Welcome to Eyrie Theatre Company’s presentation of Shrek, The Musical, Jr. We are so excited and grateful that you are here, and we hope you have a great time in this wonderful venue! Shrek, The Musical, Jr. is not only a fun and hilarious show with incredible music, it is also a very relevant show with an important message, “What makes us special, makes us strong!” That message is one that we at Holy Trinity and Eyrie Theatre Company, especially, emphasize with our students. We are dedicated to building community, first and foremost. Our theatre community is a place where students can take risks, step out of their comfort zones and gain a different perspective in a place that is safe and accepts everyone. In other words, you can “Let Your Freak Flag Fly”! We are privileged and blessed to be a part of helping students discover their special gifts and talents, and we are beyond proud to offer the opportunity to participate in theatre to students in grades K through 8. Eyrie Theatre Company started 9 years ago with 19 students. Our program has grown to include 278 students, 40% of our student body, participating in musical theatre for the 2018-2019 school year! Thank you so much for coming to the show and supporting Holy Trinity’s Eyrie Theatre Company. Enjoy the show!

Thank you for coming to our junior high production of Shrek, The Musical, Jr.! We hope you enjoy the show and our Holy Trinity Clifton Campus. We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity for our students to perform in this beautiful and charming theater. Our goal at Holy Trinity is to provide a well-rounded education for all of our students, and I believe this Trinity is to provide a well-rounded education for all of our students, a testament to our community’s commitment to this endeavor. I personally want to thank Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Helm for their work with our students. Our cast and crew have exceeded one one hundred students, and we couldn’t be prouder of the energy and talent within the halls of Holy Trinity. Break a leg Holy Trinity! As you exit the theater, please feel free to walk around and view the entire building. On the floor where the theater is located, you may notice construction occurring in the halls and classrooms. Holy Trinity is proud to announce that we will be opening a school for students with language-based learning differences in August of 2019. Mrs. Paula Watkins (502-896-8480), the head of school, can assist you with any questions you may have about this opportunity to provide a Catholic education for these students. Finally, please know the theater and the reception hall on the lower level are available to rent and can accommodate almost any gathering, meeting, or event. Ann Drury (502-896-8480) can assist you with details. Enjoy the show and Go Eagles!

...A Final Curtain Call: We would like to take the opportunity to to recognize our 8th grade students and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming high school years. We’re proud of you all! Molly Allen (Pig 2) I participated in The Little Mermaid and Shrek. My favorite musical theatre memory is when I walked on stage for the first time when I performed in The Little Mermaid. I was so excited but nervous at the same. I could feel the energy from the crowd and that is what made me feel comfortable and ready to perform! Jake “Boff” Baughman (Crew Ninja) This is my first season in the theatre and I love it. As a behindthe-scenes kind of kid, I decided to join the Shrek crew on a whim. I enjoy seeing my work make a difference in how each scene comes alive. There’s something for everyone in Holy Trinity Theatre and it is a lot of fun being part of the theatre community. Leo Carias (Knight 1) Shrek will be my second play as part of the HT theater group. My first performance ever was as a flying monkey in last year’s Wizard of Oz. There are many reasons why I think people should join the play, but the biggest reason for me is your friends. The play gives you a great opportunity to hang out outside of sports and school. You could also hangout with people you normally wouldn’t hang out with. The play has given me the opportunity to hang out with more of the kids in 7th grade. I also think that Theater lets you do something outside of school that isn’t a sport and isn’t very time consuming which lets everyone focus on the play when you are at play. Those are the reasons why I think students should be involved in the play. Shelby Davis (Adult Fiona) I have been involved with Holy Trinity musical theatre for seven years now. In the past, I played a chef, farmer, stink bug, St. Bernard, zebra fish, princess, and Aunt Em! I am thrilled to be playing Adult Fiona in my last show with Eyrie Theatre Company. I’m a huge believer in the arts, and I think that it is a great way for