EXPERIENCE ATL LIKE THE LOCALS
BY
Home of Invention
A popular soft drink (Coca-Cola) was invented here, as you probably know. But did you also know that your lawn mower (Home Depot), weather report (The Weather Channel) and your favorite classic movie channel (Turner Classic Movies) all probably come from Atlanta companies?
Peachtrees
Contrary to what you have heard, there’s really only one Peachtree Street, but there are plenty (around 70) drives, avenues, lanes and places also named “Peachtree.” There are even fewer actual peach trees. That’s another story.
Movie Magic
Atlanta is so much more than just the “Hollywood of the South” or “ATLwood” with movies such as “Black Panther,” “Selma,” “The Hunger Games,” “ATL,” “Drumline” and a good portion of the Fast & Furious series. Hit Netflix and stream “Ozark,” “Raising Dion,” “Containment,” “Stranger Things,” “The Walking Dead” and more filmed in Atlanta. You can’t forget the hit TV show “Atlanta” based in the A.
Music Mavens
Atlanta’s music industry is legendary and ranges from trap and blues to gospel and country. Favorite icons like Outkast, Migos, Monica, Ludacris and many more are ATL natives and their music tells it.
Yum
Atlanta’s restaurant scene routinely draws rave reviews nationally. Choose from the best soul and Southern food to amazing pho and kimchi stew. Looking for Waffle House? Turn around. They are hard to miss.
We’ve Got Game
Thanks to the 2018 MLS Champion Atlanta United FC, the city has become synonymous with soccer. Forbes estimated it as the most valuable team in Major League Soccer. Our baseball team is hard to beat, too. You can’t forget the 2021 World Series Champion Atlanta Braves.
