WELCOME TO KENTUCKY PERFORMING ARTS
Derby season is one of my favorite times of year. The annual celebration gives us a chance to come together and celebrate our community, while also placing Louisville, and Kentucky, in the international spotlight. The Derby Season also means summertime is right around the corner and this summer we are coming out of the gate strong with a number of events, both on and off of our stages.
The Tony Award® winning sensation Hadestown makes its Louisville debut in The Kentucky Center’s Whitney Hall, followed by Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin’s adaption of Harper Lee’s masterwork To Kill A Mockingbird. Louisville’s Keen Dance Theatre presents a powerful new work PSYCHEDELIC in The Kentucky Center’s Bomhard Theater. Guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel, GGP, returns to Louisville performing with Richard Smith in the Brown Theatre. Harlan County, Kentucky’s own vocalist/songwriter/composer/educator Martha Redbone brings her Roots Project, an evening of songs and storytelling, to Louisville for one night only. And that’s just to name a few of the performances coming to The Kentucky Center, Brown Theatre, and Old Forester’s Paristown Hall. To view the full calendar, visit our website KentuckyPerformingArts.org
Summer is also time for our Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) program, of which I am a proud alumna. GSA brings together Kentucky’s finest young artists for three weeks of instruction in an arts intensive environment, with cross-discipline learning, special guest artist performances and lectures, and the opportunity to access critical life-changing college scholarships. This summer, we are thrilled to one again offer two sessions at the University of Kentucky, which will provide this amazing opportunity to more than 500 students. To learn more about GSA, including ways you can help support, please visit KentuckyGSA.org .
Plus, later this year The Kentucky Center, Kentucky’s premiere performing arts center, celebrates its 40th Birthday! We have some really exciting events planned for our Ruby Anniversary Season and I encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and join our free e-club at KentuckyPerformingArts.org , to make sure you receive updates.
I thank you for joining us this evening. It is through your continued support we are able to sustain our mission to bring artistic inspiration and education to the Commonwealth and region. The bets are in and the gates are open, and “we’re off” to another great spring and summer season!
Enjoy the show.

GET THE LED OUT
Friday, May 12, 2023 | 8:00PM | The Brown Theatre
Get The Led Out is a group of professional musicians who are passionate about their love of the music of Led Zeppelin. It's been their mission to bring the studio recordings of "The Mighty Zep" to life on the big concert stage. This is not an impersonator act but rather a group of musicians who were fans first, striving to do justice to one of the greatest bands in rock history!
PAUL SINCLAIR
For lead vocalist Paul Sinclair, singing is quite simply in his blood. Adopted at five days old, and without any knowledge of his ancestry, Sinclair naturally gravitated towards music and the arts growing up. It wasn't until investigating his lineage in his twenties that he discovered he had come from a line of opera singers

