1981
In 1979, RANGS Limited was awarded the sole distributorship rights for Mitsubishi Motors in Bangladesh. The century-old company based in Japan is renowned globally for its technologically advanced and futuristically innovative vehicles that come with the commitment to serve the best interests of its people.
Started in 1981, RANGS workshop has been formed as the only authorized service provider of Mitsubishi Motors in the country. Years passed and the workshop is capable of servicing the passenger vehicle of all brands in Bangladesh. RANGS Workshop has the skills and technical efficiency to supply genuine MMC parts and provide full spectrum of auto-mechanic services to retrofit, modify or fabricate passenger automotive vehicle.

RANGS Properties Ltd. is a leading property developer of modern buildings that are the representations of architecture at its best. Since inception in 1990, RPL has relentlessly pursued its motto, “Creating Lifestyles” without compromise. After more than a decade of thriving achievements, RPL is now an established name in the arena of real estate & construction in Bangladesh.
RANGS Industries has been one of the pioneers in bringing world class premium electronics home appliance products in Bangladesh since 1985. Since then there has been no turning back and now RANGS Industries is operating successfully in the competitive market with brands like Toshiba, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic etc.

Since 2002 RANCON Motors Ltd. has been the pioneer of luxury vehicle brand in Bangladesh with Mercedes-Benz. For the last 16 years RANCON Motors has been maintaining the brand reputation of Mercedes-Benz by complying with global guiding principles.

Shell Lubricant started it’s journey in Bangladesh in 1977 with Bangladesh Petroleum corporation. Later partnered with Padma Oil Co. and exited from Bangladesh in 2000. Shell reentered in Bangladesh with RANKS Petroleum Ltd. in 2004 and became one of the leading lubricant brands in this country in few years.

RANCON started to roll the ball of building world class industrial park in 2014 with RANCON Motorbikes Limited for assembling Suzuki Motorbikes in Bangladesh. Within 4 years, RANCON built 3 more manufacturing plants in that area for Mitsubishi Outlander with RANGS Limited, electronics products with RANCON Electronics Limited and JMC trucks with RANCON Automobiles Limited.

RANCON Motorbikes Ltd. has stated it’s journey as a sole distributor of globally renowned brand SUZUKI since 2012. From then RANCON Motorbikes Ltd. has been on a journey full of growth, promise and progress and now it is moving into manufacturing of Suzuki Motorbikes in Bangladesh.

Rancon has recently launched FUSO- a brand of Daimler with RANCON Trucks and Buses Limited (RTBL) as the sole authorized general distributor in Bangladesh by Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer- Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC). From now on, Rancon Trucks and Buses (RTBL) will be responsible for the import and wholesale businesses exclusively for the Fuso Truck and Bus in the country. 5

Journey of transformation The legacy of RANCON took the first ride in 1979 with RANGS Limited, and since then there has been no turning back. It has been an exciting journey of passion, hard work and dedication of a team bearing winning jeans who believed in themselves. The journey gets more exciting with the footprint in electronics industry with RANGS Industries Limited in 1985. Then moved to the property business in 1990 with RANGS Properties Limited and formed companies targeting different market segments in the same industry. Mr. Shahriar Harun, a people and performance strategist, has an extensive experience of over 14 years both in multinationals and in local companies with different industry exposures. He started off his career with Mitsui Group in Australia and then moved to Bangladesh and served British American Tobacco, Standard Chartered Bank, Chevron and The City Bank Limited in different organizational development roles. Currently, he has been the figurehead in making sustainable changes in group strategy, policies and processes for RANCON, a promising business house in Bangladesh. As ‘Director, People and Technology’ -he has been trying to cultivate the culture of ‘Challenge Convention’, which is one of the first kinds for any local group of companies in the country.
Romo Rouf Chowdhury is an esteemed business entrepreneur in Bangladesh. His focus on turning around declining businesses and making them sustainable makes him distinguished from conventional entrepreneurs. Starting his career in RANGS group in 1994, he climbed up the ladder to become the Managing Director of Rangs Properties Limited- one of the flagship companies of the group in 2002. Taking the helm of the company, he concentrated on making a brand name in the real estate sector by developing landmark projects. At present, RPL is one of the leading premium real estate development company in the Country. His success with RPL earned him the leadership of Rangs Limited- the flagship companies of the group and distributor of Mitsubishi Motors, among other companies. Besides revamping the existing business operations, he started expanding the products and business portfolios in the group. He brought in brands such as Mercedes-Benz, JMC, Mahindra, Suzuki, among others. In 2015, he branched out from RANGS group to develop his own corporate brand “RANCON” with the vision to become trendsetter in every business he leads. At present he has more than 25 companies under RANCON umbrella to offer diversified quality products and services- from electronics to automobile to real estate and even to telecom, to the customers and thus cater the demand of the economy. Social Business Our social business provides marketable skills to disadvantaged and marginalized youth through vocational training and hands-on experience, together with social support. This is coordinated by Japanese Foundation NPO SK Dream Japan, Grameen Shikkha, and RANGS Workshop Ltd.
Ongoing support and follow-up to youth who join the employment market after graduation.
Since 2015, 42 youths have been benefited from this program—some of whom have returned to join as instructors of this school.
