WELCOME

Welcome to Eyrie Theatre Company’s presentation of Rock of Ages, Middle School Edition. We are so excited and grateful that you are here, and we hope you have a great time in this wonderful venue! This year has been especially difficult for live theater productions, so we are beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to present this fun, high-energy jukebox musical to a live audience! Rock of Ages is a musical about hope, something we need more of in this time of isolation and fear. It’s about following your dreams and your heart, no matter how difficult, and discovering your own unique voice. This show is also about being part of a community and helping each other through the hard times. That message of community is one that we at Holy Trinity and Eyrie Theatre Company, especially, emphasize with our students. We are dedicated to building community, first and foremost. Our theatre company is a place where students can take risks, step out of their comfort zones, and gain a different perspective in a place that is safe and accepts everyone. This year, that community has become more important than ever before, and I am especially proud of our students for helping each other, lifting each other up through the hard times, and creating an amazing, uplifting show together! We are privileged and blessed to be a part of helping students discover their special gifts and talents, and we are beyond proud to offer the opportunity to participate in theater to students in grades 1 through 8 this year. As the saying goes, “The show must go on!”, and our students have taken that to heart! Thank you so much for coming to the show and supporting Holy Trinity’s Eyrie Theatre Company. Enjoy the show!

D E A R F R I E N D S & FA M I L I E S We are thrilled you can join us for this dynamic show! As everyone can attest, this year there has been nothing normal in our approach to working with students. This musical is a testament to the planning, work, and energy it has taken to overcome all the obstacles that COVID has thrown our way. Mrs. Harrington and the entire cast and crew have worked exceptionally hard on this production over the last several months. Along the way, they have developed an outstanding community that supports and encourages each other to take risks on the stage and to find their potential as performing artists. Our Eyrie Theatre Company continues to grow with around 40% of our student population normally involved in our performing arts. We are extremely proud of the talent and passion these students and adults possess to put on such incredible performances. Holy Trinity is a blessed, Catholic community unlike any in the Archdiocese of Louisville. It is one where, a few short years ago, we had a dream of a state-of-the-art theater for our students, and now we have this space where that dream can be realized. We are in an aggressive and bold campaign to renovate and modernize this charming theater, not just for our students, but for students across the Archdiocese and the City of Louisville. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to follow their passions and dreams and do so in a place that can showcase their talents to the fullest. We need everyone’s help to make this dream a reality. Our wonderful theater needs a new stage, new wiring, new lights, and new sound equipment. Built in 1929, the Eifler Theater has hosted performances and productions for almost 100 years, and we need to invest in it now so it can endure another 100 years. In order for us to get started on the first phase of renovations, we need to raise another $300,000. It is truly an investment that will positively impact the lives of your children and grandchildren. I ask that you prayerfully consider donating to our theater program in a meaningful way. Our goal is to have next year’s performance in a newly renovated theater and showcase the powerful impact of your investment on the lives of these students. Thank you for your support of Holy Trinity’s Eyrie Theatre Company. We hope you enjoy the show!

We are in the midst of a parish-wide initiative to build faith and family within our parish and to better serve more children and families. The For Every Child Campaign consists of four funding priorities: 1. Opening the Holy Trinity Clifton Campus School and subsequent renovation of classrooms and multi-functional spaces 2. Installing two new, fully accessible playgrounds on the Holy Trinity St. Matthews campus 3. Renovating the historic Eifler Theater, located on the Holy Trinity Clifton Campus 4. Enhancing our existing church nursery to accommodate more families with young children Our campaign is achieving great things so far! As of March 25th, we have raised $2.33 million toward our goal of $4 million. We’ve successfully installed two new, fully accessible playgrounds, and opened the first Catholic school to serve students with language-based learning differences. We are making every effort to begin the first phase of renovations to the beautiful, historic Eifler Theater this summer so that our students can return to a state-of-the-art space next spring. In order to do so, we must secure another $300,000 in commitments by May 2021. We are asking each and every parishioner, family, and community member to prayerfully consider supporting our For Every Child initiatives and our ministry to serve more children.

