EVENT DESCRIPTION The Globe and Mail Invitational returns to Quilchena Golf & Country Club for its 16th annual tournament on July 15, 2013. Recognized as one of Vancouver’s premier charity golf tournaments, The Globe and Mail Invitational supports The Children’s Arts Umbrella Foundation, which provides financial stability for Arts Umbrella. Over its history, this event alone has raised well over $1 million in net revenue. Every year, The Globe and Mail Invitational offers great golf, inspiring competition, and lively on course activities. In true Arts Umbrella style, the day is also much more than a golf tournament, bringing together guests after the day on the course over food, drinks and festivities. By helping us ensure a healthy Foundation, Arts Umbrella will be able to continue to offer innovative and engaging arts programming for years to come. The impact of your support in the community is measured through the children we reach. Arts Umbrella programs make a profound impact on the lives of young people, inspiring confidence and self-esteem, and fostering creativity in young people through the power of self-expression. Over 1,200 classes happen every year, catering to kids of all artistic interests and skill levels — from pre-school age to advanced pre-professional training.
22,000 children access Arts Umbrella programs annually Nearly 14,000 kids participate free-of-charge or at a reduced rate through bursaries, scholarships and outreach programs
