WHAT IS SPLASH? Splash is Arts Umbrella’s signature fundraising event. A stunning art auction and gala which raises nearly $400,000 in net proceeds for the kids of Arts Umbrella. New for 2012: Defining Silence.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Splash, one of Vancouver’s most established charitable art auctions. Now set in a spectacular new downtown venue at CBC Vancouver, Splash 2012 will be a inspired by the glamour of the silent film era and will undoubtedly be a magical night dedicated to celebrating the past, present and future of Arts Umbrella. Splash offers an opportunity for art collectors and enthusiasts to bid on more than 100 artworks by artists from Vancouver and beyond. Splash features a stunning silent auction, as well as an incredible live auction. Above all, Splash is an extremely important source of funding for Arts Umbrella.

Who Attends?

Splash is attended by 500 of Vancouver’s business and community leaders, new and longstanding arts patrons and affluent art collectors, enthusiasts and artists.

Not only is Splash an established art auction and a popular event, it’s also known as a prime client hosting opportunity. SPONSORSHIP PROPERTIES Splash offers a wide variety of unique opportunities to profile your brand: VIP Party

The VIP party is a by-invitation-only event held two nights prior to Splash (Oct. 11th) attended by artists, all event sponsors, and Splash Luminaries (our highest tier ticket buyers). Sponsoring the VIP party allows you to take ownership of your own fully catered exclusive event.

After Party

Valet

After the Silent Auction closes, a red curtain will open to reveal the final act: a new party space for guests to dance, gather and enjoy a sponsored drink or two! Your sponsorship of the after party allows you to brand this exciting new addition to the Splash experience. Custom decor and gifts are encouraged!

Sponsoring the valet service makes your brand the first and last experience many guests have at Splash. It also affords you the opportunity to provide a branded gift for guests to discover in their vehicles.

Photobooth

The photobooth is a perennial hit amongst Splash attendees; who doesn’t love grabbing a friend and hamming it up for the camera? Your sponsorship of this unique property allows you to become an indelible part of guests’ Splash memories, as your logo not only appears at the event, but in every photobooth picture!


SPONSORSHIP PROPERTIES Pendulum Gallery

Three weeks prior to Splash the entire art collection is on exhibition at the Pendulum Gallery for two weeks. Located in the downtown core in the HSBC building, the gallery is open to the public and garners significant corporate traffic. As the Pendulum Gallery Sponsor, your brand will be featured throughout the space for the duration of the exhibition, via a series of exclusive opportunities.

Wine

At Splash, our guests enjoy nearly 30 cases of wine. Your gift will help offset the substantial cost of glassware rentals, and in exchange your logo will appear on a custom wine glass tag on the base of nearly 2,000 wine glasses.

Framing

Splash is an art auction. We rely on the generousity of our artists to donate their works in full. Your gift would help ensure all works are exhibition ready for buyers, and in return your brand would appear beside the art that has been framed on custom art tags on the art walls and in the art catalogue.

Elevator

In the new venue at CBC, guests will be transported to the event space via a spacious 20 passenger elevator, hosted by a vintage style elevator operator, in the theme of the event. By aligning with this critical piece of the evening, your brand will be exposed to all 500 guests, at both the beginning and end of the night.


SPONSORSHIP PROPERTIES Performances

Performances by Arts Umbrella students are always inspirational. This year they will be pervasive throughout the new event space and your brand will be featured on each stage or sign associated with the performances, ensuring the Arts Umbrella message is prominent.

Twitter Feed

As guests tweet live at the event, all tweets with the hashtag #splash will be projected on a giant screen featuring your brand for all to see. This is sure to become a focal point and conversation starter at the event.

Silent Film

As part of the 2012 theme, a short silent film will be created and broadcast online as part of the event invitation, as well as on the jumbotron outside CBC Vancouver. Your brand will be featured on title cards in the film, making it an indelible part of this memorable and entertaining feature.

NEW VENUE For the past 29 years, Splash has traditionally been held on Granville Island. New this year, the event will be moving to a hot new venue downtown: the studios of CBC Vancouver.
