NEWSLETTER October 2010 The mutable surface of the Atlantic Have you seen the wild Atlantic for yourself, close up and personal, and observed the ever-changing character of the ocean? Mirror-smooth one day, gently undulating the next, then exploding into breakers and white spray. At the Lineapelle leather fair in Bologna, Italy, from October 12 to 14, we want to share with you that experience of the mutability of a power of nature, with a wide range of different finishes and textures in our fishleather products.

Pushing the envelope Not a lot of people know that we tan the skin of the tilapia fish, and hand-paint it with gold and silver to highlight the scale patterns – what will they think of next? And the odd man out in our fishy kingdom is ostrich-leg leather – we simply could not resist the texture! With metallic film we highlight the skin, and the result is simply...

Smooth or textured Atlantic Leather is the only company in the world which makes fishleather from the skin of the spotted wolffish, whose silkysmooth finish and bold spotted pattern have a special charm of their own: this is the leopard of the ocean! The more ruffled texture of cod leather gives it depth, while the natural two-toned character of the skin adds a vibrant touch.

Lineapelle You will find us at our usual place at Lineapelle: stand C 30, Pavilion 16. Salmon and Perch leather will, of course, continue to have pride of place in our autumn and winter range for 2011/12 (see more on www.atlanticleather.is – September newsletter), but do ask us all about the pearly touch to our fishleather. We look forward to seeing you in Bologna!
