CANCER SURVIVOR HOLDS ONTO HOPE

Thanks to lifesaving immunotherapy provided under the guidance of Asim Amin, MD, PhD, of Levine Cancer Institute, one grateful patient is ‘paying it forward’ by supporting patients diagnosed with late-stage melanoma.

Born in Scotland and a resident of Charlotte, Stuart Grant can be called many things: a melanoma survivor; retired biotech industry leader; a family man; and, along with his wife Flora, a generous benefactor of Levine Cancer Institute. With the couple’s recent gift of $100,000, the More Than Skin Deep Fund was established to support Dr. Amin’s immunotherapy research, meet special needs of patients being treated for melanoma at Levine Cancer Institute, and establish support groups for melanoma patients, including adolescent and young adult patients.
