ATYP commissioned arts research specialists, Patternmakers, for the ATYP special report: Building mental agility through youth theatre, which surveyed more than 1,200 ATYP participants, parents, alumni and other stakeholders. 650 participants responded to questions specifically addressing the short and long-term impacts ATYP had on young people. The research found that youth theatre can positively impact mental wellbeing (94 per cent), reduce anxiety, build resilience and skills which benefit STEM learning, whether a young person aspires a vocational, technical, academic or artistic career.
