Autobiography A Screaming Red Ferrari F40 and it’s quiet owner
T
his is different than many of our other stories in our AutoBiography series. While it’s still about the car and person who owns it, in this case the owner has an acronym that describes his lack of seeking publicity. SSO: It stands for Secret Supercar Owner, and it’s a tag that he’s used over the years when writing about his experience owning and driving supercars. And while he owns many supercars, some even ascend to what’s considered “Hypercars”. But SHO is a Ford Taurus, so we’ll stick with SSO. My first indication that SSO understood Italian automobiles happened as soon as I pulled into the circular stone driveway at their horse farm in Massachusetts. My wife needed my car for the day, so I was relegated to driving her Stelvio. As I was unloading photo gear from the hatch, for some unknown reason, the alarm started going off. It’s not a quiet alarm. There was a group of workers there doing various jobs on the property. They all stopped and stared. I pressed the unlock button, nothing. The lock button, same result. I got in and started it. It started up easily, but did nothing to mute the ungodly blare of the alarm. SSO came out, smiling and shook my hand to welcome me. He said “Just press and hold the panic button on the remote”. I did, and the alarm stopped immediately. Problem solved.
SSO has garages filled with high-octane hardware, but for this interview, we’re going to focus on one particularly temperamental Italian. The Ferrari F40 that we’re discussing is a European car, imported to the US because of the 25-year rule that allows cars to come to the US without having to be modified to meet US emissions and safety standards after that period. He also had an F50, but because it’s much newer, waiting the 25 years would have meant many years in storage until reaching that milestone, and if there’s one thing supercars were not meant to do, it’s sit in storage without being driven. We go inside and begin our interview: Automobiles RIMA: You’ve had a number of supercars, and you’re very obviously very passionate about them. When did your fascination with cars begin? SSO: You’re right, this isn’t a passing hobby. The interest started as a teenager. My first car was a Volkswagen Rabbit, which had a lovely four speed gearbox, and I think a 1.2 liter engine. I drove the wheels off of it. It ended up dying because the gearbox fell out of the car. But it was a fun little thing to throw around. And from there, we just went up the ladder. My next cars after that were a couple of Alfa Romeos, a 33 1.7 Quadrifoglio that I had when I was living over in Belgium. That was a sweet handling car
8 and had quite a bit of spunk for something its size and weight. It was quick to throw around but unbelievably poorly made. After about six months, things are falling off, and it’s rusting out. I then moved from there to Germany and got one of the original M535is, which was great on the Autobahn. For a kid my age, it was a great thing to have. But I soon discovered driving on the Autobahn that I’m getting absolutely murdered by 911s and 928s that are passing me like I’m standing still. My first real “sports car” was a Porsche 911 993 C4. And that’s where I went from a high level of interest and enjoyment to being what I’d call more of a hardcore enthusiast. We had the Porsche for a couple of years, and we really enjoyed that. Then a friend of mine said, “Well, if you like driving that, you need to drive a Ferrari.” I ended up getting an F355 GTS. It’s funny, looking back today, I can’t believe how naive I was buying that car. I bought it in November. I literally picked the car up the week after Christmas in Belgium and drove it from Belgium to Portugal. It was a bit insane to do that in a car I’d never actually driven before. Fortunately, I never had an issue other than at the first gas station I stopped at in France. When I picked up the car, and we were going through it, the one thing a guy hadn’t told me how to do was turn the immobilizer off. So at the gas station, after I had filled up the car, it took me - well, it seemed like about three hours but was actually probably about five minutes - to figure out how to get the car restarted. And of course, this was a holiday week and there was a long line to get gas, and the French are not highly understanding of somebody in a bright red Ferrari having trouble, so I’m getting honked at the whole time. We got the car started and it ended up being a great trip, but if I look back, that was a bit insane. It wasn’t exactly on winter tires either. But the back end stayed behind me the whole time which was good. I didn’t pick up any tickets, and it definitely got a few thumbs up. That started the whole Ferrari bug. Now we’ve had 16 Ferraris over the years, starting with that 355 in 2002. I think the most I’ve had at any one time was four. Automobiles RIMA: You mentioned that you considered getting the LaFerrari, and it seems like with that number of Ferraris in your history, you should have been able to get on that short list. SSO: There were a couple of things that I fell out with
