Design Ideology and Evolution

Urbanisation is a layer that is directly linked to the development of any city. So the crux of the design ideology is to add a more sustainable layer that will maintain the urban language, yet better the current scenario withuot Natural Human pyschology- hampering/ straining the current process. Feeling a sense of belonging when closer to nature

To incorporate a sense of belonging to the nature even after being way above and detached from the natural environment.

“Mumbai” like many major cities in the developing world, Mumbai faces numerous problems; in particular, the city cannot keep up with the rapid urbanisation. It is the financial capital of the country and the first largest urban area in the country.

CONSUMPTION OF ENERGY IN COMMERCIAL SECTOR

Location- BKC, Bandra East, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Brief- Urban space can act as a model of vertical densification of nature within the city and marking a change in perception of environment friendly buildings. To integrate vertical forestation in the built form in order to promote reforestation in metropolitan cities and compensate for the lack of green cover and curb increasing pollution especially in commercial districts where people spend most of their time in the commercial office sector. Administrative Building Concept:

The very first thing a person will see as soon as they enter the site is the lush green natural context. Amidst the designed contoured landscape, has been zoned for the main heart of the whole campus that is the administrative building. This building will form an identity for the whole campus, and since the ladscape is a very integral part of the whole planning, the building needs to equally contribute to it.

Agriculture College Concept:

The foresmost conceptual interest was to create a connect of the design intervention with the adjacent green roof on the master layout.

West Elevation

With an interesting contextual design, this structure had to be an intervention to compliment it. Other than that, feature of sloping roof has been incorporated with large overhangs on the south facade, providing diffused light inside the functions facing south.

South Elevation

The over hangs also provide shade to the internal oprn passages. 䄀刀䔀䄀㨀 ㈀㜀 匀儀⸀䴀  䄀刀䔀䄀㨀㈀㜀 匀儀⸀䴀

Heritage Preservation Center Location- Orchha, Maadhya Pradesh, India

Site Plan

Brief-A design solution essentially with a deeper understanding of heritage potential and optimum usage of spaces for a growing small town with daily conflicts between the spaces trapped and identities lost; with obscure interfaces and diminishing characters, involving study of growing population due to migration, the need for availability of sources of income or employement, the interconnectivity and infrastructure of a city. Semester- 6 /2016 Mentor - Ar. Renuka Kale

Design Overview The rich heritage and the beautiful charbaug landscape system is the key element that has been incorporated in the design. The central courtyard in the design becomes a common point giving access to all sides of the site, especially the central plaza with a beautiful designed landscape and the already existing phoolbaug, through which a person gets to enter the palki mahal.

Multifacility Hub Location- Dhanukarwadi, Kandivali West, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India Brief- Mumbai has a linear growth corridor. all the stations on the western and central line are along the main roads which act as the main arteries of the city along with highways. all the stations are at a close proximity of the main roads. the studio objectives are to explore the ideation of an architectural intervention of different uses and identifying the uses of appropriate form foa the given function in the background of dense urban area of proposed metro station. Semester- 5 /2016 Mentor - Ar. Smit Goghari

The functions have been zoned in a way to respect the site and the context. Pocket recreational spaces have been created around the structres and inside as a part of interactive spaces. The sloping roof highlights the design, which is in contrast to the existing buildings around. Also keeping in mind the heavy rainfall in mumbai sloping roofs are a very convinient option which is not usually used in its architecture today.

The essence of social life is reducing everyday. The vision is to offer a space to the pol community which can help people come together, space which can be used for health care, display their talents, help women run small businesses; showcasing ‘An Architecture for the people, based on their socio-culture Fabric Semester- 4 /2015 Mentor - Ar. The whole design is very organic and radial creating a focus in the center where an observatory deck has been created which gives a view to the whole site, below the deck is a semi open exhibition space. Basically the main focus was to create one such focal element which in return increases the appreciation of the site.

Landscape Design Brief-Orchha a religious town has been long identified for its historical temples, Raja Ram Temple and Chaturbhuj Temple. Both the temples are connected via a common public place/plaza which becomes the central point for public activities and gatherings. The Plaza is connected by streets to the state highway and the public parking area with few streets leading to the internal town roads. This landscape intervention aimed at making optimum utilisation of the plaza for the locals as well as creating an acctraction for the tourists Semester- 6 /2016 Mentor - Ar. Smit Goghari
