STEAM is the abbreviation for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math. An integrated approach to learning that encourages students to think more broadly about real-world problems. This interdisciplinary approach has helped create innovations like the iPhone, the original laptop computer, and is even revolutionizing cooking in third world countries, and improving air quality as a result. It helps students:Ask questions + Problem solvecreatively Be innovative Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects but with architecture the

Archizoom Associati was a design studio from Florence, Italy founded in 1966. The next few years until its dissolution in 1974, the group was in projects of modernist vision as the theoretical diffuse metropolis “NoStop City which featured the formulation of flexible interior products and places that are directed to a practice polychronic environment and constant construction activities in the city itself; idea behind the idealization of the breakdown of the traditional hermetic architecture in functions that trivialize and expand.

Test: how much weight each length of balsa wood could hold under compression, followed by tension. When the members did get longer, the ones under tension, held much more weight than those under compression at the same length. These results showed us that we should try to use shorter members when possible and try to maximize the amount of members under tension and minimize the amount under compression.

Materiality
Choosing the best materials for a building “No design is possible until the materials with which you design are completely understood. -Ludwig Mies van der Rohe 37
How do materials are chosen for buildings ? Steel, concrete, and wood are three of our most versatile building materials—but there are lots of others, including composite materials and plastics. Architects and engineers use many different materials in their constructions and choose one material instead of another for a variety of reasons. Concrete is the material of choice for large structures such as bridges and tunnels, because it's strong, long-lasting, waterproof, fireproof, relatively inexpensive, and easy to mold into curved as well as straight shapes. In order to represent real life structural capasotity the aim is to show the diffrence between denisty of mateirlaity . They most important aspect is the importance of understaning the stages of how to make “cloud houses” and actaul house: foundations+joists+ columns