AUGUST 2021 Ferrari over, things they did that really didn’t sit well. One was the whole LaFerrari episode, and that was basically you need to buy X, Y, and Z if you want a LaFerrari. The discussion I had with them was that I didn’t want X or Y, and I wasn’t sure I really wanted Z either, but I had all these others that I really liked. And they said, “No, it’s only your recent buying history that counts.” And so the LaFerrari didn’t happen. That was about the same time that McLaren was starting up, and at the time we actually lived about 15 minutes away from the McLaren headquarters in Woking. I had met a few of the McLaren people in the area and in one of the discussions I just let it drop - not too subtly - that if McLaren was to do a successor to the F1, I’d be very interested in getting in line for that. Later, McLaren called up and said, “Look, we are going to be doing a new car [what became the P1]. We’ve got your name down, you want to come in and talk to us and see if you’re really interested?” So I did and we put down a deposit. At the same time, Ferrari’s telling me I need to buy all this stuff and McLaren’s saying, “Great, we’re happy to have you as a customer.” They had just launched the 12C and at the time I said, “Look, I’m not really interested in the 12C, but I do want the P1.” And they said, “No problem, you don’t need to buy the 12C to get a P1 build slot. We don’t operate that way.” McLaren knew that there were a lot of people who were not happy with Ferrari’s approach on these things and they were quite accommodating. So I guess the first McLaren we technically bought was a P1 and that was when the number of Ferraris slowed down dramatically and the McLarens started to pick up. When we put down the deposit on the P1 they said, “When you have a chance, we would love to have you come test drive a
9 12C.” About nine months later, we were in London and we called up the dealer and said we had a couple hours and could stop by and take a look. We really didn’t want the coupe, but now they had the 12C Spider. We went into the dealership and my wife took the car out first. I went to Hyde Park to just sit and read a book, figuring they’d be back in half an hour. About an hour and a half later I called her to find out where she was. She’s like an hour outside of London and says, “This thing is great! We’ll be back in a bit.” And so I think it was about a two-hour test drive. They just let her keep driving the thing. I’ll never forget it because they come back in, and the salesman looks at me, smiles, and says to me, “You’re buying a car!” That was our first super series McLaren. And that started the whole slew of McLarens after the P1. We’ve had nine now and have four currently. Automobiles RIMA: So four McLarens and...? SSO: One Ferrari, two Porsches. A couple of Mercedes SUVs and a Maserati Grand Tourismo. Automobiles RIMA: Back to Ferrari for a minute, did you ever consider an Enzo? SSO: I had a couple of opportunities to acquire an Enzo. It just never really worked out. There was one that I came very close to until I found out I had a replacement engine the dealer had failed to disclose. To be honest, the Enzo was a lot more attractive when it was still relatively new. It’s a car that didn’t age terribly well. From a tech standpoint, the gearbox is horrendous. If you’ve driven a 430 Scuderia, the gearbox in that car is so much better than the one in the Enzo. It has a lovely engine, but you’d pull the shift lever, and you could go have coffee and come back by the time the Enzo has shifted gears. Automobiles RIMA: I’ve driven an Enzo, and remember it feeling like a big car.

the outside. It was cat and mouse and the Mosler was worth one tenth of the Enzo but it handled better. Automobiles RIMA: There certainly weren’t many Mosler MT900s around. It was a very rare car. SSO: That was a really interesting car and I have a soft spot for them. The Mosler had a lot of potential but it was far more race car than road car. It was powered by a GM LS6 or LS7 engine connected to a Porsche gearbox. I think you fixed it with a hammer. It was a pretty basic car but with great downforce and incredibly light, so it was really quick and the thing handled beautifully. It was just pretty raw. We didn’t want to leave it out in the rain because you’d come back and there would be a small puddle in the footwells. It was things like that which made it uniquely charming. Automobiles RIMA: So speaking of the track, you’ve tracked most of your cars? SSO: Probably about half of them. Which is ironic, because I’m not a huge fan of tracking road cars. Race cars are so much better on a track. The difference between road tires and slicks is huge. Automobiles RIMA: With your Ferraris, have you ever done the Challenge series?
