ILLUSION

In every context and for various diverse points in space, events occur in domains absolutely distant from the centre. The notion of simultaneousness however, does not apply to these events. In some contexts an event occurs earlier, in others it is the other way round. But there is one context where two events can occur simultaneously.

FLYING JEWELLERY

Flying jewellery is an hommage to the brave men who sacrificed their lives in the name of unrealized dreams. I admire the strengh of their will and faith. The clearness and consistency of their vision. Do these apparatuses really fly? To what heights can the imagination fly?

EUCHARIST VESSELS OF ST JOHN S CHURCH, TARTU St John s Church in Tartu has repeatedly suffered during periods of war. The building, which was originally constructed upon oak rafts, has gradually been sinking so that even today the surviving southern wall leans outwards quite noticeably. There are no clear, geometrically pure forms in the church. In the course of each restoration and reconstruction both the interior and exterior of the church has been altered according to the fashion of the era. The church building with its curved and slanting walls and partly revealed red brick constitute the basis for the design of the Eucharist vessels. These bulks and forms have remained in place for centuries. The chalice emerges out of an arch, the flagon out of the space between the choir room windows, and the paten out of the royal gallery. The items are handcrafted from silver and gold. A trace of a hammer can be seen on the surface of the material the touch of a hand, the natural part of the work. 2005
