We’re a team of automotive enthusiasts with a lifelong passion for cars. Automobiles have always been a major part of our lives. Growing up, we couldn’t wait for the monthly issues of Road & Track, Car and Driver and Motor Trend to arrive to show us all the cool new (and mostly unobtainable) cars that were coming out. We’ve spent our lives in the automobile industry, working in multiple positions in auto dealerships and, for the last twenty-five years, we’ve been in automotive media. We produce the Auto Show that has been airing locally on ABC for nearly ten years. We’ve covered dozens of major auto shows including Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, and have talked with dozens of industry icons from Dave Merek to Carlos Ghosn. We’ve spent time on international racetracks and have driven just about everything from sports cars to SUVs, including the very first Ferrari Enzo delivered in the US.
The New Automobiles Magazine
Since 2004, we’ve been producing the auto section for multiple area newspapers. In 2020, we launched the standalone Automobiles Magazine for Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Our magazine includes auto reviews, interviews with local industry leaders, road tests, and vehicle comparisons. Originally focused on new car and highline pre-owned specials from top franchised dealers, it has been delivered digitally to area consumers each month. With this issue, we’re pleased to introduce a printed version of Automobiles Magazine, designed to keep you informed and engaged with the latest developments in the automotive world.
Printed Version
In an era dominated by digital media, printed magazines continue to offer a unique and enduring value. Despite the convenience and cost-effectiveness of digital formats, many readers still appreciate the tactile experience of turning pages, enjoying highquality images, and engaging with curated content that provides a break from digital overload. Printed magazines often become collectible items, valued for their design and longevity. They offer a sense of permanence and credibility that digital media sometimes lacks, fostering a lasting connection with their audience. Our printed edition will continue to provide comprehensive reviews, the latest news, and engaging advertisements. Printed on high-quality stock, it will be delivered to subscribers, advertisers, bookstores, and magazine outlets approximately a week before the issue month on the cover.
We will also continue offering the digital version of Automobiles Magazine, available in the second week of the cover month. This version includes everything in the printed issue, plus monthly new car specials from top franchised dealerships in the region. The timing of this edition aligns with the release of manufacturer incentives, which are typically announced in the first few days of the month. These incentives are crucial for creating competitive and attractive offers. Dealers then need time to customize promotions, finalize designs, and ensure compliance with regulations. As a result, dealer specials are usually ready around the 10th of the month or later, and our digital version ensures you receive the most accurate and up-to-date offers.
The digital edition is sent to over 100,000 consumers and subscribers across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, and is also available on our website, Automobiles.media. This timely delivery allows us to present the latest dealer specials while they are still relevant and actionable, alongside the reviews, stories, and advertisements featured in the printed version. We believe this dual-format approach provides the best of both worlds—detailed, beautifully printed content and the latest digital updates to help you make informed automotive purchase and service decisions.
Thank you for being a valued reader of Automobiles Magazine. We look forward to continuing to bring you the best in automotive journalism, both in print and online.

The manual also emphasizes the importance of maintaining momentum to avoid getting stuck, warning that stopping in deep sand or snow could result in the vehicle sinking.
In this instance, the Cybertruck’s owner had to rely on the power of a Ram TRX, a vehicle known for its off-road prowess, to tow the electric truck out of the dune. This incident not only underscores the importance of understanding a vehicle’s limitations in challenging environments but also serves as a reminder that even the most technologically advanced vehicles can struggle in certain offroad conditions.
Land Rover Introduces the 2024 Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two.
In a recent incident that has drawn considerable attention online, a Tesla Cybertruck had to be rescued by a Ram TRX after it became stuck in a sand dune in Oregon. The situation unfolded on May 18 when Randy Ridenour, a Washington resident, encountered the unusual scene while navigating the tricky terrain. As he came over a dune, he noticed a group of people gathered around a vehicle, and soon realized it was a Tesla Cybertruck, a vehicle not commonly seen in such environments.
The Cybertruck, touted by Tesla as a robust offroad vehicle capable of tackling various terrains, found itself in a less-than-ideal situation. Despite its impressive specifications and Tesla’s promises that it can take drivers “into the backcountry and beyond,” the Cybertruck’s off-road capabilities were put to the test—and in this case, it failed. The truck got stuck in the

The automotive industry has seen remarkable advancements over the past two decades. Despite the significant improvements in technology, safety, comfort, and performance, the increase in car prices has been relatively modest compared to other essential goods and services.
When we compare the cost trajectory of cars with items such as a gallon of milk, college education, and real estate, it becomes evident that automobiles have not only become more affordable but have also offered significantly greater value.
In 2004, the average cost of a new car was approximately $28,000. By 2024, this figure had risen to around $48,000. This represents an increase of about 71%, which, while notable, is relatively modest when viewed in the context of the advancements and added features that modern cars provide. Today’s vehicles come equipped with advanced safety systems, improved fuel efficiency, hybrid and electric options, and an array of comfort and convenience features that were unimaginable two decades ago.
That’s a Better Deal Than You Think.
Comparative Analysis: Automobiles vs. Other Essential Goods
Real estate prices have skyrocketed over the same period. The median home price in the United States was about $188,000 in 2004. Fast forward to 2024, and the median home price has surged to approximately $418,600, an increase of about 123%. Unlike cars, which have seen significant technological and safety improvements, the fundamental nature of a home has not changed much, making the price hike more glaring.
