MAYOR
Peyton Jamison
Peyton Jamison, a native of North Fulton, has a strong connection to Milton, actively participating in community activities for years. He served as the Planning Commission Chairman (2013-2017) and the Chairman of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (2016). Jamison was also the President of the Crabapple Community Association (2012-17), dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Crabapple District. Elected to the Milton City Council in 2017, he represented District 1, Post 1 and served as Mayor Pro Tempore from January 2019 to the end of 2021. In November 2021, Jamison became Milton’s second-ever Mayor. He resides on beautiful acreage along Birmingham Highway with his wife, Megan, and their three children. Apart from his civic involvement, Jamison actively engages in youth sports with his kids. He runs Jamison Private Wealth Management, a successful small business in Crabapple that has served our area since 1988. Jamison is a graduate of Auburn University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. @jamisonformilton

Crabapple Fest
Milton’s annual arts and antiques festival is the first weekend in October. Crabapple Road in downtown Milton is transformed into a bustling market showcasing more than 100 local antique and art vendors featuring one-of-a-kind items. There will be lots of delicious food for you to enjoy while you watch football on a big screen in the heart of Crabapple. Crabapple Fest offers activities the entire family can enjoy. Even your leashed pet is welcome to attend!
The Milton Farmers Market is on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., April through October. Top-notch vendors set up on the Green at Crabapple Market. Enjoy everything from pre-made meals to plants, caramel corn to candles, empanadas to produce, coffee to carved signs - and a whole lot more. The vendors are locally based small businesses, so in addition to treating yourself, you are supporting the regional economy.
While there are reliably well over a dozen vendors on any given Wednesday, the exact line-up tends to change by the month (and even by the week).

Greenspace Bond
Milton residents take great pride in the city’s rural heritage and natural beauty. That’s why, in 2016, over 82 percent of voters approved $25 million in bonds to acquire land for parks, trails and greenspace, including conservation land, wildlife habitat and natural areas. These areas are set aside for passive use and no development.
In 2019, Milton kicked this initiative into high gear by acquiring more than 248 acres. These purchases range from 106 acres off Lackey Road to a 4.8-acre parcel off Webb Road. This land was added to the 130 acres for passive use at the Former Milton Country Club, which the City bought in January 2018.

The Wagon at Bethany Bend started with a $200 purchase many years ago. Now, the wagon is a profitable business for its creator, Donna Cline. Over the years, Donna has developed quite a following, making corsages and boutonnieres for high school students during homecoming and prom.
Donna’s floral arrangements are made from the heart and are one-of-a-kind. She gathers perennials and annuals grown at her home on Bethany Bend to create arrangements available daily at The Wagon, along with custom orders. Honey Stands
Honey-making began as a fun pastime in 2015 for Ed and Carter Parsons. Now, they have 20 beehives at their Milton Honey Farm and a thriving business. Locals are buzzing about their homemade honey and handmade products, including goat milk and honey soaps, lotions and lip balm, that sell out almost daily at their self-service stands.

Nestled on 65 beautiful acres in Milton, Scottsdale Farms is a family-owned garden center, nursery and working farm that has provided gardening services to the North Atlanta area for over 20 years.

Designed as four distinct building forms inspired by our community’s equestrian and rural roots, Milton’s state-of-the-art library opened in 2015, offering 25,000 square feet of reading and community space.
Directly across the street sits
The Friends Barn, a larger replica of the Dinsmore barn that once occupied this property on the corner of Charlotte and Mayfield roads. The barn was primarily built from reclaimed wood salvaged by The Friends to store gently used donated books that are then sold to raise money to support library services and programs.
Milton Taxes and Senior Exemptions
When you call the police or fire department, play in a park, or eat at an inspected restaurant, you use services paid for by your city property taxes. Your taxes also pay for services to oversee development, protect water and air from pollution, repair and build roads and more. Property taxes are the largest source of revenue to fund these services that you count on daily.
Milton already had one of the most generous homestead exemption programs in North Fulton. Still, in 2022 the Milton City Council approved a resolution to increase homestead exemption opportunities for all adults aged 65 and older. Homestead exemptions apply to property owners who own and occupy a primary residence in Milton as of January 1 of a given tax year. Parcels of land without a primary residence do not qualify. Now, there is one exemption for those ages 65 and over for $25,000 regardless of income. In addition, residents aged 70 and over now qualify for the full value exemption from municipal ad valorem taxes if their annual income is below $100,000.