in Madrid, Spain. Sinclair's biological grandparents, baritone José García
Fernández Olaria and soprano Ana Romero Campos had seven children. Three of which came to prominence in the music world in the 1950s and 60s... Ana Maria Olaria, Amparo de Lerma, and Tito Mora.
A child of the 1970s, Paul developed a profound love and passion for the music of the era. This wonderful soundtrack would go on to mold, shape, and compel him on his musical journey. Whether it be The Beatles and The Stones, Zeppelin and Aerosmith, or The Bee Gees and Donna Summer... these iconic artists ignited a burning desire within Paul that could only be satisfied by screaming from the mountaintops!
In the early 1980s Paul began putting bands together. In late 1984 while searching for a guitarist/writing partner, Sinclair met guitarist Paul Hammond. The two had an instant bond over their love of the classic rock greats, as well as a similar vision for their future. Sinclair and Hammond immediately began writing songs and searching for a bassist and drummer to round out the band and get giggin'!
With the band in place, Sinclair and Hammond went on to write and record two full-length albums, and perform in countless venues on the east coast U.S.A. under the band name "Sinclair." "Sinclair", at one time managed by radio promo legend Joe Reagoso (Warner/ Elektra/Atlantic, MCA, RCA) played many high profile shows and shared the bill with such notable acts as Foghat, Zebra, Savoy Brown, The Bullet Boys, Kevin Dubrow (Quiet Riot), David Ruffin of The Temptations, and many more.
In the fall of 2003 Paul Sinclair was contacted by a couple of local
Philadelphia area musicians who were putting together a Led Zeppelin tribute band and in need of a singer. Paul had no interest in doing the "impersonator thing," but agreed to help the guys with one show. He immediately enlisted the help of Paul Hammond to add the musical chops and stability required to pull it off. The idea of performing "The Mighty Zep's" catalog in concert just as it's heard on record was suggested by Sinclair, but not well received. However, with time and some lineup changes, Sinclair's vision soon became reality and Get The Led Out was born.
Sinclair, a BMI affiliated songwriter, is also an engineer/producer who along with Hammond owns Fat City Studios just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Paul’s engineering, production, and mastering credits can be found on countless independent and national releases worldwide.
Sinclair's influences are varied, though there are two musical legends whose impact on him is undeniable. Besides the obvious role that Robert Plant’s work has played in shaping Sinclair’s vocal stylings, there is one other stand-out influence… Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. So much so that Paul appeared on national television when he was chosen to perform as Tyler on the Dick Clark Production "Your Big Break."
In the summer of 2014 Paul joined The Zac Brown Band in concert for a version of Zeppelin's classic "Whole Lotta Love" at the PNC Center in Holmdel, NJ, and at Bethel Woods in Bethel, NY.
In late 2015 Paul was fortunate enough to be asked to lend his Plant-esque vocals to the new Martin Scorsese - Mick Jagger produced HBO TV series Vinyl.

The KY Lottery has raised over $4.4 BILLION for college scholarships and grants.
In Get The Led Out, Paul has found what he describes as a "dream career". Keeping this important music alive for future generations is a passion-filled calling for him. Most importantly, Paul Sinclair is a huge Led Zeppelin fan who strives to “do justice” to what he considers to be one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

“I would show up to do some tech work and they would be working on the most amazing tracks like the Rolling Stones or Aerosmith, and they would show me all the techniques they were using to get that hit quality sound — I love those guys!” As a result of this association Paul ended up working for Ted Greenberg at the now legendary Big Zone Audio, which was housed in the same Studio 4 complex. Paul would rebuild Ted’s vintage API mixing console, play some guitar, and work with bands and musicians that they were recording at the time. Other past projects include writing and playing guitar tracks on Time Warner and Comcast radio and TV commercials for Chris Zurzolo at D4TV of Philadelphia. One of the commercials Hammond played on was broadcast regionally during the 2006 Super Bowl!
Current Projects: Paul often works at Rob Hyman’s (The Hooters, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Osborne), privately owned and operated Elmstreet studios as an associated engineer/technical consultant. His latest projects include selecting and customizing a Martin D28 acoustic guitar at the Martin factory in Nazareth PA with JR Warner, Paul Sinclair and head of artist relations Dick Boak, for Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and flying it to England to deliver it. Having a custom built Martin acoustic guitar made to auction for the charity ABC Trust UK, Custom building a 6-string electric Les Paul Junior and an 8-string octave mandolin double neck with his father E.E. Hammond for Eric Bazilian to play on the 2007 Hooters European tour. Playing guitar and mandolin in Get The Led Out, “The American Led Zeppelin.” Playing guitar for “Sinclair,” and running mastering sessions at Fat City Studios with Paul Sinclair. His work has landed him numerous album and CD credits
on AMG (All Music Guide) and a voting membership with the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences, or “NARAS,” the organization that hosts the Grammy awards.
Paul Hammond’s influences are many. From Chet Atkins and Franny Beecher to Jimmy Page and Hendrix, he’s been inspired by the masters. In Get The Led Out, Hammond is able to put this background to the test as Zeppelin’s music has such diverse ingredients. Paul says, “One of my favorite bands and influences was always Led Zeppelin, so performing their music live is very satisfying.”
TOMMY ZAMP
After moving to New York in 2006, within a few short months Tommy joined the NYC rock band Fixer. Soon after, they signed a deal with Riker Hill Records, began touring nationally, and had the pleasure of working with the late Bill Aucoin, former manager for Kiss.
While touring with Fixer and other hired projects, Tommy had the opportunity to share the stage with rock bands like The Beastie Boys, Blondie, Blue Oyster Cult, and Theory of a Deadman, and played with members of Candelbox, Fuel, and Tantric.
After Fixer, Tommy started his band Circus Life and has been touring across the US and UK. With two Circus Life releases and his debut solo album
"You Don't Know Me" under his belt, Tommy is now ramping up to release a new song each month for 2021. The first four songs are available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and all other streaming platforms. Since 2015, Tommy has been performing 200+ shows a year in NYC and the tri-state area.

