NEWSLETTER December 2012
Perforated Perforated fish leather is a brand-new product, although perforated leather has its own history. Has this ever been done before? “We had no idea what would come out of our experiments in perforating salmon and wolffish leather, but we’ve been delighted with the results,” comments Managing Director Gunnsteinn Björnsson. “Especially the wolffish leather, which is thicker and stiffer than salmon leather – the perforations make it more flexible and supple. And we think the combination of the perforations and the dappled leather is really cool!” At Lineapelle in Italy in October we showed the results of our work for the first time, and we discovered just how lucky we are. Our clients are always keen to try new materials, and make them into something exciting. “We’re working on a new range of bags using perforated salmon leather” says Tina C. Skaar at Cala&Jade. She’s going to send us photos – we can’t wait! What ideas do you have for perforated fish leather?
