BACK WHERE THE BIG CATS PROWL, KEEP POUNDING 5K RAISES $100,000 FOR CANCER RESEARCH
On June 4, more than 1,300 community supporters and Carolina Panthers fans across the country participated in the 12th Annual Keep Pounding 5K, co-presented by Rodgers Builders and JELD-WEN. The event, which had been held virtually the past two years, welcomed runners back to the racecourse, beginning outside Levine Cancer Institute and ending inside Bank of America Stadium.
Inside the stadium, loud cheers could be heard from the stands as runners made their way to the finish line.
“I have seen firsthand how the funds raised by this race have impacted those at Levine Children’s and Levine Cancer Institute,” shared Kellie McGregor, assistant vice president of development for Atrium Health Foundation. “Patients, young and old, who have access to cutting edge clinical trials that just a few years ago were not available here...this gives them, and their families, hope and inspiration.”
Since the Keep Pounding initiative began nearly 20 years ago, more than $4.4 million has been raised for cancer research at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health Levine Children’s.
With special thanks
to this year’s sponsors for leading the charge in the fight to cure cancer:
