A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome to Eyrie Theatre Company’s presentation of Mary Poppins, Jr.

We are so excited to welcome you to our newly renovated Eiffler Theater, and we hope you have a great time watching these amazing students! Mary Poppins is not only such a fun show with huge dance numbers and music that sticks with you for days, but it’s also a show that has a very important message: with diligence, an open heart and a strong community behind you, anything can happen!

That message is one that we at Holy Trinity and Eyrie Theatre Company, especially, emphasize with our students. We are dedicated to building community, first and foremost. Our theatre community is a place where students can take risks, step out of their comfort zones and gain a different perspective in a place that is safe and accepts everyone. We work very hard as a community to recognize each student’s special gifts and talents and support their development as a performer and as a human being.

We are privileged and blessed to be a part of helping students discover their special gifts and talents, and we are beyond proud to offer the opportunity to participate in theatre to students in grades 1 through 8. Our theatre is now a state-of-the art facility to carry us into the future of performing arts education, and we are so very grateful for the kindness, diligence and generosity of our community who made it possible!

After years of dedication and hard work, we finally have a facility that matches the talent and abilities of our students. As Mary Poppins herself says … "Anything can happen if you let it!”

Thank you so much for coming to the show and supporting Holy Trinity’s Eyrie Theatre Company. Enjoy the show!

A NOTE FROM FR. SHAYNE AND PRINCIPAL RICHARDS:

We are thrilled you can join us for this amazing show! Mrs. Harrington and the entire cast and crew have worked exceptionally hard on this production over the last several months. Along the way, they have developed an outstanding community that supports and encourages each other to take risks on the stage and to find their potential as performing artists.

Our Eyrie Theatre Company continues to grow with around 30% of our student population involved in our performing arts. We are extremely proud of the talent and passion these students and adults possess to put on such incredible performances.

Holy Trinity is a blessed, Catholic community unlike any in the Archdiocese of Louisville. It is one where, a few short years ago, we had a dream of a state-of-the-art theater for our students, and now we have this amazing theater for our students. We are excited and proud to be able to have a venue that will allow all students the opportunity to follow their passions and dreams and do so in a place that can showcase their talents to the fullest.

We truly want to thank our community, especially those who donated to this theater as part of the For Every Child Campaign, for creating this dynamic theater. While the campaign has come to a close, the impact of the generosity of our community will be felt for generations to come.

Thank you for your support of Holy Trinity’s Eyrie Theatre Company.

We hope you enjoy the show!

8 TH GRADE FAREWELLS

SOPHIA BAKER (Miss Andrew, Park/City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble) During my time at Eyrie Theatre, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve made so many new friends, had new experiences and gotten to grow alongside my peers. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to make new friends or step out of their comfort zone while still having fun.

MADISON BAUCCO (Bird Woman, Park/ City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble) I have really enjoyed participating in musical theatre. I feel very lucky that I got to be a part of Eyrie Theatre Company because I met some of my greatest friends there, and discovered my true love for singing and performing. Over the years, I’ve had an amazing time singing and acting. I will miss having an exciting and memorable time with my friends who I have come to know better these past few years. I encourage everyone to join this company, and I am very grateful that I did. I am very grateful for all the memories I’ve made, and I’ll never forget my time here. I really love Eyrie Theatre Company and the memories and friends I’ve made here. I’ll miss all of you!

ANSLEY DEPAOLA (Park/City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble, Chimney Sweep) Doing theatre has given me the opportunity to express myself and make new friends. I loved doing Mary Poppins this year and Mrs. Harrington has taught me a lot.

HADLEY GERLACK (Mrs. Brill) Being in theatre was one of the best things I did at Holy Trinity. It’s such a fun way to express creativity, and Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Sharp always make me feel so welcomed into their shows. I’ll be so sad saying goodbye, but Holy Trinity musicals are something I will always buy tickets for in the future!

LIBBY GOHEEN (Park/City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble, Chimney Sweep) I’ve been doing theatre with Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Sharp for many years at Holy Trinity now. I’ve enjoyed every second of it with the community, company, but most importantly, the ones who helped me whenever I needed it and taught me so much. Eyrie Theatre Company has made me learn so many things and I am so grateful to be a part of it!

KAYLA GRUNEISEN (Miss Smythe, Park/ City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble) I remember my first time being in a theatre rehearsal. I was five and sitting in on my brother's Peter Pan rehearsal. I remember falling in love with theatre at that moment. Since then, I have been in every theater production I could be in. I have so many memories with my friends and castmates. I am very thankful that I got to be part of this theatre company, where I built so many great relationships. I would like to thank Mrs. Harrington, Mrs. Sharp, my friends and my family for always supporting me. I will miss Eyrie Theatre Company a lot!