PHIL D'AGOSTINO
Phil D'Agostino is well known in the Philadelphia area and beyond as an in demand touring bassist, session musician, and music educator. In addition to his sideman work, Phil has released two records of original compositions. "Inlets" in 2013, and "Music from a Sinking Ship" in 2009. Both records received considerable airplay, and he has been fortunate enough to perform his music with his band at venues such as the Kimmel Center and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, and Rockwood Music Hall in New York City.
As a session musician, Phil has done major label work for Grammy winning producers in magnificent studios, played bass on bedroom and basement recordings with indie and folk artists, and everything in between. Stylistically versatile, his recording credits include rock, country, jazz, soul, reggae, classical, etc. In 2014 he produced "County Line", the debut full length record from singer songwriter Irene Molloy.
Phil has accompanied countless singers and songwriters throughout his career, including Scot Sax, Ben Arnold, Chris Kasper, and Pete Donnelly. He was
ADAM FERRAIOLI
It all started when I heard my first Led Zeppelin record, THAT'S how I wanted to play the drums! John Bohnam's thunderous, bombastic beat just drove the band!" That driving force behind Led Zeppelin is what Adam Ferraioli still tries to duplicate to this day. There were other drummers that inspired him such as Jerry Shirley (Humble Pie), Keith Moon (The Who), and Clive Bunker (Jethro Tull) to name a few, but none had near the impact on Adam that Bohnam's playing did." Though he was a technically great player, it was his feel that really got me. It's off the charts!"
Over the years Adam has played in many Philadelphia-based bands including "Britney Fox", "Tangier", and his first cover band "Thrust" who did a set of

Zeppelin every night. "We were pretty good back then. Rob, our singer in Thrust did a great job singing Plant! There were a lot of bands trying to play Zeppelin in those days, but most of them didn't have the vocals to cut it! I remember getting off the stage back then and falling over after playing a set of Zep. We really put our hearts into it! That’s what persuaded me to join GTLO. Their passion for music and performing it the best way possible is second to none!"
Adam also played with guitarist Jimmy Marchiano off and on for ten years. "Once Jimmy and [guitarist] Paul Hammond played together for the first time, they knew there was something special there! "We all knew," recalls Adam. "Once we were all in rehearsal together it just felt like a family! The tones, the feel, everything just felt
right." The addition of Andrew Lipke on keyboards/guitar/vocals etc... just put "the icing on the cake" according to Adam. "We really needed Andrew in the band, he's an incredible person and an incredible musician. He added the finishing touch the band needed to reproduce the music of Led Zeppelin even closer than before! I couldn't imagine playing with any other band! To me there isn't any other band, besides of course, Led Zeppelin!"
EDDIE KUREK
Eddie Kurek is a multi-instrumentalist born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. As a teenager, Eddie immersed himself in music with the help of The Paul Green School of Rock. He very quickly became proficient on drums, guitar, keyboards, and vocals.
A U D I E N C E 11
This enabled him to begin writing, recording, and performing his own songs. Immediately following high school, Eddie formed the original/cover band "IV Stone". He chose the most iconic cover songs from every genre, and created a set list to please people of all ages. This required him to expand his singing style and range to cover artists from Michael Jackson, to Robert Plant, to Frank Sinatra. After five and a half years of hard work and fierce commitment, Eddie and IV Stone amassed a large fan base and grew their touring schedule to over 100 performances a year. While getting his "on the job" training in the clubs, Eddie continued his formal music training at Kutztown University and received his Bachelor's degree in Music Performance.
Now, in Get The Led Out, Eddie brings his passion for rock and mad multi-skills to the party! When he’s not on the road with GTLO, Eddie continues to write songs and perform with IV Stone.
IN LOVING MEMORY, DIANA DESANTIS
Lending years of experience as a singer in many bands performing on the Philadelphia club circuit, Diana’s talented voice brings to life the multiple harmonies and call and answer vocal (originally recorded by Sandy Denny of Fairport Convention) on this classic acoustic track from Led Zeppelin’s fourth album.

