I have invested rigorous effort and time in the five-year architectural curriculum of Syracuse University and graduated with the Bachelor of Architecture degree on May 2016. I attended to the SU Abroad London program in Spring 2014. I had internship opportunities in Istanbul during the last three summer vacations. In my final year, I successfully presented my thesis project “The Ottoman Han: Recovery of a Lost Typology and received acknowledgments from the Thesis Prize Jury and ACC Meeting of the Minds Conference in the USA. The academic curriculum, discipline and offerings of Syracuse University have shaped me to become an architect who can create, design, build and self criticize. ASLI B. GERMIRLI

URBAN GLOW
London, UK
Recreational centre design proposal to create awareness for the pollution on the Thames Tideway Tunnel with its natural glowing landscape. Project highlights innovative use of Biolumenescent Bacteria that consumes Methane. -
Methane from the waste facility is transported via tubes in order to feed the Vibrio Fischeri ST. PAUL’S bacteria. The moreCATHEDRAL methane the more it glows. The facade will consist of layers of glass and a feeding tube system.
Waste Methane When the River Thames water enters the bacteria facades, the more polluted the water is the less the bacteria will glow.
A layer of SBM zeoloties is placed in order to collect the methane. Zeolites are unique structures that can be types of gas separations and storage applications because of their diverse topology.

There are over 2.5 million cars in London. 5% of the smoke released from every car is methane.
An air suction fan will intake the polluted air and transport the methane through the tubes , in order to feed theVibrio Fischeri bacteria in the facades.
