It is with great excitement and anticipation that we welcome you to The Parlor Room. This performance is an immersive exploration of music, dance, and atmosphere that is designed to surprise, delight, and ignite your imagination. It is a reflection of years of curiosity, a desire to push the boundaries of creativity, and the shared vision of an extraordinary group of artists.
The Parlor Room reimagines the traditional parlor —once a space for conversation, connection, and music—into a 21st-century experience where art evolves in real-time through chance, collaboration, and the magic of the moment. This work is shaped by our collaboration with Damon K. Clark, whose work I have deeply admired. Our work on multiple projects has created a synergy that keeps bringing us together. His Living Room Sessions, where music and connection unfold organically, served as the initial spark for The Parlor Room.
Our shared respect for each other’s craft and our mutual desire to support one another’s creative endeavors led to a collaboration that is as much about trust and shared vision as it is about the art itself. Damon and I both believe in the power of collaboration—in the beauty that arises when artists come together, each contributing their unique voice to create something greater than the sum of its parts.
This philosophy of collaboration has been central to the work of B. MOORE DANCE since its inception. Through The Elevator Project, we brought you ROOTED: Envisage Dance Installations, Jazz Soul Funk Classics, and now The Parlor Room. With every project, we’ve intentionally sought out artists from different disciplines—musicians, dancers, visual artists, designers, and more—to create a dynamic, multi-dimensional experience. The Parlor Room is a continuation of this approach.
The Parlor Room is a testament to the alchemy that emerges from collaboration. What you will experience tonight is the product of creative exploration, driven by the belief that great things happen when artists unite with a shared goal.
Enjoy the magic. Enjoy the moment. And most of all, enjoy the experience we’ve created just for you.
With gratitude,