SSO: No, I never did the series, but I did something SSO: Yeah, the Enzo is big. The other reason I lost in Europe called Fiorano, Ferrari, which was a interest in the Enzo was something that happened on a program Ferrari put together and was an awful lot of track day. This would have been back in 2012. I had a fun for five or six years. It was more track day than Mosler MT900S at the time and a friend of mine had challenge series. But it was really nicely done. Then I his Enzo out. When we were on the track together, guess there was an internal power struggle at Ferrari he could pull away a bit on the straights because he and they decided to kill the whole thing. I thought it had a couple hundred more horsepower, but in the was one of the best programs they had. There was corners I was right back on him and able to go around a lot of politics going on in Maranello. As we were

all part of this program, we had all bought these 360 Challenges, and some of the guys had just traded up to 430 Challenges, then Ferrari blew the whole thing up. We were all left with these race cars and nothing to do with them. Ferrari can be such a strange animal. You have to separate local subsidiaries, Maranello, and the dealers. I’ve dealt with dealers in five or six different countries. Some of them were really good. The dealer in the UK, Carrs Ferrari in Exeter, which was the one we use, they’re fantastic. I still have a relationship with them to this day. If anything goes wrong on the F40, I still call Harvey at Carrs. He was the mechanic who worked on it for years and he’s great. Meanwhile, the Ferrari dealer in Dallas - they’re an absolute nightmare. If I had to choose between walking a hundred miles or borrowing a car from them, I’d walk. Ferrari North America, in my brief interactions with them, have been quite good. Maranello runs hot and cold, depending on who it is and what they’re looking for.
fiber tub, a GM engine, and the gearbox is CIMA. SCG will produce as many as he can sell based on capacity. SCG’s production run is already sold out for the next two years. And they’re all hand built. It’s a really interesting undertaking and he’s put together a great company. I was there two weeks ago; they’re just finishing a lot of the prototype testing.
Automobiles RIMA: Have you dealt with any of the local dealers, either Boston or Greenwich? SSO: I haven’t dealt with Greenwich. I’ve dealt with Boston briefly. And they seem to actually be quite good. My one interaction with them was a pretty good experience. And I haven’t bought a car from them. At some point I might. We’ll see.
Automobiles RIMA: Speaking of your wife, she’s obviously on board with all this.
Automobiles RIMA: So what’s next? You must have your eye on something. SSO: I’ve got a Glickenhaus SCG 004S on order. Jim Glickenhaus has a spectacular collection and is now producing his own cars. This is a three-seat central driving position vehicle, and it’s going to be made in Danbury, Connecticut. It will have a carbon
Automobiles RIMA: You obviously like to drive your cars. Where do you mostly take them? SSO: Well, COVID’s made it a bit more interesting but we drive all over the East Coast. There are a lot of great roads just around here and with the COVID lockdowns, I’ve ended up driving every single one about 10 different times in each car. My wife and I also have a house out in Montana. That’s a great driving area. It’s really a ski house but we go out for a couple of weeks in the summer.
SSO: Yes. She enjoys it. She really does. The Maserati is her daily driver. That’s a Gran Turismo Sport. She probably has a heavier foot than I do at times. She’ll move down the road rather smartly. She loves driving the Maserati and she had a Jaguar XKR before that. She really likes the Gran Turismo. Automobiles RIMA: Is it a convertible? SSO: Yeah, we tend to be convertible people. In the Maserati, you do lose a little bit of rigidity. But the McLarens are all built on carbon fiber tubs so you don’t lose anything going with a Spider versus
11 a coupe. Spiders are about 40 pounds heavier, but if you’re that worried about 40 pounds you can save more by sending the driver to the gym.

