Let subscribers enjoy converging communication services while watching the TV or communicating on the web with their PC. The Connected Home solution enables them to expand the usability of the conventional desktop phone using the TV or PC set as a primary communication device for voice, video and messaging. Using the existing hometelephony subscription, end-users get a rich portfolio of new services.

What does it take to let the subscribers experience Connected Home?

Connected Home introduces:

• Broadband network access (fiber- or DSL-based)

• Web browsing on a TV set or a notebook • Voice calls with simple point-and-click on the TV remote controller • Video calling via TV or PC • Presence status overview and text messaging with family members and friends on the TV or PC • Remote house-surveillance with web cams

• Public telephone number (family number) • Net-top box with web-TV subscription • Smartphone mobile terminals containing SIP & presence clients for each family member • Web cameras connected to a net-top box • Notebook or desktop PC

The High-Value Networking Solution The existing copper-based subscriber lines have been widely upgraded with broadband connectivity during the past decade. Although they were previously only used for voice-service delivery, now they present a fully capable next-generation, service-delivery channel.

To give subscribers the option to use services that are enabled by the deployment of the Connected Home solution from Iskratel represents a major advantage for the operator.

The Connected Home solution provides a powerful means to increase customer loyalty (prevent subscriber churn) and increase their ARPU. It thus adds new value to traditional ILECs and alternative network operators.

The deployment of VoIP telephony within the Connected Home solution along with SIP-capable devices (deskphones, analogue terminal adapters with analogue phones, soft clients and smartphones) offers another important value. Nomadity has proved to be a strong response to fixed-to-mobile substitution.

A Connected Home subscriber uses far more than just the copper-pair connection inside the home. Any user is enabled to leverage his or her account, services and address book at other locations as well. These locations include the workplace, travel destinations or holiday resorts.

The deployment of the Connected Home solution results in: • Increased subscriber loyalty • Improved profitability of the existing network infrastructure • Increased ARPU from new services The solution serves as an important evolutionary step towards the deployment of a Rich Communication Suite (RCS) and multimedia telephony services that represent an integral part of the IMS-based service offer.