The cost of higher education has seen an even steeper rise. In 2004, the average annual tuition for a private college was around $20,000. By 2024, this figure had more than doubled to about $46,000. Public college tuition has also seen a dramatic increase from approximately $5,000 to over $10,000 per year. Despite these rising costs, the basic structure of college education remains largely unchanged, making the increase hard to justify compared to the enhancements seen in the automotive industry.
Even everyday essentials like a gallon of milk have seen price increases. In 2004, a gallon of milk cost about $2.00. Today, it averages around $4.50, representing a 125% increase. This rise in cost comes without any significant improvement in the product itself, unlike the advancements seen in automobiles.
Healthcare costs have also escalated significantly. In 2004, the average annual health insurance premium for a family was about

$9,950. By 2024, this figure had soared to over $22,000, an increase of approximately 121%. Despite the rising costs, access to healthcare and quality of service have not necessarily improved at the same pace, unlike the innovations and enhancements seen in the automotive industry.
The cost of dining out at restaurants, excluding fast food, has also seen a substantial rise. In 2004, the average cost of a meal at a restaurant was around $20.00. By 2024, this cost has increased to about $50.00, representing a 150% increase. While the dining experience may have improved slightly, it hasn’t seen the transformative advancements that have characterized the automotive industry.
The cost of hotel accommodations has followed a similar upward trajectory. In 2004, the average nightly rate for a hotel room was about $85. By 2024, this rate had increased to approximately $150, an increase of 76%. Despite the higher costs, the basic experience of staying in a hotel room has not seen the same level of innovation as the automotive industry.
The automotive industry has made leaps and bounds in innovation. Modern vehicles are safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable to drive. Here are some key advancements:
• Safety: Modern cars come equipped with advanced safety
features such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control. The integration of these technologies has significantly reduced the risk of accidents and improved overall road safety.
• Fuel Efficiency and Environmental Impact: The push towards hybrid and electric vehicles has transformed the automotive landscape. Cars today are more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly, addressing global concerns about climate change and resource depletion.
• Comfort and Convenience: Today’s vehicles offer unprecedented levels of comfort and convenience. Features like heated and cooled seats, advanced infotainment systems, and autonomous driving capabilities have made driving more pleasurable and less stressful.
• Performance: Despite the push for efficiency, modern cars have not sacrificed performance. The average car today is faster, handles better, and is more reliable than those from two decades ago.
When considering the relative price increase of automobiles against other essential goods and services, it becomes clear that cars have not only maintained a reasonable pricing structure but have also delivered substantial improvements in value. The modest increase in the cost of cars, in light of the significant advancements in technology, safety, and performance, highlights the exceptional value that modern automobiles provide. Unlike real estate, education, healthcare, dining out, or even a gallon of milk, the car industry has continuously evolved, offering consumers more for their money than ever before. As we look to the future, the trend of delivering more value at a competitive price is likely to continue, ensuring that automobiles remain a cornerstone of technological and consumer progress.

Mercedes has introduced the new AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+, a track-focused variant that promises to elevate the already impressive AMG GT lineup to new heights.
Mercedes has clearly listened to its customers, addressing the desire for improved daily usability while simultaneously cranking up the performance dial. The result is a grand tourer that’s equally at home on public roads and race circuits.
At the heart of this beast lies a handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, now tuned to produce a whopping 603 horsepower - a 26 hp increase over the standard GT 63. Torque sees a similar bump, now peaking at 627 lb-ft. These enhancements translate to blistering performance, with the 0-60 mph sprint estimated at just 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 197 mph. Perhaps more impressively, the 0-124 mph dash is dispatched in 10.9 seconds, half a second quicker than its less potent sibling.
Visually, the GT 63 PRO makes its intentions clear with an aggressive aerodynamic package. The front fascia features enlarged side air intakes flanked by additional carbon fiber deflectors. A fixed rear wing and underbody air deflectors - similar to those found on the hypercar ONE - work in concert to increase downforce and stability at high speeds. Cooling has been a major focus for AMG’s engineers. Two additional radiators in the wheel arches, along with actively cooled differentials and transfer case, ensure optimal thermal management even under the most demanding track conditions. This attention to detail extends to the braking system, with revised underbody air vanes and brake cover plates optimizing airflow to prevent overheating.
Speaking of brakes, the GT 63 PRO comes standard with AMG’s largest carbon-ceramic discs to date, measuring an impressive 16.5 inches up front. These massive rotors are paired with six-piston calipers, promising fade-free stopping power lap after lap.
The chassis benefits from AMG’s latest tech, including the ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active roll stabilization and rear-axle steering. Combined with the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive system, these features should provide both agility and stability across a wide range of driving scenarios.
Rolling stock consists of lightweight 21-inch forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires, with the option to upgrade to even stickier Pilot Sport Cup 2 R rubber at no additional cost - a nod to the car’s track-day aspirations.
seats offer increased lateral support for spirited driving, while the AMG Performance steering wheel is trimmed in a combination of Nappa leather and microfiber. Unlike its predecessor, this new generation AMG GT can be optioned with a 2+2 seating configuration, enhancing its grand touring credentials.