We have a little bit of a very broken English-Italian Automobiles RIMA: With all the cars you’ve discussion, and then off we go. We take off pretty owned, do any notable experiences stand out? rapidly out of the service station. About two minutes up the road there’s a police car with its sirens on. I SSO: I think enough time has gone by that I can tell wasn’t quite sure how this was going to end but then this story now. Probably the most unique experience we saw that he actually was clearing people out of the I ever had in a car was coming back from an F40 way. It’s a three-lane highway and he’s moving cars event that Ferrari organized in Maranello. This would over for us, going up alongside them and motioning have been about 14 years ago. And it was the F40’s for them to move over so we can get through. I can’t 20th anniversary. After the event, there were a couple believe this is happening. And so for the next 100 of people that I met at the event and we arranged to plus miles, we had this rolling escort. They’re just rendezvous on the highway heading home. The first clearing cars out of the way. We were doing well over day we were to drive from Maranello to Monaco. 200 kilometers an hour the whole time. It was just We’re staying right outside Monaco in a hotel up in fabulous. I’ll never forget the last thing the policeman the hills. As a few of us had to pick up things at the said to me before we left the gas station. He said, factory, we arranged to meet on the highway. We “When you get to the French border, you slow down. rendezvoused at the service station and we all got The French police, they’re not nice.” They took us all there about the same time. Now you’ve got these the way to the Italian border. Sure enough, we crossed four F40s pulling into the service station right off the into France, we slowed down, and the French police Italian autobahn, and right behind us, in come two were sitting there waiting. We were right at the speed police cars. The speed limit on the highway there was limit. They just frowned at us. We then made our way probably about 150 kilometers an hour and my guess down to Monaco. That was a phenomenal experience. is we might have been stretching that a little bit. It was The other one that comes to mind was up in interesting - we’re four abreast at the pumps with two Scotland. A number of years ago, we were up doing a police cars stopped about 50 feet behind us. And these road trip. One of the guys who organized it was good four policemen got out of the cars, and they just stood friends with the chief of police for that area. He let the there. They’re looking at us and we’re looking at them police know that we would be coming through, and and I’m thinking this can’t be good. Fortunately, one they were quite helpful. We stopped in this little town of our guys spoke a little bit of Italian and decided for lunch. After lunch, we’re leaving the town, which to talk to them to find out what’s going on. He goes over and starts talking to them. The rest of us have no idea what’s happening, but we see lots of gesturing and the police keep pointing at the cars. This goes on for about 10 minutes. He finally comes back and says they just want to look at the cars and that when we leave, they want to hear the cars. The police say they’re going to call their friends up the highway and they’ll clear everybody out of the way for us. This sounds highly suspicious to me. Then the police come over and introduce
12 was this long drive up this very long hill. We were told, as soon as you clear the town outskirts, just floor it. The roads are clear and you’re good for the next 10 miles or whatever. So we did. As I was getting to the top of the hill, I saw this police car off on the side of the road and this guy holding something in his hand, which I immediately assumed was a radar gun. I saw that and I smashed the brakes. I almost put my passenger through the windshield, despite the seatbelt. As I’m screeching slowing down as I go by him, it turns out it’s a video camera. He just wanted to film us going out of town. As I drive by, he just waves at me.

The visceral thrill of the raw power, so close to the ground, and the acceleration of the twin turbo V8 has to be experienced. There’s just nothing like it. More Power, Torque and Acceleration With a combination of a high-output twin-turbo V6 and torque-vectoring Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® three-motor hybrid system, the second generation NSX drivetrain has been groundbreaking since the supercar launched in 2016. Enhanced for the new NSX Type S, it produces the highest combined output of any drivetrain in any road-going Acura ever, with a combined system output of 600 horsepower and 492 lb.-ft. of torque. Hand-built in a special facility at the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio, the supercar’s exclusive twinturbocharged 3.5-liter 75-degree V6 engine is enhanced with new fuel injectors (providing a 25 percent higher flow rate), new intercoolers (capable of dissipating an additional 15 percent more heat), and new turbochargers shared with the NSX GT3 Evo (delivering a 5.6 percent increase peak boost pressure from 15.2 to 16.1 psi.). The result is an increase in engine output from 500 hp to 520 hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque to 443 lb.-ft. The gear ratio for the Twin Motor Unit (TMU) that powers the front wheels and provides active torque vectoring in corners has been lowered to 10.382:1 from 8.050:1. This 20 percent lower ratio increases off-theline torque, giving NSX a powerful launch. Additionally, the supercar’s Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) providing power to the electric motors is used more efficiently. This allows for a 20 percent higher usable battery capacity, and 10 percent greater battery output. The higher capacity and output allowed engineers to retune the electric motors in the Sport

9-Speed DCT Transmission Advancements NSX Type S routes power through a 9-speed dualclutch transmission (DCT), which has been retuned for even greater performance. Enhancements include an all-new Rapid Downshift Mode, more aggressive automatic downshifting, even faster upshifts in Sport and Sport+ modes and a higher rev threshold for downshifts in Track mode.
downshifts almost immediately when brake pressure is applied, such as when slowing for a corner. This helps maintain stability by changing gears while the car is in a straight line and sets up NSX for even faster acceleration out of corners by optimizing engine speed. Transmission behavior in Track mode has been improved as well, allowing NSX Type S to downshift earlier thanks to a rev threshold that has been increased by 1,500 rpm. This change lets NSX Type S drivers activate the downshift paddle earlier during deceleration. Optimized Handling, Ride Comfort and Response Acura engineers have optimized the chassis, suspension and response of the NSX Type S, increasing the supercar’s performance and emotional connection with its driver. The four modes of its Integrated Dynamics System also have been retuned to improve performance, and the Intake Sound Control (ISC) and Active Sound Control (ASC) have been reprogrammed for a more integrated engine note. The result is a unique supercar experience that combines world-class handling and thrust with an impassioned driving experience and daily livability.