conversations. Audiences have been “…blown away by the musicality and harmonies, creativity, honesty, beauty. BRANDON RATCLIFF
Born and raised in Cotton Valley, LA and signed to Monument Records, Brandon Ratcliff burst onto the scene in 2019 with his debut single “Rules of Breaking Up.” After a year of highlights including
opening for Kelsea Ballerini, Brett Young, and Keith Urban, being selected as a Pandora Ones to Watch artist, and topping topped Rolling Stone’s all-genre Breakthrough Artists chart, the world came to a screeching halt in 2020. At a crossroads with his music, and his life, Ratcliff went back home to figure out who he was and what he wanted to say and write his next project.
Greatly influenced by the music of the Louisiana delta and the bluegrass engrained in his blood, Tale of Two Towns is a coming-of-age record that reads like a book of Ratcliff’s life these last few years. Emerging from the most revolutionary season of his life, he asks the listener to explore with him what it means to leave home and follow your dreams.

THEE PHANTOM & THE ILLHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
Saturday, May 13, 2023 | 8:00PM | The Kentucky Center-Bomhard Theater
THEE PHANTOM (MAESTRO) Thee Phantom, wrote his first rhyme at the age of 8 and made his first beat by mixing the instrumental from the Beastie Boys’ "Paul Revere" with Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony at age 12. The particular movement of Beethoven's 5th entitled, "Destiny", would prove to be both ironic and foretelling for the young musician.
In 2002, Phantom became the first Hip-Hop artist to perform at Philadelphia’s prestigious Kimmel Center with musical accompaniment from members of the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Phantom has since formed his own ensemble, dubbed The Illharmonic Orchestra and has toured the United States and Japan.

THE PHOENIX (MISTRESS OF CEREMONY)
The Phoenix, is a native of Queens, New York. She grew up immersed in the arts and found a strong appreciation for all genres of music at an early age. As a youth she studied flute, piano, dance and sang in her high school choir. She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she majored in dance, but always kept her passion for music, specifically singing, on the back burner.
Phoenix has toured Nationally and Internationally as a vocalist and MC and is featured on Phantom’s albums, Hero Complex, Making Of An Underdog and Maniac Maestro.
With an eye toward helping others reach their dreams, Phoenix and Phantom have raised over $10,000 for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
DJ PHILLY C (TURNTABLIST) DJ Philly C fell in love with music at a very young age. While the other kids were playing sports, board games, or breaking things at family events, you could find young Phil following his older brother, cousins, and uncle in and out of back rooms, home offices, and even guest bedrooms that were turned into makeshift DJ booths. His mentors went on to headline larger events — from birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, communions and Christenings, all the way up to large scale weddings — and young Phil was right behind them. Little did they know while their mixes muffled the sound of
their baby brother, cousin, and nephew mumbling the words, “Can I try?” that the annoying little boy would find a way to practice and master the craft of DJing and become “DJ Philly C.”
When a simple medical procedure turned into a series of severe surgeries, Phil endured a summer of being confined to the house. The recovery process was difficult, but much to his surprise, he stumbled upon a mixer; a component of his father’s home stereo that he never noticed was there. He finally had his chance to practice and perfect his skills. His passion for music, the hip hop culture, and DJing could finally be explored. He capitalized on this opportunity and completely immersed himself in the craft. The rest, as they say is history and led to who is now DJ Philly C, the tri-state area’s best kept secret.
