Associative Design (AD) is a project by the Portuguese Association of Wood and Furniture Industries (AIMMP) that aims to develop and promote the production of products from the home sector as well as launch challenges that will contribute to innovation in the use of both technology and design. AD will support and push companies that share this vision and take their products further into exciting new markets. AD is a brand of excellence that represents and promotes Portuguese products on the most important, demanding and acclaimed venues on the international landscape. This collective effort is sustained by quality, innovation and design and aspires to answer the growing global market demands. The AD brand relaunch aims to continue to the project started in 2009 while being more ambitious on its execution and goals. While expecting to produce a real increase on the volume of sales AD is also determined to become a success case study alongside the companies and products involved.

The &blanc is a multi-authored collection of accessories for the home, produced by Corian® DuPont. The collection consists of 8 small size pieces with different functions for different environments. These have been developed by Miguel Flores Soeiro (Art Director), Marco Sousa Santos, Toni Grilo, Gonçalo Campos, and Daniel Vieira. These small-scale accessories, of domestic and semi-industrial production intend to show the world the potential of Corian® material, combined with the talent of some of the best Portuguese Designers. This is a perfect symbiosis of high-digital production technologies joined with care and manual finish, which results in parts with unmatched durability. It is not intended to be a mass production collection, each object is unique; they tell a story, have an intention and a distinct manufacturing process. The Designers of &blanc are Portuguese, with different experiences, backgrounds and distinctions, proven around the world. AIMMP - PORTUGUESE ASSOCIATION OF WOOD AND FURNITURE INDUSTRIES’ mission is to represent, promote and protect the interests of the companies from the five sectorial divisions that comprise the Wood and Furniture sector: cutting, felling, sawing and wood packaging; panels and paneled wood, carpentry and alike; furniture and alike; export, import and distribution of wood and derivatives. These industries account for 3.4 billion of euros in sales, 2.4 bilion from exports. Furniture, wood panels, construction materials (doors and floors) pine and eucalyptus wood, in roundwood and sawn, are the main agents for achieving these remarkable values.