students to express themselves and become confident in front of an audience. Elise Elder (Storyteller 1) I started my career in kindergarten with Barnyard Moosical followed by Arf!, The Little Mermaid and The Wizard of Oz. My most memorable experience was meeting the Broadway cast of the Little Mermaid and performing for them. Being in theatre has meant hanging out with people I might not have had class with and growing closer to my class/cast mates. I think students should be in theatre to have a new experience under their belt and learn something new while meeting new people. Nicholas Frey (Knight 2 /Fiona’s Father / Duloc Performer) I have been on crew, a rowboat man, and I am now a knight. This is my third year with Eyrie Theatre company. Being in Eyrie Theatre Company has meant a lot to me. It has shown me how much work can be done in six short months. I have worked really hard and made friends with people I would have not otherwise been friends with. Overall being with Eyrie Theatre Company has been a great time and I wish I could be there longer. Abby Fulton (The Fairy Godmother) I’ve been involved in Holy Trinity theatre since the second grade minus a couple of productions. Last year we did the Wizard of Oz, and I was a winkie guard and emerald city ensemble. This year I am The Fairy Godmother. One of my favorite memories from theatre was during Wizard of Oz last year when we went on stage and everybody clapped for the winkie guards. It was a great feeling. Lilly Gaunt (Storyteller 2) This is my 3rd season acting in the annual Holy Trinity play. It’s been an amazing experience learning how far I can push myself to learn new and challenging things. Acting in the play the past 3 years has allowed me to meet new friends and learn from everyone. My favorite memory is the feeling you get when you’ve completed a show and realize all your hard work paid off! This is an experience I will never forget. Thank you to all my family, friends and teachers for the support!

Sydney Greenamyer (Storyteller 3) I have loved every minute of the last seven years in the Eyrie Theatre Company. In The Little Mermaid I played a seagull, fish, and poor unfortunate soul. In The Wizard of Oz I played a munchkin, jitterbug, flying monkey, and Ozian. I think theatre gives kids a judgement-free place for self expression. I have learned to let my freak flag fly and will truly miss Eyrie, but can’t wait for Assumption! Sam Hayward (Papa Ogre and Mad Hatter) This is my second year with the Eyrie Theater Company. I am playing the part of Papa Ogre in our production of Shrek The Musical. Last year, I was Uncle Henry in our production of The Wizard of Oz. To me, Holy Trinity theater means having a loving and caring family. I encourage all students to get involved in this wonderful experience. Emily Holland (Backstage Crew Member) I have been a backstage crew member for three years. My favorite memory is from one of my first shows. We did “The Little Mermaid” and before the dinner scene, we put out the table, chair, and place settings. The table was the same one from the kitchen scene beforehand. In the darkness, we left the cook’s butcher knife on one of the plates. It was so funny to see the dressed up table with a large knife as the main dish. Luckily, it wasn’t a large prop so it slid by mostly unnoticed. Reid Cameron McAdams (Knight 3) This is my second time participating in the HTPS theatrical production. Last year I was a flying monkey & a munchkin in the ‘The Wizard of Oz’. This year I am a Knight and a Duloc performer. The best part of being a part of the Eyrie theater company is learning from Mrs. Harrington, spending time with old and new friends, and the ability to rehearse on the actual performance stage. Teddy Meiers (Shrek) I’ve been in three shows in the Eyrie Theatre Company, starting in 6th grade with The Little Mermaid. I played Sailor #4, Turtle #3, and Chef #8. In The Wizard of Oz, I played the role of Cowardly Lion, and this year, I can’t wait to perform as Shrek. I love playing sports, but I also enjoy the thrill of being on stage! My favorite memory of being in Holy Trinity theatre was making great friends with the other sailors in The Little Mermaid. We had a blast together. Everyone should consider participating in theatre at Holy Trinity because it gives you a place to freely express yourself and to sing and dance in a comfortable environment---and it’s a lot of fun! Jeanie Mooser (Pig 3) I have been in The Wizard of Oz and Shrek. In the Wizard of Oz I was a munchkin and a flying monkey. I have been doing Holy Trinity theatre for two years. I think kids should be involved in the theatre because it helps you bond with not only the people in your grade but the people in grades above and below you. Keely Morrissey (The Big Bad Wolf) I have been in the Eyrie Theater Company for