While full pricing details haven’t been released, expect the GT 63 PRO to command a premium over the standard GT 63 when it arrives in U.S. dealerships in 2025. For those seeking the ultimate expression of AMG’s grand touring philosophy with a heavy dose of track capability, the wait may well be worth it. This new variant cements the AMG GT’s position as a true dual-threat in the highperformance luxury market. It offers the daily usability and comfort expected of a Mercedes, combined with the trackfocused engineering and blistering performance that AMG is renowned for. The GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ looks set to be a formidable contender in the increasingly competitive super GT segment.

In the world of hypercars, few names command the awe and respect that Pagani does. Founded by the visionary Horacio Pagani, this Italian manufacturer has carved a niche for itself with its uncompromising dedication to performance, artistry, and engineering excellence. From its inception, Pagani has stood as a testament to the idea that automobiles can be more than just machines—they can be works of art.
The Genesis of Pagani Automobili
The story of Pagani Automobili begins in Argentina, where Horacio Pagani was born in 1955. From a young age, Pagani was fascinated by both art and engineering. His early projects, which included building a racing car from scratch at the age of 20, showcased his remarkable talent and ambition. Eager to learn from the best, Pagani moved to Italy in 1974, inspired by the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio, who recommended him to pursue his automotive dreams in the homeland of supercars.
Pagani started working at Lamborghini in the early 1980s, where he quickly made a name for himself. He was involved in several key projects, including the development of the Countach Evoluzione, which was the first car to extensively use carbon fiber. However, despite his success at Lamborghini, Pagani had a grander vision—he wanted to create his own car. After years of persistence and securing
funds, Pagani Automobili Modena was officially founded in 1992.
The Zonda: A Masterpiece Takes Flight Pagani’s first creation, the Zonda, was introduced to the world in 1999. Named after an Argentine wind, the Zonda was a bold statement of Pagani’s design philosophy. It featured a Mercedes-Benz V12 engine, a carbon-fiber body, and an interior that blended high-tech materials with old-world craftsmanship. The Zonda was not just about raw performance; it was about creating an emotional connection between the car and its driver.
Over the years, numerous variants of the Zonda were produced, each more extreme and refined than the last. Models like the Zonda F, Zonda Cinque, and Zonda Revolución pushed the boundaries of what a hypercar could be. The Zonda’s production officially ended in 2019, but bespoke one-off models continued to be made for dedicated clients, reflecting the car’s enduring appeal.
The Huayra: Evolution of the Hypercar In 2011, Pagani introduced the Huayra, named after the Quechua god of wind. The Huayra was a significant evolution over the Zonda, featuring active aerodynamics and a new AMG-sourced 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine producing over 700 horsepower. The Huayra combined cutting-edge technology with Pagani’s trademark attention to detail. Its active aerodynamic system, which included flaps that adjusted in real-time to optimize downforce and drag, showcased Pagani’s commitment to blending art with science.
The Huayra’s interior was equally impressive, with exposed carbon fiber, hand-stitched leather, and a unique, watchlike instrument cluster. The car was a blend of modernity and tradition, designed to evoke a sense of wonder and excitement.
Pagani continued to develop the Huayra platform, introducing variants such as the Huayra BC (named after Pagani’s close friend Benny Caiola) and the trackfocused Huayra Imola. Each variant brought improvements in performance, aerodynamics, and driver engagement, ensuring the Huayra remained at the pinnacle of hypercar performance.
“ The Zonda was not just about raw performance; it was about creating an emotional connection between the car and its driver.”
Pagani’s approach to car manufacturing is rooted in a deep appreciation for both art and science. Horacio Pagani often refers to his cars as “Automobili, non semplici automobili,” meaning “Cars, not just simple cars.” This philosophy is evident in every aspect of a Pagani vehicle, from the hand-crafted interiors to the meticulously engineered carbon-fiber monocoques.
The company’s dedication to lightweight construction and aerodynamics stems from Horacio Pagani’s early fascination with Leonardo da Vinci, who believed that art and science could work together in harmony. This is reflected in the attention to detail in every Pagani vehicle, where form and function are seamlessly integrated.
Pagani’s clientele is as unique as its cars. Typical Pagani customers are connoisseurs of excellence, individuals who appreciate the fusion of art and engineering. These customers are often collectors who view their Pagani not just as a vehicle, but as an investment and a piece of automotive history. Many of them have bespoke demands, requiring custom-built versions of Pagani models, which the company is more than willing to accommodate.
These customers are drawn to Pagani’s exclusivity and the brand’s commitment to creating limited-production models. Owning a Pagani is a statement of individuality and an appreciation for the extraordinary. It is this close relationship with its customers that allows Pagani to push the boundaries of design and performance continually.
In the rarefied world of hypercars, Pagani’s main competitors include marques like Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and McLaren. Each of these manufacturers has its unique approach to the hypercar concept. Bugatti, with its Veyron and Chiron, focuses on ultimate speed and luxury. Koenigsegg, known for its Agera and Jesko models, emphasizes innovation and breaking speed records. McLaren, with models like the P1 and Speedtail, blends track performance with cutting-edge technology.
Despite these formidable competitors, Pagani has carved out a distinctive niche
by focusing on the artistic and emotional aspects of car ownership. While others may excel in specific areas, Pagani’s holistic approach—combining performance, design, and craftsmanship—sets it apart.
