Kelly Locke + Fish Leather Fish leather from Atlantic Leather plays a leading role in ONE PLUS Kelly Locke Sustainable, a new environmentally-friendly collection by US designer Kelly Locke. In the US market, where quantity dominates, Kelly has achieved remarkable success in creating and promoting high-quality unique designs. Kelly Locke bags appear regularly on the red carpet, and stars such as Halle Berry simply adore them. But what was it that attracted Kelly to fish leather?

“Like all materials in the KL line, its textural quality and body are the greatest attraction to me. Combined with the fact that Atlantic Leather has a great color palette to work with and can reproduce custom colors with great hues, which makes an ideal situation for a designer,� explains Kelly, who first came across fish leather from Atlantic Leather in 2010 at a show in Italy, on one of his many expeditions in search of exciting materials to work with.

“My accessory designs have always been centered around the concept of lasting integrity and using distinctive natural materials. I strive to give the market a product that can endure and isn’t designed for replacing every season because it does not wear well or looks dated," says Kelly. In ONE PLUS Kelly takes the idea a step further, with a “re-use” sales program that will allow existing KL bag owners to return usable bags from previous seasons, that can be donated to charitable women’s organizations in their empowerment programs .

Next stop Munich The first show of this autumn is Munich Fabric Start, which focuses on the German fashion market. We’re one of the few exhibitors at the fair showing leather – and, needless to say, the only one presenting washable salmon leather :-) This is the second time we participate in Munich Fabric Start.