EDEN HOELSCHER (Chairman, Shop Ensemble) I loved how accessible they were able to make Eyrie Theatre. When I used to do the plays, my dad used to have to come and lift me up onto the stage, but now they have a whole lift that can bring me up to the stage. I’ll most miss getting to know more people who aren’t in my grade. I met a lot of sixth and seventh graders who, without the plays, I probably wouldn’t have ever talked to. I think younger students should do the plays because they can meet new people and because you could find out that you love theatre and want to do it when you’re older.

8 TH GRADE FAREWELLS

MAGGIE HUGUES (Mary Poppins) When I participated in my first show at Holy Trinity, Bugz, I had no idea how much it would impact my life. As I prepare to take my final bow on this stage, I can’t help but think of everyone who has supported me throughout my journey at Holy Trinity. To my family and friends — thank you all so much for always being there for me and being so supportive. To Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Sharp — I can’t really put into words how large of an impact you’ve had on me, both as my teachers and as my directors. Thank you both SO much for motivating everyone to be the best that they can be, even when they feel down. To Ms. Sara Gettelfinger and everyone outside of school who has helped me on this journey — I applaud you! I’ve come a long way since that little firefly in first grade, and as I say goodbye to Holy Trinity and all of the characters I’ve played — Grandma, Mme. de la Grande Bouche and now, Mary — I know that they’ll never really leave me. This isn’t so much a “goodbye,” more of a “see you later.” I don’t know when, and I don’t know how, but I do know that I’ll definitely be back! I’ll miss everyone so much, but I know wholeheartedly that I’ll never forget my experiences at Eyrie Theatre Company.

MARYELIZABETH KOCH ( Winifred Banks) Mary Poppins has been such a fun play to be a part of, along with every other musical here at Holy Trinity. Mrs. Harrington has made such a huge impact on me, and I appreciate everything she and Mrs. Sharp do. I'm sad to say that this will be my last show here, but l had so much fun practicing for it, and I know it's going to be great!

ELLIE MARTIN (Policeman, Park/City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble, Chimney Sweep) These three years at Eyrie Theatre have

been the best of my life. I’ve made so many new friends I never would’ve made otherwise, and it helped me get out of my comfort zone. It helped shape who I am now, and I recommend for everyone to try it out and have fun!

LUCY PEREZ (Mrs. Corry, Park/City Ensemble) I am going to miss so much about being a part of the Eyrie Theatre Company. Doing the musicals these past three years has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I made so many new friends and became way closer to so many existing friends. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and encouraging here, and it always feels like one big family. There are so many traditions that I absolutely love, like the group chats and

the company party. I will always be able to look back on this amazing time in my life and be filled with joy!

JACK RENDA (George Banks) I’ve done Holy Trinity theatre for the last three years, and it’s definitely one of the best activities I’ve ever done. I’ve had tons of fun participating in the musical each year, and it’s one of the things I’ll miss the most next year. If you’re at all interested, definitely give it a try, you won’t regret it. Every year, we’ve had a great show, and I’m excited to see what Mrs. Harrington is planning for next year!

ABBY SMITH (Bert) I took a couple years off in elementary school from doing the plays, but in sixth grade I signed up to work the sound for The Addams Family. I was surprised at how I was immediately welcomed into the company’s community. The next year, I tried out for the play, Beauty and Beast, and I got the role of Gaston. This is my final year acting, and I don’t regret a second. I made so many friends and gained so much confidence. So much good has come of my time in the company, and I know I will always look back on my time here and smile.

NATALIE SOUCY (Katie Nanna, Park/City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble, Chimney Sweep) I have been a part of the Eyrie Theatre Company for a long time. I always have loved being a part of the cast, and I have made so many friends through these shows. This company is going to be one of the things I miss most about Holy Trinity.

ISABELLA WEST (Sweep 4, Park/City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble, Chimney Sweep) I’m going to miss the Eyrie Theatre Company! I have built countless friendships during the three years I’ve been part of this wonderful company.

I have also learned to challenge myself and test my abilities. I would not have had a chance to do so if it wasn’t for this incredible opportunity. I truly appreciate everyone who has invested their time and talents with me. I strongly recommend theatre to anyone who is looking to do it because it has been a growth experience that will live long after my days at HT.

EMERY WRIGHT (Park/City Ensemble, Shop Ensemble, Chimney Sweep) I’ve done so many shows with the Eyrie Theatre Company since I was little. They have had a great impact on who I am today, and I will miss my family at the theatre so much!
