CaroleAnn SIMPSON

JANUARY 24, 1946 – MARCH 7, 2022

This spring, we shared in the loss of Carole Ann Simpson, a beloved member of our Atrium Health family.

Carole Ann retired from Atrium Health after more than 43 years in Medical Records Administration and OBGYN Medical Education at Carolinas Medical Center, where she mentored generations of young physicians as they embarked on their training.

Carole Ann had a passion for life and is remembered warmly for her optimism and kindness to others. When deciding what legacy she would like to leave, Carole Ann chose to honor the people who helped her during her cancer journey by making a gift to the Carolinas Liver and Pancreatic Cancer Care Advancement Fund. This meaningful tribute was made to honor her doctor, Reza Nazemzadeh, MD, and the Levine Cancer Institute nursing team that cared for her during her chemotherapy treatments.

Proud of her work and her time at

Atrium Health, Carole Ann was grateful for the opportunity to leave a philanthropic legacy for the organization that she was a part of for so long and had impacted her so deeply.

With her gift, Carole Ann became a member of Atrium Health Foundation’s Evergreen Society, where her bequest will fund critical pancreatic cancer research here in Charlotte.

A lover of travel, animals, UNC basketball, baking and water aerobics, Carole Ann had a way of brightening the spirits of everyone in her presence.

She will be fondly missed among her family, former colleagues, and countless friends who were blessed to have known her.