As Pagani looks to the future, it remains committed to its founding principles. The company is rumored to be working on the successor to the Huayra, a model that will undoubtedly push the boundaries of what is possible in a hypercar. Pagani is also exploring new technologies, including hybrid and electric powertrains, to ensure it stays at the forefront of automotive innovation.
However, regardless of the technologies it adopts, Pagani will continue to focus on creating vehicles that are more than just machines. Each new model will be a testament to Horacio Pagani’s vision of blending art and science, ensuring that the Pagani brand remains a symbol of excellence and exclusivity.
Pagani Automobili is more than just a car manufacturer; it is a creator of dreams. From its humble beginnings to its current status as a maker of some of the world’s most coveted hypercars, Pagani has remained true to its vision. The Zonda and the Huayra are not just cars; they are expressions of art, passion, and the relentless pursuit of perfection. As the company moves forward, it will undoubtedly continue to set new standards in the world of highperformance automobiles, capturing the imaginations of enthusiasts and collectors alike.
In a world where technology often overshadows craftsmanship, Pagani stands as a beacon of what is possible when art and science come together in perfect harmony. The legacy of Horacio Pagani and his extraordinary creations will undoubtedly endure, inspiring future generations to dream bigger and reach higher.
A recent study by Consumer Affairs has identified Rhode Island as the most expensive state in the United States for accident-related repairs. This finding highlights significant cost disparities across different states and raises questions about the factors influencing auto-related expenses.
According to the research provided by The Dolman Law Group, which analyzed data on licensed drivers, fatal accidents, and estimated economic costs for each state, Rhode Island drivers face an average repair cost of $1,987 per capita following a car accident. This figure is substantially higher than other states, with Hawaii ranking as the least expensive at $410 per capita.
The study also revealed interesting regional variations. While Rhode Island tops the list, its neighbor Connecticut ranks third with an average repair cost of $1,712 per capita. Massachusetts, however, sits at 22nd place, with costs averaging $1,072 per capita.
Several factors contribute to Rhode Island’s high costs. One key reason is the state’s relatively low percentage of licensed drivers, with only 68.8% of the population holding a driver’s

license. This means that repair costs are spread across a smaller pool of drivers, increasing the per capita expenses.
Recent legislation in Rhode Island may also impact costs. A new bill extends the age of vehicles for which insurers can refuse to pay for non-OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts during repairs to 72 months, potentially leading to higher repair costs.
Despite the high costs, it’s worth noting that Rhode Island has the lowest fatality rate of any state in the study, indicating a relatively safe driving environment.
This research provides valuable insights into the varying financial impacts of car ownership and accidents across the United States. As policymakers and insurance companies consider these disparities, Rhode Island residents may need to be particularly mindful of auto-related expenses in their budgeting.

The infotainment system includes a large touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, making it easy to stay connected on the go. Safety features are also plentiful, with standard offerings like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist.
Given its impressive specifications and features, the Dodge Hornet deserves more attention from SUV buyers. Here are a few reasons why more people should consider the Hornet:
1. Performance and Handling: The Dodge Hornet offers sporty handling and strong performance, thanks to its turbocharged engines and well-tuned suspension. It provides a fun and engaging driving experience that is rare in the compact SUV segment.
2. Advanced Technology: The Hornet is equipped with the latest technology, including a state-of-the-art infotainment system and a comprehensive suite of safety features. These enhancements make the driving experience more enjoyable and safer.
3. Stylish Design: With its bold exterior and stylish interior, the Dodge Hornet stands out from the crowd. It combines American muscle car aesthetics with Italian design finesse, making it a unique choice in the market.
4. Value for Money: Despite its premium features and performance, the Dodge Hornet is competitively priced. It offers excellent value for money, especially when compared to other compact SUVs in the same price range.
5. Environmental Considerations: The plug-in hybrid variant of the Dodge Hornet offers a greener alternative without compromising on performance. It provides better fuel economy and lower emissions, appealing to environmentally conscious buyers.
Some have conjected that because Dodge has branded itself as the high-performance division of Stellantis, and is well known for Hellcats, Demons and Trackhawks, many people don’t think of the brand as the place to look for a great compact SUV. Also, for those who remember the original Hornet, it conjures up memories of a smallish 2 door coupe from AMC in the early seventies. Which is a very different vehicle than its current iteration.
The current Dodge Hornet is a well-rounded compact SUV that excels in performance, technology, and design. No matter the reason, its current low sales figures do not reflect its true potential and capabilities. For those in the market for a compact SUV, the Dodge Hornet is worth a closer look. It combines the best of American and Italian automotive engineering, offering a driving experience that is both exhilarating and practical. With more awareness and recognition, the Dodge Hornet has the potential to become a strong contender in the compact SUV market.

Priority Auto Group Drives into the Future with Strategic Expansion in Rhode Island
The Priority Automotive Group, with dealerships in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, has hit another milestone in its journey of growth and service excellence. The group has recently announced the acquisition of two new dealerships, Ocean Newport Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Middletown and Ocean Westerly Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Westerly.
Founded over a decade ago with the purchase of Cerrone Chevrolet-Buick-GMC in Attleboro, Priority Auto Group has steered its course with a clear vision and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Since its inception, the group has strategically expanded its footprint, adding Hyundai of Newport in Middletown, Rhode Island, Kia of Attleboro in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Kia of Groton in Groton, Connecticut, to its growing family of dealerships.