Integrated Dynamic System Quiet Mode – Quiet mode combines the increased battery capacity and output with the new lower gearing for the TMU for sharper acceleration from a stop. The higher output and capacity also mean that NSX Type S can remain in its pure electric mode for In Sport mode and above, the new Rapid Downshift extended periods, even when using more aggressive allows the driver to skip several gears at a time by inputs of the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the ISC holding down the downshift paddle, rather than clicking is programmed for minimal engine sound while in through individual gears. When the paddle is held down Quiet mode. for 0.6 seconds, the transmission automatically selects the lowest possible gear for the vehicle’s speed, reducing the amount of time spent shifting and allowing the driver to apply throttle even more quickly. Using the paddles to upshift in Sport and Sport+ modes has been improved with new programming that engages the clutch up to 50 percent faster from the moment the paddle is activated, improving acceleration. If the paddles are not used while in Sport+ mode, the transmission

Sport Mode – In addition to implementing the new Rapid Downshift function, Sport mode has been updated with new calibrations for the suspension dampers and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD®. The new suspension calibrations reduce body roll and brake dive, creating a more stable turn-in. The supercar uses its Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® to vector torque and create a yaw moment giving NSX Type S steering a sportier and more responsive feeling. When exiting a corner the TMU assists with additional torque for a direct and light feeling, with less accelerator pedal input. Sport+ Mode – Intended for spirited driving on winding roads, Sport+ has been reprogrammed to help the driver feel more integrated with the car, starting with earlier downshifting when the transmission is in fully automatic mode. The Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® is optimized to help improve turn-in by using the torque vectoring to create an even more aggressive turning feel for a given steering angle. When accelerating out of a corner, the TMU offers additional assist, stabilizing the car while improving acceleration. In Sport+, gear upshifts also are up to 50-percent faster, reducing the amount of time between shifts and improving acceleration. Track Mode –Track mode has been updated to maximize the additional performance and grip potential of the NSX Type S. When downshifting into 2nd through 7th gears, the allowable downshift speed has been raised by 1,500 rpm, giving the driver more control over power delivery and keeping the engine in its most powerful rev range in circuit conditions. Additionally, in Track Mode, the ISC and ASC sound profiles also are optimized and provide a more clearly audible cue on the ideal shift points.
Bespoke Pirelli P-Zero Tires To maximize performance, Pirelli has developed a new P-Zero tire exclusively for the NSX Type S utilizing advanced modeling technology developed through years of motorsports experience. Sized 245/35ZR19 at the front and 305/30ZR20 at the rear, the tires feature an asymmetric tread pattern for excellent steering precision, rear stability and high grip in wet and dry conditions and Ultra High Performance tread compounds to provide outstanding handling and braking performance. Along with the increase to front and rear track, the new tires contribute to a 6-percent increase in lateral grip. Each bespoke Pirelli P Zero for the 2022 NSX Type S has the “H0” marking on the sidewall indicating that it has been specially developed with Acura to enhance the performance of the supercar. Race-Inspired Design and Aerodynamics Dramatic and aggressive, the new design of NSX Type S remains rooted in the fundamental principles of Total Airflow Management that has guided NSX design from the outset. The new nose, with its larger, more angular air intakes, and the rear end’s larger diffuser work together for enhanced high-speed stability. The new shape of its carbon fiber front spoiler minimizes front aerodynamic lift by directing air flow under the car.
