On October 4, 2024, we will enshrine the latest group of Sun Devil greats as the newest class of the Sun Devil Athletics Hall of Fame. Check out this year’s inductees:
Hall of Fame class:
- Valerye Boyer Wells — track & field
- Michele “Micky” Benedetti — diving
- Katelyn Boyd — softball
- Roger Detter — baseball/MBB/track
- Azahara Munoz — women’s golf
- Will Sutton — football
Hall of Distinction:
- John Spini — gymnastics
Sun Devils in Paris - meet the Olympians
Arizona State University was wellrepresented at yet another Olympic Games, with more than 20 Sun Devils past, present and future.

Inaugural Big 12 Alumni Counsel to feature two Sun Devil greats
Sun Devil alums Lawrence Guy (Football) and Briann January (Women’s Basketball) have been tabbed to the inaugural Big 12 Alumni Council, aimed at leveraging the experience and expertise of some of the conference’s most notable student-athlete alumni as it enters a new era.
Comprised of 32 former student-athletes from men’s and women’s programs across each Big 12 institution, these alumni will provide guidance and insights surrounding a variety of topics, including brand building, athlete relations, storytelling, digital content and much more.

Allow me to reintroduce myself...
Many of you will know the name Lenny McGill from his time and impact as a Sun Devil Football student-athlete, but following his time in Tempe, he’s made a nice career for himself. McGill went from ASU to the NFL, where he spent some time before transitioning to a role in professional scouting.
Lenny worked his way up to become a Senior National Scout with the Las Vegas Raiders! We would love to hear what you’ve been up to since leaving ASU. If you would be interested in having us share your story and “re-introduce yourself,” you can do so using this link.
Social impact
Sun Devil Football’s David Fulcher works with prisons to help re-habilitate
David Fulcher has been working in prisons for the past two decades to help inmates become better people. Fulcher has operated his Mentoring Against Negative Actions program for nearly 20 years.
Fulcher touches on all aspects of life: how to find a job, get a social security card, driver’s license, or state ID, and be a law-abiding citizen.
I talk to them as if they’re my son,” Fulcher said. “I’m not playing. If you don’t want to be here, then get out. If you want to be here, then you better listen to me. I’m going to help the guys who want to be helped.”
