A major component of Auburn University Outreach, OPCE makes the educational resources of the university available for non-credit professional and continuing education programs and conferences designed to promote lifelong learning, regardless of age, interest or location. Programs fall into five general categories: professional development, workforce development, personal enrichment, Auburn youth programs and conferences. Services offered by OPCE include customized training, conference and event management and registration services. Professional development courses include everything from accounting and tax training to human resources, leadership development and the global leadership training initiative, which provides comprehensive training for team leaders and supervisors in the automotive industry along the I-85 Corridor. Certificate programs are offered in a wide range of topics, including medical billing and coding, medical assisting, graphic design and emergency management. For personal enrichment, OPCE offers 50-75 short courses, specializing in a broad array of topics, including health and fitness, arts and crafts, financial planning, recreation and sports activities, language and communication studies, music, computers, life-saving skills, test preparation and driver education. Summer reading programs are available for both children and adults, as well as test preparation courses for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT and ACT. Auburn youth programs include more than 100 programs and summer camps for youth in elementary through high school and are designed to educate and inspire youth in a variety of academic, athletic and extracurricular endeavors while experiencing life at Auburn University.
