Project Objective
Proposal
Process
The objective of this project is to deliver a renewed and revitalized scheme in a selected city block in an Athens neighborhood. The selected block is located in the area of Victoria, Athens. This block was examined and yielded different scenarios that could be developed on.
We propose a project within these selected blocks that focuses on three main architectural interventions. These three interventions are:
Step 1: Creating a community corporation
The problems that arose during the research process include:
lack of public spaces, lack of community services and lack of cohesive human interaction. These issues will be investigated in this project, and outcomes that might improve the living conditions and urban situation in the area will be explored.
creating a public network, providing community services and integrating local interaction within the neighborhood. The proposed green spaces aim to provide residents of the neighborhood a chance to interact with each other in a public domain. The community services planned to be implemented will provide all residents in the area with an opportunity to access things such as health clinic, language school, cinema, cafes and start-up businesses. The integration of local interaction aims to emphasize the diversity of cultures existing in the area, and fostering a greater community spirit.
A group of local people from the neigbourhhod, wishig to create the new communal environment for themselves and for others. They join forces to collect money from investors and start the process of renovating the block.
Step 2: Collecting investors money
Different companies sharing an interest in developing the project will make donations and show support of funding. Main agenicies of Greek Archeological Department and Ministry of Culture, in assosiation with non-profit organizations.
Step 3: Renovating apartments and buildings
The investments will allow excavating the ground in preferable areas, along with renovating apartments and buildings to attract tourists for accomodation and companies for offices rentals.

Athens, with love
A concrete jungle, where many call home. Where brick and mortar, once turned to stone. A stagnant city, wanting to break free, with local residents’ hearts as warm as can be. Athens, the mighty land that once was, now just an attraction without a cause. But not all is dull, as the people still hold hope. Of reviving the city, with an architectural master stroke.
