GUEST POLICY AND FACILITY INFORMATION ATHENS YMCA GUEST POLICY
MY Y IS NOW EVERY Y IN GEORGIA
The YMCA’s number one priority is to serve our members who have made a commitment to the YMCA by joining. The purpose behind our Guest Policy is to enhance member services to current members who are encouraging a friend to join or have out-of-town family members visiting, and to offer an opportunity for nonmembers to try our facility before committing to join.
The Y movement is for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We want to encourage members to utilize the Y as often as they can. Sometimes, it’s more convenient for members to use a Y in a different location when traveling in a different area or region. Now full facility YMCA members have the flexibility to use other Y facilities throughout Georgia at no extra charge.
Guests Visiting with an Athens YMCA Member
How It Works
All guests visiting with a member receive one pass per year at no cost. Guests will be required to complete the Guest Registration Process - show I.D. and sign the guest waiver before entry is granted. Once entry is granted, guests must adhere to the Athens YMCA code of conduct and all policies and procedures.
Guests Visiting without an Athens YMCA Member Guests visiting without a member will be required to purchase a guest pass complete the guest registration process - show I.D. and sign the guest waiver before entry is granted. Once entry is granted, guests must adhere to the Athens YMCA’s code of conduct and all policies and procedures. Please note: Guests who have purchased a daily pass can have the $15 credited towards a membership if they decide to join the same day the guest pass was bought.
Cost of Guest Passes Guest pass purchases are good for the day of purchase only.
PLEASE NOTE: Adult Guest Pass 16 & up
$15 for daily use
Youth Guest Pass 15 & under $10 for daily use Family Guest Pass
$20 for daily use
Family Guest Pass includes a maximum of 5 people per pass. The Athens YMCA reserves the right to change the Guest Pass Policy at any time at its discretion. The YMCA will not offer family guest passes from May 1st to September 1st. GUESTS HAVE FULL ACCESS TO THE ATHENS YMCA FACILITY EXCEPT HEALTH CLUBS AND CHILD WATCH.
Facility Rental The Y rents specific components of our facilities and grounds (athletic field, playground and meeting rooms) to outside groups. Please email Tammy Langford for more information (tammy@athensymca.org).
Simply present your active YMCA membership card and a photo ID at any participating Georgia YMCA The reciprocal program is valid for YMCA full facility / full privilege members only. Visitors to other Y’s must present a valid membership card and photo ID upon the first visit and complete a visiting member waiver or membership form with liability waiver. Participating YMCA’s reserve the right to restrict facility or program access. Please contact the Y you will be visiting for more details. Other restrictions may apply.
Building Closings As a service to the community, the YMCA will make every effort to open regular hours during most cases of inclement weather. Certain areas of the YMCA will open only if staff can arrive safely to the site. The YMCA reserves the right to close the entire facility depending on the severity of the inclement weather if it is deemed in the best interest of our members, guests and staff. The decision to close the YMCA facility due to inclement weather is that of the CEO or her designate.
Youth Program Policy If Clarke County Schools have a delayed opening, programs will resume as scheduled. Please check the website for updates throughout the day. If Clarke County Schools are closed all Youth Programs, Practices, & Bus Transportation will be cancelled. If Clarke County Schools are dismissed during school hours, all Youth Programs, Practices, & Bus Transportation will be cancelled. Children will be sent home from school. Buses will not drop kids off at the YMCA.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Campaign
Why Give to the Y The Athens YMCA is dedicated to bettering the community we live in. In addition to a place to exercise, the Y is so much more. We provide essential programming to kids and teens to keep them engaged and out of trouble after school. We provide health classes and screenings to help people combat chronic diseases. We provide a safe and open environment where all are welcome. We provide a summer feeding program to fight food insecurity in our area. We're dedicated to making sure every person who comes through our doors has a chance to succeed and belong at the Y.
Addressing Our Growing Needs Achievement
Health
Belonging
At the Y, we know that everyone can achieve their full potential with the right tools. That's why we're dedicated to keeping vulnerable populations involved in our programs. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we're committed to offering our services to everyone, regardless of financial status. 100% of our Annual Campaign donations go toward programs and financial assistance.
With illnesses and chronic diseases on the rise, the Y is committed to offering classes and programs to help combat health issues for people of all ages. In addition to athletics for youth and classes designed for active older adults, the Athens Y also hosts an R.N. twice a week from a neighboring hospital. Throughout the year, health screenings and classes including Diabetes Prevention and Cancer Wellness are held to raise awareness, knowledge, and support of individual wellbeing.
As the population of adults over the age of 65 is growing, children and teens are looking to anyone and anything to "fit in," and families are moving in and out of our area, the Y is a central location for belonging. From the middle school soccer team that holds each other accountable for practice, to the group exercise class participants who look forward to seeing each other at every class, we strive to be a place that everyone can be a part of. Our Y is for everyone.
