Thainstone Specialist Auctions to hold Classic Vehicle Auction at the Blast from the Past Automotive Event As a first for the North East of Scotland, Thainstone Specialist Auctions (TSA) have partnered with AW Autotech main sponsor and organiser of the Blast from the Past automotive event to launch a classic vehicle auction as part of the 2022 show. The annual Blast from the Past event will be held at the Thainstone Agricultural Centre on Saturday the 9th of July 2022 and it is the first year that the event will incorporate a classic vehicle auction. “With entries only opening at the beginning of June the vehicle auction has seen over 40 entries with a variety of classic cars and motorbikes ranging from barn finds, to fully restored classics and we are delighted with the range and quality of the entries” explained Neil Simpson, Business Development Manager, TSA. “It is fantastic that people are utilising this unique opportunity to open up their classic to network of interested buyers both in attendance at the event and through our online bidding platform.”

Save Money Shop Sustainably

As many of us are tightening our belts with the cost of living crisis having an impact and the growing urgency to shop more sustainably, there’s never been a better time to buy from online auctions. As well as saving yourself potentially huge amounts of money, when you give a new home to an item that isn’t necessarily brand new, you’re saving it from landfill and reducing the need for constant overproduction.

Retail Returns, Liquidations and Surplus If you’re new to the exciting world of retail returns, let us tell you more. Retailers receive back a huge volume of returned stock, some of which goes back on the shelves, but much of it needs to reach the secondary market. We handle regular auctions of items from major UK retailers, both individual lots and the opportunities to buy bulk pallets. Gone are the days when buying used goods was looked down upon and if a returned item is nearly new you can get incredible value. Why pay full price when you can snap up a retail return for a fraction of the original cost? If you punt for a pallet of raw returns you could bag yourself some serious bargains as well as the potential for reselling the items separately, as many of our loyal buyers do and create an income stream from it. Pallets feature a selection of related items packed together.

Here you could pick up a Sage Oracle coffee machine for example, and a collection of other desirable brands for a fraction of their retail prices. Of course, these are raw returns so some items will be better than others. You’ll know what products you’ll receive, just not what condition they are in until you open up your delivery…but that’s part of the excitement of these type of auctions. Liquidated and surplus stock, much like retail returns, provides the opportunity to save a fortune on RRPs and to save goods from potentially having to be wasted. With liquidations and surplus, you’ll often find brand new, sealed items that just so happen to have ended up on the secondary market for various reasons, often that they are simply end of season…and does that really matter if we’re talking about a washing machine or coffee maker?! Choosing to shop this way, means you’re being kind to your wallet and your planet at the same time. What’s not to love about that?!