Owner and Dealer Principal William Gibb, who oversees the operations of all the stores within the group, expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion: “Our journey began with a promise — a promise to deliver unparalleled service and value to our customers. Each new partnership is more than a transaction; it’s an opportunity to extend that promise to more communities. With our newest members, the Ocean Newport and Ocean Westerly dealerships, we’re excited to continue fulfilling that promise while driving innovation in the auto industry.”
Before taking the helm at Priority Auto Group, Gibb cultivated his expertise in the luxury automotive sector as a General Manager for the Penske group, where he managed the Porsche/Audi/Bentley dealerships in Warwick. His leadership and customer-centric approach have been instrumental in navigating the group’s successful expansion.
Co-owner Konstantin Onik added “Every new addition to our group is a carefully selected piece of a larger puzzle. Our growth is a reflection of our core values: integrity, dedication, and a passion for automotive excellence. Bringing the Ocean dealerships into our fold is more than expanding our reach; it’s about fortifying our commitment to the New England community. We’re here not just to sell cars, but to build relationships and be a dependable part of people’s lives,”
The expansion comes at a time when the automotive industry is undergoing rapid transformation, with shifts towards electric vehicles and digital sales models. Priority Auto Group has consistently stayed ahead of the curve, leveraging technology to enhance the customer experience while maintaining a robust selection of vehicles to cater to diverse preferences.
“Founded over a decade ago with the purchase of Cerrone ChevroletBuick-GMC in Attleboro, Priority Auto Group has steered its course with a clear vision and a commitment to customer satisfaction.”
The acquisition of the Ocean dealerships brings with it a rich legacy of community trust and service that aligns seamlessly with Priority Auto Group’s ethos.
With these additions to its portfolio, the group is now poised to offer a broader range of highquality and exciting vehicles to its customers.
“Expanding our family to include the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands is a strategic move that aligns with our mission to offer top-notch vehicles to our discerning clientele,” said Gibb, “CDJR brands are renowned for their blend of luxury, performance, and rugged dependability, and we’re thrilled to bring these options to our customers.”
Chrysler’s lineup, with its sleek sedans and family-friendly Pacifica minivan, provides sophisticated design paired with innovative
technology, ensuring a driving experience that’s both luxurious and practical. Dodge continues to cater to those with a thirst for muscle and performance, offering a range of vehicles like the powerful Charger and Challenger that encapsulate the spirit of American muscle.
Jeep’s heritage of adventure is embodied in its range of SUVs that are just as comfortable navigating city streets as they are traversing rugged trails. The brand’s commitment to freedom and outdoor lifestyle makes it a perfect fit for New England’s varied terrain and climate. Ram trucks, known for their durability and strength, provide unparalleled capability for work and play, boasting class-leading features for towing, payload, and efficiency.
“Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram each offer a distinct driving experience, yet they all share a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction,” Gibb noted. “At Priority Auto Group, we’re excited to match every customer with a vehicle that suits their lifestyle, whether they’re seeking luxury, adventure, or pure power.”
With the integration of the Ocean dealerships, Priority Auto Group strengthens its ability to serve a wider customer base, bringing the acclaimed CDJR lineup closer to car buyers across New England.
These additions come with some changes within the Priority organization too. Jon Narcessian, who was previously the General Manager of Hyundai of Newport has been promoted to Vice President, and will oversee both of the new Ocean dealerships as well. And long-time automotive veteran Mike Neville will be joining the Priority team as General Manager of the Ocean Westerly location.
“Imagine the roads of New England, from the vibrant fall landscapes to the winter-blanketed streets — there’s a CDJR vehicle for every season
and reason,” Gibb mused. “We’re not just expanding our inventory; we’re curating a collection that empowers our customers to find the perfect vehicle for their life’s adventures.”
This expansion marks a new chapter for Priority Auto Group, as it continues to build upon a decade of trusted service and dedication to excellence. With the CDJR lineup now under its wing, Priority Auto Group reaffirms its commitment to bringing the best of the automotive world to the doorsteps of New Englanders.
As the group welcomes these new dealerships, customers can expect the same high standards that have become the group’s hallmark. With a keen eye on the future and a firm grip on the values that have driven their success, Priority Auto Group is not just selling cars — they’re driving dreams home.
For more information on Priority Auto Group and their services, visit www.priorityauto.com or stop by any of their dealerships to experience first-hand the customer service that is setting new benchmarks in the automotive world.
When Dodge introduced the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon at the 2017 New York Auto Show, it was immediately clear that this was no ordinary muscle car. With an astounding 840 horsepower, the Demon was a heavily modified version of the already formidable 707-horsepower Challenger Hellcat. Dodge designed the Demon with factory-engineered drag-racing upgrades, making it the fastest and most powerful street-legal car ever produced by an American manufacturer.
During testing at Gainesville Raceway in Florida, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) certified that the Demon could run a quartermile in 9.650 seconds at 140 mph. These performance numbers were unprecedented for a production car, drawing significant attention from car enthusiasts and the NHRA Technical Services Department alike.
The NHRA’s Stance
In November 2016, NHRA Vice President of Technical Operations, Glen Gray, sent a letter to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), stating that the Demon’s performance exceeded NHRA’s limits of 9.99 seconds and 135 mph. According to NHRA rules, any vehicle running quicker than 9.99 seconds or faster than 135 mph must comply with specific safety regulations found in Section 4 of the NHRA Rulebook.
