Some Thoughts On Us, The Family International We are the called out ones, a new nation, the children of David. And my personal convictions are that if we get back to the Basics, of why we dropped out and joined The Family in the beginning, which wasn't merely to be good Christians, which we've all heard from our childhood and the vast majority of us totally rejected it, until David Brandt our Founder came along preaching
something that was so totally un-Christian from everything we previously heard, we were revolutionaries for Jesus, not Christians, we were the Jesus Revolution, not merely another Christian group or organization. And I still feel the same today. The very same revolution that Jesus himself started - two thousand years ago…in winning back some of our more on-fire and potential labor leaders of the 2nd generation ( Our teens of the 1980s - 2100s), I believe we of the first generation (teens of the 1960s) may need to change and be more like David was with us. We ourselves would never have followed some old bottle Mummy, and neither will our new bottle second generation. Hence the buck stops with us, we can't blame them (Our teens of the 1980s -2000s) for leaving something we would have never joined ourselves. So where are we today?
Compromised Church Members Or Endtime Prophets? (From Maria Fountain) It's clear that TFI has got to change, and when I say TFI, I mean you. You are the Family International… Your commitment to … discipleship is being weakened by the distractions or sins in your lives, and in addition to that, many of you are moving toward toning down our message, trying to fit in and be generally "accepted." Isn't that the age-old temptation of every revolution? With time, the natural tendency is to want to conform, to please man, to walk a more accepted path and be more "mainstream." Of course, the arguments for such a shift are many. I hear them a lot. … Obviously, we'll never please everyone. So the only thing to do is to determine what the Lord wants and then you can each choose where you stand. One thing Peter and I will not do, and what David never did, is to let others convince us that we need to compromise or conform for the sake of support, comfort, or to look good in the eyes of man. We are revolutionaries.
We are dropped out. We are prophets. Since when did the prophets of God give a convenient message that was accepted, so they could avoid rattling the masses or
preserve the status quo? They didn't! And neither will Peter and I. …We are not getting more mainstream or more acceptable if that means compromising the very important messages that the Lord has given us and expects us to be examples of. Again, this brings us back to the question of: Are we part of the established church system, along with
the millions of others? Or are we God's chosen Endtime mouthpieces? … What are you? It's not like we can blend into society and be just like everyone else for now, for the next X number of years, and then when things get hot in the Endtime we'll just morph into a radical, disciplined, united army of disciples. It doesn't work like that. We will be what we are becoming! What we'll be tomorrow depends on the choices we're making today. Are we becoming those Endtime prophets and disciples, or are we becoming compromised, lukewarm church members? We have to make the decisions today that will enable the Lord to fulfill His promises! It's a dayby-day process. We're either walking the walk of the dropped-out army God has intended us to be, or we're heading back into the System. This is a defining moment, a turning point for each of you and TFI as a whole. At this time in our history we have the opportunity to grow and be tremendously strengthened… …That's why He's even willing to allow suffering or persecution to various degrees in order to try to preserve the Family. So much has been invested in each of you. Each one of you is a unique creation of the Lord, trained and prepared. But you stand at a crossroads, and the threat of compromise and defeat is very real. All of the ways that … each individual's life is less fruitful due to compromise are part of the Enemy's attack on the future of the Family. …But now we must
all recognize that the
Lord is leading us back to more dedication and ‌ discipleship, as well as a purer sample of Jesus' teachings . (Maria Fountain. ML# 3364: 13 - 22)
HOW THE EARLY CHURCH WENT ASTRAY --After about two generations, until 1969 (From David Brandt Berg) THINGS KEPT GOING STRONG UNDER THE DISCIPLES WHO SAT AT JESUS' FEET, BUT THEN THINGS BEGAN TO CHANGE WITH THEIR DISCIPLES who had never seen Jesus. And it took only two generations to do it! Within two or three generations they had slowed down spiritually, stopped evangelising the world, cooled off in their ardour, grown cold in their love and frozen together into the same Roman System from which they had dropped out! HOW DID THEY GO ASTRAY? Well, it's been sort of an inevitable cycle of history that this is the way all governments and denominations and movements of various kinds revolve! THEY'RE BORN IN THE WHITE-HEAT OF THE FIRES OF INSPIRATION AND OF THE DESIRE FOR CHANGE, and, led by an anointed leader, they fight and die for the cause until they gain enough followers to come out from among them and be separate and touch not the unclean thing, and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness--and a new "Ecclesia" has been formed, the new "called-out ones", the new Church, the new dropouts! AND THEY REVEL IN THEIR NEW-FOUND FREEDOM, TRUTH AND BEAUTY, LOVE AND PEACE, until a new Pharaoh arises, a new leader and a new generation "which knew not Joseph"--who don't appreciate the freedom or the blessing because they've never known anything else.
THEY BECOME LAZY AND LETHARGIC, SELF-SATISFIED AND SELF-INDULGENT, with a false sense of security, out of touch with the original inspired leader and his teachings, and out of touch with God--asleep, content, "rich and increased with goods and having need of nothing" but actually, "wretched and naked and blind" in the sight of God! AND THE MOST SHOCKING THING ABOUT THIS CONDITION IS THAT THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW IT! It's like a creeping paralysis which steals up on them and they're dead before they know it! THANK GOD, I DON'T THINK THERE'S ENOUGH TIME LEFT FOR IT TO HAPPEN TO US! But the warning lesson is always there: "Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."
HOW CAN WE AVOID IT? How can we prevent it from happening to us? BY REMAINING GOD'S "DROP-OUTS"! Don't go back to the System even if you have to work in it or with it; don't become part of it, in spirit or otherwise! STAY REVOLUTIONARY--DON'T COMPROMISE WITH THE ENEMY! Try to live as peaceably with him as you can, but don't join him. Don't pull your punches; don't compromise your convictions or water down your message! Stay dropped out! GIVE GOD ALL THE CREDIT ALL THE TIME AT EVERY TURN FOR EVERY LITTLE THING, and He will never fail to continue to prosper you and empower you and protect you and keep you and multiply you and do all things just like He did for the Early Church!
