Having made quite the name for themselves in the horror community via the Volumes of Blood anthologies and holiday gore-fest 13 Slays Till X-Mas, producers P.J. Starks and Eric Huskisson of Blood Moon Pictures are back at work plotting increasingly sinister ways to scare the life out of us all. Actually, this time around, the pair are injecting a bit more humor into the mix. Yet the blood remains the same. Starks got the idea for the title of Blood Moon's new project awhile back, a light bulb going off in his head when thinking about the New Year approaching. Suddenly New Fears Eve came to him; he just needed to write the script.

THE SYNOPSIS: As the coming year approaches three best friends reluctantly prepare for Hooper Industries’ annual New Year’s Eve bash. The clock ticks down and the body count rises as a psychotic murderer known as The Doctor is on the loose. This sadistic surgeon of death leaves Owensboro covered in blood as local police and FBI are forced to navigate through a maze of bodies left in his wake. Unbeknownst to the three best friends their mandatory party is about to turn deadly when the killer sets his sights on them. December 31st becomes a party to die for when Leslie, Brian, Moses and their colleagues are trapped inside an inescapable building with a blood thirsty madman hell bent on carving his way to midnight.

Currently in pre-production, New Fears Eve is set to be filmed entirely in Owensboro and Blood Moon hopes to get local businesses to support the project financially. There's also an Indiegogo campaign in the works (running through the first week of November) for those who would like to help make this Kentucky-based project a reality. Thanks to the success and recognition of Blood Moon's previous films, Starks and Huskisson have been able to secure roles for numerous known actors from the horror genre, including Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp, Victor Crowley), Hannah Fierman (V/H/S, Shudder's Creepshow series), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie, The Devil's Rejects) and many more. Reportedly, Sheridan will not only act in NFE but has also signed on as a producer. And the incredibly talented Rocky Gray from Evanescence will once again come on board as composer.

Starks and Huskisson plan to shoot New Fears Eve during the first quarter of 2023 with an eye on releasing the film later in December as the New Year approaches. Stay tuned for more developments as this highly-anticipated project takes shape.
