One of the many benefits of living in a college town is an exciting year-round lineup of athletic events for every fan and family to enjoy. A charter member of the Southeastern Conference, Auburn fields 21 NCAA Division I-A athletic teams – nine men’s and 12 women’s. The Auburn Tigers have claimed 22 national titles, including football, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, equestrian and women’s track and field. Auburn’s official colors are orange and navy blue, and its beloved mascot Aubie the Tiger is a 10-time national champion. Building on a legacy of athletic prowess, the Auburn Tigers have achieved seven perfect football seasons including national championships in 1957 and 2010, along with 12 conference championships. Three Auburn players have won the Heisman Trophy, named for former Auburn coach John Heisman and presented annually to college football’s most outstanding player: quarterback Pat Sullivan in 1971, running back Bo Jackson in 1985 and quarterback Cam Newton in 2010.
