HONORS ART III &/IV HONORS STUDENTS must complete extra requirements because they will be receiving honors credit. Students may not opt to change to standard level if requirements are not met. Students in Honors Art must be willing to meet these additional requirements and be self-motivated to complete all assignments by the due date. Late Assignments will NOT be accepted.
1) SELF-ASSESSMENT due with each project throughout semester. Students will be required to complete a self-assessment/ critique with each project they turn in throughout the course. The self-assessment is counted as an additional quiz grade. If assessment is not completed with project students will receive a ZERO. Students will not be reminded as they should be aware of all expectations.
2) RESEARCH PROJECT (Artist Research, Presentation & Inspiration Artwork) RESEARCH DUE : Monday, FEBRUARY 27th PRESENTATION DUE: Monday, MARCH 26th INSPIRATION ARTWORK DUE: Monday,APRIL 30th STUDENTS MAY TURN IN ANY OF THE HONORS ASSIGNMENTS EARLY AS THEY ARE COMPLETED. HOWEVER, LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. LATE PROJECTS RESULT IN A ZERO. ARTIST RESEARCH: (2/27) All research must be completed on provided research handouts. Research will need to be done outside of class unless they have free time in class or roundtable. Time will not be provided for students to work on the honors requirements. Information gathered for research may be obtained from books or the Internet however all sources must be listed on the second page of the artist research handout PRESENTATION: (3/26) Create a Power Point or Movie using animoto.com or other movie creator on the chosen artist. Movie should include all research information as well as images of their work. Make sure to include any interesting facts about the artist. The movie or show should be to music. The presentation should start with a title page or screen that includes the Artists name and birth-death dates. You should also incorporate an image of the artist. Make sure that the presentation stays consistent throughout. The same color(s) and font should be used. Keep it simple so the focus can be on the artist and the work. INSPIRATION ART: (4/30) Create a work of art in the style of the artist chosen, You can use an artist’s work for reference but it should NOT be replicated. This work should be your own creation. Artwork should be a minimum of 18x18. Colors, Media, subject matter, and technique should all resemble that of the Artist’s Style. This will be graded by the following objectives: Artists Style portrayed, Appropriate Media choice, Technique & skill, & Craftsmanship.
3) ARTIST STATEMENT: DUE Friday, May11th You will write an artist statement (10-12 sentences) about who you are as an artist, what media you enjoy working with, where you hope your art will take you, and any explanation of you art or style you feel needed. Please research artist statements of others to get a basic layout/template and ideas. Your FULL name typed and centered. Size 24 (Black & BOLD) Font-your choice, Centered below (2 lines down) your artist statement should be in black in the same font as your name, size 10 or 12.
