NEWSLETTER March 2012
At last, at last... We’re still in Paris... or at least our heart is still there, while we‘re back home busily filling orders and sending out swatches after Le Cuir à Paris in February. Yet again, we made it into the Trends Gallery, on this occasion with our colourful range of salmon leather, of which we are truly proud.
WAB is a winner We are the first in the world to develop a method of making washable (WAB) fish leather, and it was never a question of if, but when our washable salmon leather would take off. Now we‘re on our way! When we went to Paris for le Cuir we took along, just for fun, three garments designed by Sara María, our new sales representative. And what a response we received at our exhibition stand! Fashion designers wanted to know all about how to use fish leather in design. Our stand was packed with visitors throughout the show, and our agents did a great job – they are wonderful! If you‘re not in touch with one of our agents yet, you can find their contact information on atlanticleather.is – About us.
Irresistible Fashion designers are always on a quest for something exciting and irresistibly sexy – and their enthusiastic response at le Cuir has inspired us to new heights! Our “kitchen lab” is in a creative ferment. We added a film of gold to our washable salmon leather, then washed it. It shouldn’t be possible, but the results are promising – a vintage texture with a sheen of gold here and there... watch this space! And by the way, take a look at our Facebook page and “like” us, to keep your finger on the pulse. Here on the north coast of Iceland we still have snow on the ground, but in our hearts we know that spring is just around the corner.
P.S. If you missed us in Paris, why not catch up with us in Hong Kong? Gunnsteinn will be there for us at MM&T, 28 to 30 March: Hall 1A, stand E30.
