Capturing Hydrangeas Workshop

This is an information-gathering class about the feasibility of beekeeping in the area. Learn about the basics of beekeeping and the beekeeper’s year, where to find materials, and when and how to get started. Weather permitting; students visit the Garden’s hives for a demo. Working with pastels, allow you to capture the rich colors of the beautiful hydrangeas at the garden. We will work on capturing the light and color of the blossoms. The garden has a collection of over 300 varieties of hydrangeas. Weather permitting we will paint en plein air. Jill Haack will teach you how to layer pastels with an underpainting.