“We currently have guidelines in place that allow new (2008 and newer) performance models to run as quick as 10.00 seconds provided they are stock vehicles as delivered from the factory,” Gray explained. “However, once a competitor runs 9.99 seconds or quicker, there are a number of changes that would need to be made to a stock vehicle in order for it to be accepted for competition.”
To be compliant, a vehicle running in the nine-second range would need to have NHRA-accepted safety equipment, including but not limited to:
• A certified roll cage
• Window net
• Aftermarket driver restraint system
• Driveshaft loop
• Master cut-off switch
“Dodge designed the Demon with factoryengineered dragracing upgrades, making it the fastest and most powerful street-legal car ever produced by an American manufacturer.”

Additionally, drivers would need to hold an NHRA Competition License and wear accepted safety gear, such as a helmet, SFI-certified jacket, pants, gloves, and a neck collar or HANS device.
Despite the Demon’s lack of some of these safety features from the factory, the NHRA expects that many owners will install the necessary equipment to meet compliance. Gray emphasized that the NHRA encourages participation from new racers and appreciates the innovation from manufacturers like Dodge. However, he stressed the importance of adhering to safety guidelines once a vehicle reaches this high-performance level.
Dodge cleverly incorporated the NHRA’s ban into their marketing campaign, coining the tagline “Officially Banned by the NHRA.” This move not only highlighted the car’s extraordinary performance but also played into the allure of owning a vehicle that pushes boundaries. Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat, famously remarked, “We want to impress the NHRA more than the PTA,” underscoring the brand’s commitment to performance enthusiasts.
While many might assume that the NHRA’s ban was due to the Demon being “too fast,” the reality is that it was too fast to run without adequate safety equipment. The NHRA’s regulations are in place to ensure the safety of drivers and spectators, recognizing that a car capable of such high speeds is effectively a serious race car. By enforcing these rules, the NHRA maintains a safe environment for all participants in drag racing events.
The Dodge Demon represents a significant milestone in automotive performance, blurring the lines between street-legal and race-ready vehicles. Its ban by the NHRA underscores the importance of safety in high-speed racing, ensuring that drivers who push the limits also adhere to strict safety standards. As manufacturers continue to innovate and produce increasingly powerful cars, the balance between performance and safety remains crucial. The Demon may be “banned” on the track without modifications, but its legacy as a groundbreaking muscle car is undeniable.
“Alvine’s commitment to the Discover New Haven project exemplifies his belief in community building. ‘Supporting local businesses is the backbone of community growth.’”
New Haven County, with its twenty-seven cities and towns, is now home to a distinctive initiative called “Discover New Haven.” This project, aimed at spotlighting small, locally-owned businesses, represents a harmonious blend of community and commerce, celebrating and supporting local endeavors.
In an age where digital visibility is paramount, “Discover New Haven” offers businesses a unique and innovative platform. The project showcases video interviews with local business owners, utilizing a meticulous process that begins with identifying businesses that align well with the initiative. Once selected, interviews are scheduled and professionally recorded at the business locations. Supplementary B-roll footage is also captured, all of which is expertly edited before being shared across social media, the Discover New Haven website, the Premier Auto Group’s websites, and even in the waiting rooms of Premier dealerships.
Remarkably, this service is provided entirely free of charge to the small businesses featured. This is made possible through the sponsorship of Bob Alvine, president of the Premier Auto Group. With three auto dealerships
under its banner—Premier Kia of Branford, Premier Subaru of Branford, and Premier Subaru of Middlebury—the Premier Auto Group is a well-established and respected entity in New Haven County.
Alvine’s commitment to the Discover New Haven project exemplifies his belief in community building. “Supporting local businesses is the backbone of community growth. These enterprises, driven by hard-working individuals, bring character, vitality, and authenticity to our county. Through ‘Discover New Haven,’ I am not only investing in local commerce but also reaffirming my commitment to fostering a thriving community. It’s about lifting each other up and celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit that defines New Haven,” Alvine remarked.
Since its inception, “Discover New Haven” has interviewed nearly a hundred local businesses, providing them with a voice and a platform to reach wider audiences. Each featured business benefits from professional-quality video content that would otherwise pose a significant financial burden, particularly for smaller enterprises. Plans for a Discover New Haven magazine and TV show are underway, promising even greater exposure for these local stories.
Alvine’s sponsorship is more than a business decision; it reflects a personal commitment to the community he serves. His belief in the power of local media to unite communities aligns seamlessly with the mission of Discover New Haven. This initiative not only highlights New Haven’s cultural and social aspects but also promotes local businesses, fostering economic growth and community engagement.
Alvine’s involvement ensures that “Discover New Haven” can continue to expand its reach and impact. Future episodes will delve deeper into the stories that matter most to New Haven residents, from profiles of local artists and entrepreneurs to indepth looks at community initiatives and city developments.
In an increasingly globalized economy, consumers have more choices than ever before when it comes to where they spend their money. While price and convenience remain critical factors, there is a growing awareness of the broader impact of our purchasing decisions. Supporting businesses that actively contribute to their local communities offers a range of benefits that extend beyond individual transactions, fostering a healthier, more vibrant local economy.
