I would like to thank everyone who practices with me and shares my passion for traditional martial arts. A special “thank you” is addressed to those who have supported me, assisted me, and often rescued me from uneasy situations since my arrival to Greece on August of 2000. With the encouragement of many of you I started to introduce Ryu Kyu Kobudo, and all that goes along with the tradition and practices of Okinawa’s martial arts. Slowly we began to learn and to grow. I believe that now is a good time to start writing a monthly News Letter. The following members took their empty hand martial arts training one step further by practicing Kobudo. Members are listed alphabetically.
Kornaros Dimitrios, Kancho, TAE KWON DO, Syllogos “Ef Agonizesthe”, Aghios Dimitrios Members: Kalatzis Kostas Kikilis Georgios Zervas Dimitrios Tzamaras Apostolos
A thirst for knowledge and a fighting spirit is all that Dimitris brings to class. Attentive to details he quickly absorbed Haku Sho no Kun and Maezato no Nunchaku. His love for cooking delicious dishes of Crete rivals his Tae Kwon Do numerous successes.
Lemonis Dimitrios
Dimitris, a GRAV MAGA Senior Instructor, and a Japanese Goju Ryu Karate Do practitioner took the leap and began to study only recently. Being a fast learner he tamed Haku Sho no Kun, and is looking forward to Maezato no Nunchalu!

Mastrappas Savvas, Kancho, E. O. Shotokan Fudokan Karate, Syllogos “Praxandros”, Kypseli
What can one say about Mastrappas sensei? He loves Shotokan! He is dedicated to his art, to his teacher, and to his students. He serves the karate community by frequently publishing articles.
A believer for continuous education and training, Mastrappas sensei added Ryu Kyu Kobudo to the already busy Shotokan Program.
And one more thing: He is a Cyprian to the bone!

The Nunchaku Story
Nikos Theodorou shows off his Nunchaku 5
It all started when I lent a pair of Nunchaku to Theodorou to see if he could create a pair of his own. Nikos rose to the challenge and made one for himself and a smaller one for me. Next, I showed off the finished Nunchaku to Kipseli’s students. Oh! They wanted to make their own Nunchaku also! Kefalas went to work over the Christmas vacation and in lack of rope he used his athletic shoes laces… he added a special touch by burning his name on the wood. Generous enough, he made a pair for Mastrappas sensei also. From the same group, Panagiotopoulos, quietly went to work and one night he brought several pair that looked very professional! I showed those to Kornaros and he wanted several pair for himself and for his students. Wanting Nunchaku quickly, Kornaros, employed a carpenter who copied one of mine. Next, Kornaros went shopping for various colors and size cords. Panagiotopoulos tied and burned the cords to place, and now, Kornaros is happily practicing Maezato no Nunchaku!
It’s the end of the Year! – Kipseli, 16 December 2011

Bo & Nunchaku Seminar On Sunday, February 5th, Kipseli’s tatami felt the weight of 15 hard working practitioners in mastering Haku Sho no Kun and Maezato no Nunchaku. What was special about this training is that practitioners from various styles came together and helped each other in learning the two kata. Onigiri was introduced as the only item on the lunch menu, and it was pushed down by orange juice. The members survived the strange taste of onigiri and the six hours of training.
