Graduate at the Higher National School of Paris Valde-Seine. Having pursued for three years the ALTO teaching area taught by Atelier Uno architects, I want to learn about urban planning and ecological construction. I’m currently seeking for internships abroad in order to get a concrete approach of my future career.

A UNIFYING COMMON SPACE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

The design process was totally unusual for this project. We started by creating an abstract empty volume. This shape grew, allowing the building to express itself on the inside and making shared space visible from any position. The empty volume is designed to enable natural light input and a foreseeable architectural path. The main idea was to use opaque elements, like an auditorium and serving bands, to catch and guide natural light along the day. As a next generation school, it was a concern to allow any visitor to come and wander around the school, from the street to the roof. The aim was to popularise architecture and make it interesting to any passer-by, and drive them to break trough the threshold. Besides, the project is set up in a Parisian rail depot, which was necessary to preserve as much as possible. We had to merge two different styles and structures into one, enriching the Parisian urban fabric.

CONTEMPORARY FORUM CULTURAL FOUNDATION

02

Located on the Parisian university campus, this cultural foundation gathers showrooms, auditoriums, offices, artists studios along with a library and a cafeteria. The context lies at the crossroads of the two main area lines : an historical planted path and a major highway linking Paris to it suburbs. Wishing to assert those structuring axes, I chose to divide the project in two parts to maintain the promenade and integrate public space into the art complex. Consequently, these two separated volumes became different. The first one’s height made it a landmark in the campus and the other one, lower and concealed amongst the trees, stood on a human scale. They are brought together by massive concrete beams suspending the auditorium on one side, and filtering the exhibition light on the other. This allows the foundation to internalise natural landscape and turn it into a form of exhibition. Artist’s studios are beaming upright on the campus, looking at the top of the trees and being cut off the hustle of the street.

PLAN DU R+4 Échelle 1/100

This housing project is located on a hypothetical corner plot in Paris. It includes ten housing units, from four-bedroom apartments to efficiencies. The main sides are facing north whereas the recess is facing a park in the

south, thus limiting the light input. I therefore decided to create a gap - in blue above - to bring in natural light thoroughly as well as great common spaces. This opening is extended outside by a walkway along the trees. Units are designed from the same type but yet are all unique taking account of the function, need for privacy, and lighting. The unit template consists of setting the rooms up around a central wet room core, freeing up the space and easily dividing the living area from the bedrooms. The corner design

+ 5,22 m séjour atelier

was a key step in order to succeed in linking the crossroads. There, I chose to make it thick and dynamic, relating and gathering the base and the roof terrace. The folded stripe also gives privacy to the exhibited corner, while the off the hook volume enables a discreet Parisian streets outlook.
