Seal all cracks with wet towels. Shut off fans and air conditioners. Signal at your window for help and wait to be rescued.

9. Crawl low in smoke. Fresh air will be at the floor. If you encounter smoke or fire at lower levels, turn around and use another exit. Take your key so you can return to your room if you can’t use the exits.

Safety & Security

The safety and security of your personal property are of concern to us. We urge you to take advantage of the following suggestions.

DO NOT LEAVE MONEY OR VALUABLES IN YOUR ROOM.

Under state law, the hotel is not responsible for loss.

DOUBLE LOCKS AND/OR CHAIN LOCKS

Please secure the safety chain lock or the bar lock.

ADMITTANCE

Do not admit persons to your room without first making identification. A “viewer” is provided in your door for your convenience. If there is any doubt about the person’s identity, please contact the Front Desk.

KEYCARDS

Please make sure you safeguard your keycard. Be sure to leave it with the cashier upon departure. Do not leave it in your room or in the door. Do not give your keycard to others.

These recommendations are to be construed only as suggestions. Each person should use their own judgment.