When consumers choose to do business with community-minded companies, they help bolster the local economy. These businesses typically source products and services from local suppliers, hire local employees, and invest in local projects. This not only keeps money circulating within the community but also helps create jobs and increase local incomes. The economic benefits are cyclical: as local businesses thrive, they have more resources to invest back into the community, creating a robust local economy
that benefits everyone. When consumers support these businesses, they are indirectly contributing to these positive community efforts.
a Unique
Projects like Discover New Haven are a great example of what can happen when businesses and communities collaborate. Bob Alvine’s leadership and generosity underscore the spirit of unity and support for his local community. By supporting these businesses, consumers help preserve and promote the unique character and vibrancy of their communities.

After a car accident, the primary concern for most vehicle owners is restoring their car to its original condition. However, beyond the cosmetic repairs, ensuring the vehicle’s safety is paramount. Auto body shops play a crucial role in this process, taking meticulous steps to guarantee that repaired vehicles meet stringent safety standards. This article explores the rigorous measures auto body shops employ to ensure vehicle safety post-repair.
The first step in the safety assurance process is evaluating and restoring the vehicle’s structural integrity. Modern vehicles are designed with crumple zones and other features that absorb impact to protect occupants. An auto body shop must carefully assess these areas to ensure they are correctly repaired.
Laser Frame Diagnostics: Many shops use advanced laser frame diagnostic systems to measure the vehicle’s frame. These systems can detect even the slightest deviations from the manufacturer’s specifications. If the frame is bent or misaligned, technicians use frame straightening machines to correct the issues, ensuring that the vehicle’s structural integrity is restored.
Proper welding techniques are essential for maintaining structural integrity. Certified technicians employ MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding and other methods to ensure that welds are strong and durable. This is particularly important in areas that experience high stress during a collision.
Once the structural repairs are completed, auto body shops perform thorough safety inspections to identify any other potential issues. These inspections cover a wide range of components and systems to ensure that everything functions as it should.
Alignment and Suspension Checks: Technicians check the vehicle’s alignment and suspension systems. Proper alignment ensures that the vehicle drives straight and handles correctly, while a thorough inspection of the suspension system helps identify any damaged components that could affect the vehicle’s stability.
Brake System Evaluation: The brake system is crucial for vehicle safety. Technicians inspect the entire brake system, including pads, rotors, calipers, and brake lines, to ensure that everything is in proper working order. Any damaged or worn components are replaced to guarantee optimal braking performance.
Functionality of Safety Features: Modern vehicles come equipped with numerous safety features such as airbags, sensors, and electronic stability control systems. Auto body shops use specialized diagnostic tools to check these systems. Technicians verify that airbags are correctly installed and functional, sensors are properly calibrated, and electronic systems are fully operational.
After the initial inspections and repairs, most auto body shops will implement a rigorous quality control process to ensure that no detail is overlooked.
Multiple Quality Checks: The vehicle undergoes multiple quality checks by different technicians. This redundancy helps catch any potential issues that might have been missed during the initial inspections. Each technician brings a fresh perspective and attention to detail, ensuring comprehensive scrutiny.
Road Test: A road test is conducted to evaluate the vehicle’s performance in real-world conditions. During this test, technicians pay close attention to the vehicle’s handling, braking, and overall drivability. Any anomalies detected during the road test are addressed before the vehicle is returned to the customer.
Customer Feedback: Customer satisfaction is a critical component of the quality control process. Auto body shops encourage customers to provide feedback on the repairs and their vehicle’s performance. This feedback loop helps shops continuously improve their processes and ensure that safety standards are consistently met.
Beyond the immediate post-repair checks, some auto body shops offer additional services to ensure long-term safety and customer peace of mind.
Maintenance Programs: Shops may offer maintenance programs that include regular inspections and tune-ups. These programs help vehicle owners keep their cars in top condition, addressing any potential issues before they become serious problems.
Warranty on Repairs: Offering a warranty on repairs is another way shops stand behind their work. A warranty provides customers with confidence that the repairs will hold up over time and that the shop is committed to their vehicle’s long-term safety.
Ensuring vehicle safety post-repair is a comprehensive process that involves meticulous attention to detail and adherence to high standards. Auto body shops play a critical role in this process, from restoring structural integrity and conducting thorough safety inspections to implementing rigorous quality control measures and providing long-term maintenance support. For vehicle owners, choosing a reputable and certified auto body shop is essential to ensure that their vehicle is not only restored to its pre-accident condition but also safe to drive. By prioritizing safety first, auto body shops help keep drivers and passengers protected on the road.

Navigating the world of auto insurance can be a daunting task, especially for new drivers and car owners. This comprehensive guide aims to demystify the key aspects of auto insurance, helping you make informed decisions about your coverage.
Auto insurance is not a one-size-fits-all product; it encompasses several types of coverage designed to protect you, your passengers, and your vehicle. Here’s a breakdown of the main types of auto insurance coverage:
1. Liability Insurance
• Bodily Injury Liability: This covers medical expenses, lost wages, and legal fees if you are at fault in an accident that injures another person.
• Property Damage Liability: This pays for damages you cause to another person’s property, such as their vehicle or a fence.
• This coverage pays for repairs or replacement of your vehicle if it is damaged in a collision with another vehicle or object, regardless of who is at fault.