the last two years. I was a sound technician for the Wizard of Oz musical last year. Theater has become my favorite part of the week and I always look forward to it. I have never experienced being in theater until I came to Holy Trinity in 7th grade. There I found a supportive family that means the world to me. Theater is a big part of me and my life thanks to ETC. My favorite part of theater is putting so much effort into creating this fantastic show with the rest of the cast and seeing it all come together in the end. ETC was a truly magical experience and I will miss it so much! Keiko Ohta (Mama Bear) I am an eighth grader at Holy Trinity and this is my third year with the Eyrie Theatre Company. In previous years, I was ensemble in The Little Mermaid Jr, an apple tree in The Wizard of Oz, and I am Mama Bear in this years production of Shrek Jr. My most memorable moments with ETC were all the call times before opening night. Being in Holy Trinity’s theatre has been a huge growing experience for me. I believe that students should be involved with theatre because one can learn so much about themselves by being exposed to the arts. Ava Pisacrita (Peter Pan) My name is Ava Pisacrita and this is my second year of doing Holy Trinity’s school play. Last year, I was a munchkin and a guard in the Wizard of Oz. This year, I am Peter Pan. The most memorable thing about musical theatre is how much fun I’ve had with all my friends. I’ve also played a lot of sports my whole life and theatre has given me an opportunity to try something new. Sophia Marie Reibel (Fairy Tale Characters) This is my second year with the Eyrie Theatre Company. In Wizard of Oz I was the Haunted Tree, Optimistic Voice. I have been involved with Musical Theater with Mrs. Harrington since the first grade. Students should be a part of the HT Eyrie Theatre Company to get involved and to meet friends from other grades you wouldn’t normally get to know through classes. Izzi Schmitt (Puss in Boots) There are way too many reasons why I loved being a part of Holy Trinity’s Theatre program, but I loved being in The Little Mermaid in 6th Grade. All of the dancing and singing was super fun, and I loved every second of it! Theatre has been a way for me to open myself up to an audience, and it has also helped me step out of my comfort zone. It is super fun, you get to make a lot of new friends and is always a blast! I suggest everyone try out theatre at least once in their time at HT.

Jacqueline Teague (Wicked Witch) I started the theater program as a kindergarten student in the Barnyard Moosical as an ‘utterly amoosing cow.’ I haven’t missed a performance since then, except the one time my mother didn’t turn the permission slip in on time. I have loved being a part of the Holy Trinity Musicals and I feel so fortunate to have benefited from such wonderful instruction! Thanks to all my teachers and staff that have assisted me each year and allowed me to really soar! We can’t wait to see the Wicked Witch and all the Shrek Cast! Addi Vandermeer (Donkey) This is my sixth year being in the play at Holy Trinity. In the a Little Mermaid I was Adela, Ariel’s sister. In the Wizard of Oz I was the Mayor of Munchkinland, a jitterbug, and an optimistic voice. This year, I am Donkey! Next year I will really miss Eyrie Theatre Co, but I am excited for high school! Maggie Vanetti (Gingy) My most memorable Holy Trinity Theatre experience was during the production of The Little Mermaid. In The Little Mermaid I was a fish, and the best part was getting to see the costumes. Before then I couldn’t really imagine the play in my head, but then I saw the costumes and the whole play just started to create itself in my head. Seeing all the costumes is my favorite part and most memorable experience at Holy Trinity Theatre. Amelia Walz (Dragon) I’ve been involved in many plays throughout my 9 years at my school. In sixth grade I was a princess in The Little Mermaid. In seventh grade I was Glinda the Good Witch in The Wizard of Oz. This year, I’m the Dragon in Shrek. I’m so excited to perform for you and I hope you enjoy the musical. Ashley Weis (Pied Piper and Sugar Plum Fairy) This is my third year being a part of Holy Trinity’s musicals. In The Little Mermaid I was a Seagull and a Jellyfish, in The Wizard of Oz I was a Jitterbug and a Munchkin. This year in Shrek I am the Pied Piper and Sugar Plum Fairy. I recommend all incoming 6th graders to join the play because it a very good way to make friends and is so much fun. Special Thanks to Michelle Harrington! From the students, parents and entire Holy Trinity family, we want to thank you for your creativity and vision in bringing the magic of musical theater to us all. The time and dedication you invest in these performers is greatly appreciated and will live with each of them forever. Bravo!
