PRECEDENT STUDY
ITERATIVE PROCESS
The iterative process took shape with the foundation of analysis done on the SO IL Kukje plan. Found relationship of rectilinear and curvilinear in the original plan was taken to create a volumetric squircle that seeks to create ambigiuity within the interior and exterior of the project. Four core volumes of this ambigious shape was used to create 1 story 3x3 iterations and 2 storys 3x3 iterations.
MODULAR
In these drawings the modularity of the project is revealed along with the ambigious facade, which is formed from the action of stacking and sticking the blocks.
FENESTRATION
The axonomet ric drawings represents the flushed out project with the fenestration carved out of the project.
THRESHOLD
The formal language of peeling off and revelaing/ guiding the occupant’s view of perception is introduced at the very start of the entrance of the building. Such a threshold maintain a sense of invitation yet also creates a sense of mystery, a blend of both ideas.
OBLIQUE PROJECTION
An orthographic drawing of the project to show case the two-dimensional qualities of the buidling, espeically the facades as well as the roofing of the building.
FACADE
Ambiguity is created from the varying iteration blocks , creating dif ferent, exciting facades any angle you look at the building from .
B PLAN (FLOOR 1) /
A B
SECTION BB
Facade is peeled outward to create a threshold, a point of entrance that invites the human inside the building. This idea of brining inward the occupant is reverberated throughout the project. The circular staircase for example is intnended to create a circulation that invites the human to look within the building. The staricase guides the occupant without revealing too much of the gallery space, which is good in a gallery setting, as you want to slwoly reveal the artowrks and the room that is housing the artworks. The clash of curved walls and rectilinear walls create moments of ambiguity and reestablish the notion of bringing in and guidance.

PLAN (FLOOR 2)
SECTION AA
Sections of the building reveal the vertical and horiztonal circulation, underlining a sense of movement throughout the project. The second floor of the building introduce moments of pulling in and guidance more with the walls peeling outward to provide threshold to adjacent rooms, walls blending in with the facade to create expreinces that allow people to look outward without havng to literally do it but guided. Lastly, the walls also peel inward revelaing the atrium space in the middle of the plan
Facade has vertical lines scored indicating the curvilinear nature of some parts of the structure but also add an asethetic nature to the facade of the building. The vertical lines convey a sense of stablity and calmness before the revelation of exciting moments in the building.

UNROLLED CUBE
Unrolled cube revelas the circulation that exists within the cube. It also provides information on moments in the cube that otherwise would be difficult to show in other form of orthographic representations.
UNROLLED DIAGRAM
Unrolled diagramtic plan drawing of the cube will fold into the facades of the cube. The urolled diagram informs the entrances of definitive spatial voids, creating ambigious moments throughout the cube
AXONOMETRIC DRAWING
The spatial voids are very prevelant and read really well from the dashed lines. The drawing disclose further details on spatiality of the interior of the cube.

Two varying sizes of squares were overlayed on top of a centeral circle then parts of the square were subtracted, creating a void within the circle. Lastly, a square was added to bring balance between void/ non-voids.
Centeral circle established . Just within on side of the cricle two actions were completed. First action of overlyaing a square on top of the circle then subract ing the square with respect to the outline of the circle. Second action of subracting a square was done.
Similarly, I started off with a center circle, following the notion of centrality in my piece. Then two square of varying sizes were added around the circle, while finally a square was subracted within the circle to establish balacne and bring a void in the sapce.
Same formal language of subracting and adding were utlized in this primitive figure. To establish this figure, actions of subracting and adding squares on both quarters of the central cirle were accomplished to bring balance and spatial equity.
DIGITIZED FORM
Forms are digitaly drawn using Rhino 2D, mainiting the formal language established in primitive figure, which was to use void spaces that are subtracted from already established forms such as the square or the circle. The digitized infroms the figure ground qualities that these form exist in.
INTERPRETED FORM
Abstracting and literally extruding the primitive figure as a plan extrusion resulted in models that reverberate the styles of post modernist architecture. Additioanlly, similar moves of subraction and addition are utilized, but this time it is to create structure support and spatial voids that inform the systems that exist within the models.