O U R 8 T H G R A D E R S : A F I N A L C U R TA I N C A L L Mateo Rodriguez Agusti (Stacee Jaxx; Groupies/Protesters/etc…) (Trinity) Eyrie Theatre Company was a nice outlet for me to express my creativity. It is fun to do and an amazing experience. I would say everyone should try the musicals to build strong relationships with their peers. Nally Bergeron (Pre-Show Announcer/ Mayor; Groupies/Protesters/etc…) (Sacred Heart) Participating in Holy Trinity theater has been a great experience for me. It is so much fun. I have really enjoyed hanging out and getting to know people in other grades. The cast this year is my favorite one yet! We all cheer each other on and lift each other up. I am so happy we were able to put on a show this year!!! Lucy Breit (Justice Charlier) (Sacred Heart) In the Eyrie Theatre Company, I have

been in the productions of Shrek, Beauty and The Beast, and this years Rock of Ages. For people that love acting, creative freedom, singing, technology, crafts, dancing, and just making friends, I would definitely recommend participating in shows. The people there are lovely, and Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Sharp make sure that everyone is having a good time and understands their role and has fun with it. Plus, Mrs. Harrington is so expressive and free of 'getting a little crazy' and showing her emotions, that you won't feel uncomfortable when acting. I know it's commonly said, but it's true that this theater company is like another family to me, and I'm so glad for the things I've learned here and for the people I have gotten to meet.

O U R 8 T H G R A D E R S : A F I N A L C U R TA I N C A L L Cassidy Demling (Regina; Featured Dancer) (Assumption) I have loved being a part of Eyrie Theatre Company for the past few years. I have been in these musicals since kindergarten and have always loved everything about them. I loved being able to grow as a person and a performer, but the best part is the community. We all feel like a big family and we have made so many new friendships from the musicals. Lauren Elder (Waitress #1; Dance Captain) (Assumption) I have been a part of the Eyrie Theatre Company for three years. I have loved every second of it and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I think other people should join the Eyrie Theatre Company because you will have the time of your life, and you will become a family with the people you act with so fast. I am so glad we got to have a show this year, and I am so excited for everyone to see our Rock of Ages. Ava Emberson (Properties; Props/Set Crew) (Assumption) I am so proud to have been a part of the Eyrie Theatre Props Crew for four years! I have so many good memories from working back stage, creating props and helping out with the musical. Abby Gentner (Props/Set Crew) (Dupont Manual MST magnet) I have done props for the play since the 6th grade and have always had a blast. It is so amazing to see how the props enhance the actor’s performance on stage. I will definitely miss being a part of this group. Thank you, Mrs. Harrington, and everyone on the props team for making it a truly memorable experience. Will Hammer (Dennis Dupree; Stage Crew) (Trinity) I joined the Holy Trinity 14

theater program in the 6th grade and was in the crew. I knew all my friends were joining, so I thought why not? That was one of the best decisions of my life. After that year, I was motivated by Mrs. Harrington to join the cast, and the next year I did and loved the experience even more. I am sad to be leaving! Isabella Hoelscher (Waitress #2) (Sacred Heart) I really loved being a part of Eyrie Theatre. It helped me find new friends and I think it’s really amazing to see the end result. I think everyone should try it because it is such a great experience. Maddie Mercer (Hilda Klinemann; Groupies/Protesters/etc…) (Assumption) Eyrie theatre company has been the highlight of my middle school years. We have such an amazing cast and crew every year. We’re truly like family. Eyrie theatre has taught me so much and a great overall experience! Lydia Morgan (Protester #1; Featured Dancers; Groupies/Protesters/etc…) (Manual) I’ve only been with EYRIE Theatre this year, but I’ve loved my experience. There is such an amazing community and getting to know other members. The EYRIE Theatre company is fun for everyone, both behind scenes and on stage. Davis Russell (Digital Background Crew) (Trinity) Being in Eyrie Theater productions is a great way to step out of your comfort zone. By doing so, you will have a lot of fun and meet new friends. Scarlette Shaughnessy (Protester #2; Featured Dancer; Groupies/Protesters/ etc…) (Mercy Academy) My musical theatre experience with Holy Trinity has been one I’ll remember for the rest of my life. The relationships and memories

O U R 8 T H G R A D E R S : A F I N A L C U R TA I N C A L L that you make in the time that you are there are so special and meaningful. It’s nice to talk to other people that can relate to you, which can be hard to find sometimes. I’m so grateful to be in a musical theatre program like this one. Ben Scobee (Drew Boley) (Trinity) I love The Eyrie Theater Company because everyone is nice and accepting of all kids and abilities. It’s a fun and

positive environment. I would strongly recommend it. Caroline Scobee (Waitress #3) (Sacred Heart) The Eyrie Theater Company has been such an amazing experience and I am so grateful for it. The past three years have taught me so much about myself and theater in general. I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to do it! You won’t regret it!