3. Comprehensive Insurance
• This covers damage to your vehicle caused by non-collision events, such as theft, vandalism, fire, natural disasters, and hitting an animal.
• This protects you if you are involved in an accident with a driver who has no insurance or insufficient insurance to cover the damages.
5. Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
• Also known as no-fault insurance, PIP covers medical expenses, lost wages, and other related costs for you and your passengers, regardless of who is at fault in an accident.
Several factors determine your auto insurance premiums, including:
• Age and Gender: Younger drivers, especially males, often face higher premiums due to their higher risk of accidents.
• Driving History: A clean driving record with no accidents or traffic violations can significantly lower your premiums.
• Vehicle Type: The make, model, and year of your vehicle affect your insurance costs. Expensive and highperformance cars usually cost more to insure.
• Location: Urban areas with higher traffic density and crime rates typically have higher insurance premiums than rural areas.
• Credit Score: In many states, insurers
use credit scores to help determine premiums, with higher scores often resulting in lower rates.
• Coverage Levels: The more coverage you choose, the higher your premium will be. Opting for higher deductibles can lower your premiums but means you’ll pay more out-of-pocket in the event of a claim.
Selecting the appropriate auto insurance coverage is crucial for your financial protection. Here are some tips to help you make the right choice:
1. Assess Your Needs: Consider your vehicle’s value, your driving habits, and your financial situation. If you drive an older car, you might opt for minimal coverage, whereas a new car may warrant comprehensive and collision coverage.
2. Compare Quotes: Shop around and compare quotes from multiple insurance providers. Rates can vary significantly, so it pays to do your homework.
3. Look for Discounts: Many insurers offer discounts for safe drivers, good students, multi-policy holders, and members of certain organizations. Ask about available discounts to reduce your premium.
4. Review Policy Terms: Understand the terms and conditions of the policy, including what is covered and what is excluded. Pay attention to coverage limits and deductibles.
5. Consider Financial Stability: Choose an insurer with a strong financial rating. This ensures they can pay out claims promptly and fully.
Auto insurance is a vital aspect of vehicle ownership, providing financial protection in the event of accidents, theft, or other damages. By understanding the different types of coverage, the factors influencing premiums, and how to choose the right policy, you can make informed decisions that safeguard your financial well-being.
Remember, the cheapest policy isn’t always the best. It’s important to balance cost with adequate coverage to ensure you and your vehicle are well-protected.

For many car owners, the prospect of dealership service often comes with the assumption of higher costs. However, the investment in servicing your vehicle at an authorized new car dealership offers numerous benefits that ensure your car’s longevity, performance, and overall value. Here’s why entrusting your vehicle to a dealership is a wise decision.
For many car owners, the prospect of dealership service often comes with the assumption of higher costs. However, the investment in servicing your vehicle at an authorized new car dealership offers numerous benefits that ensure your car’s longevity, performance, and overall value. Here’s why entrusting your vehicle to a dealership is a wise decision:
Authorized dealerships possess specialized tools and software designed specifically for your vehicle model. These tools, which are not usually found at independent garages, enable dealership technicians to diagnose and repair issues with precision
and efficiency. Moreover, dealership mechanics undergo rigorous, manufacturer-specific training programs, ensuring they are proficient in the latest technology and service techniques. This expertise minimizes the risk of errors and ensures your vehicle receives the highest standard of care.
When you service your car at a dealership, you are guaranteed the use of genuine factory parts. These parts are specifically engineered for your vehicle, ensuring a perfect fit and optimal performance. Utilizing authentic parts also maintains your warranty, as many manufacturers require the use of genuine components to keep the warranty valid. This practice not only preserves your warranty but also enhances your car’s resale value, as a history of using genuine parts can be a significant selling point.
Authorized dealerships are directly connected to the vehicle manufacturer, providing immediate access to information about any recalls or service bulletins. When you bring your car to a dealership, the technicians will automatically check for any outstanding recalls and address them at no additional cost. This proactive approach ensures that your vehicle is always upto-date with the latest safety and performance enhancements mandated by the manufacturer.
“Auto insurance is not a one-size-fits-all product; it encompasses several types of coverage designed to protect you, your passengers, and your vehicle.”
Dealerships maintain detailed service histories for every vehicle they service. This meticulous documentation is invaluable for tracking maintenance schedules and understanding the complete service history of your car. When it comes time to sell your vehicle, a documented history of dealership service can provide potential buyers with confidence in the car’s condition and maintenance.
Vehicles that have been consistently serviced at an authorized dealership often command higher resale values. Prospective buyers are reassured by the “dealer serviced” label, knowing that the vehicle has been maintained to the highest standards with genuine parts and the latest technical knowledge. This reputation for quality can significantly enhance the ease and profitability of selling your car.
As car owner priorities shift towards maintaining their vehicle’s peak performance and ensuring longevity, authorized dealerships stand out as the premier choice for service. The commitment to providing exceptional service goes beyond just fixing cars; it’s about ensuring customers have peace of mind knowing their vehicle is in the best possible hands.
We're a trusted provider with more than 13.4 million contracts nationwide.
It's no surprise that most major repairs are needed after the original factory warranty has expired, which means you will have to deal with all the inconvenience, time, energy and expense of those repairs.

The Vehicle Service Contract begins on the purchase date and expires according to the term and mileage selected, whichever occurs first, and may include a deductible depending on the option selected.