New Forged Wheels, Wider Track New performance forged alloy split-five spoke wheels are available in Matte Shark Grey or Gloss Berlina Black. Their increased negative offset widen the front and rear track of the NSX Type S by 0.4-in. and 0.8in., respectively. This not only improves the supercar’s handling but gives it an especially aggressive stance. To help cool the more powerful engine a larger front grille opening allows more air to reach the radiators, Brembo® High Performance Braking while four additional openings, two on each side, For the 2022 NSX Type S, six-piston front and fourroute air to a sub-radiator behind each corner of the piston Brembo® brakes with red finished calipers are front bumper. The outermost air intakes also pass standard equipment. Upgrading to the Lightweight air through to the side of the car, working with the Package, includes Carbon Ceramic Brembo brakes redesigned front corners to create an air-curtain. This (available with Black, Silver, Red or Orange calipers) reduces the wake along the side of the car, improving and yields a curb weight reduction of nearly 58 lbs. air flow to the side-mounted air intakes for the intercoolers.
17 Air exiting the rear of the car is routed through a new, larger carbon fiber diffuser modeled after the one used on the NSX GT3 Evo race car. Shaped to allow quick air flow through the center section, the diffuser creates downforce. Additional fins help to prevent wake effects from the tires when cornering, which would reduce the downforce in critical cornering maneuvers. The diffuser shape also shifts the negative pressure peak position toward the rear, helping to create a balanced downforce effect. Exclusive Design Details Authentic materials are utilized throughout the NSX Type S, including the carbon fiber used for its front lower spoiler, side sills, rear deck-lid spoiler and the new diffuser. A standard carbon fiber roof not only enhances the new design but helps lower the supercar’s center of gravity by reducing weight higher up in the car. Previously resin, the mesh in each of the front air intakes are steel. Gloss Berlina Black outside mirrors, door handles, a dark exhaust finisher and, for the first-time, Acura badges front and rear are standard. Dark-tinted headlight and taillight lenses and a distinctive red engine cover further the aggressive appearance. “Type S” decals grace the rear quarter panels and each NSX Type S will feature a special numbered plaque mounted to the engine cowling. For increased performance, and an even more custom appearance, buyers can add the available Lightweight Package, which adds a high-gloss carbon fiber engine cover and carbon ceramic brakes. Inside, the Lightweight Package includes carbon fiber accents on the steering wheel and carbon fiber meter hood. Put together, the Lightweight Package reduces curb weight by 57.8 pounds (26.2 kg).
AUGUST 2021 New Gotham Gray Finish Available in 10 colors, the 2022 NSX Type S will be the first Acura product in North America available in an exclusive matte paint finish. The Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio uses a five-layer process that paints individual panels before they are mounted to the car, allowing each panel to completely cure before the next coat of paint is applied. For the even more sinister appearance of Gotham Gray, a clear matte metallic finish is applied as the fifth layer instead of the instead of the glossy clearcoat normally used. Its production will be limited to just 70 of the 350 NSX Type S models that will be built. This exclusive matte metallic finish requires new handling and shipping techniques at the PMC, to ensure it is fully protected when the completed vehicle is being transported. This includes a new protective film applied to the car, and a new, thicker and softer body covering for transportation. In addition, special care and training will be given to Acura dealers, who will instruct owners on the Enhanced Driver-Focused Cabin Inspired by the original NSX, the second-generation NSX interior is an ergonomic and driver-focused design that has been further elevated in NSX Type S. Newly-added are an Alcantara® headliner, embroidered Type S logo on the glove compartment and embossed NSX logos on the headrests. The NSX Type S logo is found on the key fob. Additional interior details include contrast stitching and three available Alcantara® and Semi-Aniline Leather combinations; Ebony, Orchid and Red. Full Semi-Aniline Leather seats in Ebony or Red are optional. Manufactured in America Every second-generation NSX, including NSX Type S, is built exclusively at the Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio. Designed from the outset for production of specialty, hand-built vehicles, the PMC was developed to innovate both the means and the methods of producing low-volume specialty vehicles by marrying the precision of advanced technology with the artistry of human craftsmanship. Also home to NSX GT3 Evo and the MDX, TLX and RDX PMC Editions, more information about PMC is available here. The NSX engine is hand-assembled in a specialized facility within the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio. l

It’s no surprise that most major repairs are needed after the original factory warranty has expired, which means you will have to deal with all the inconvenience, time, energy and expense of those repairs. Depending on the age and mileage of your vehicle, you can purchase up to 120,000 miles of coverage. The Vehicle Service Contract begins on the purchase date and expires according to the term and mileage selected, whichever occurs first, and may include a deductible depending on the option selected. You can select from a national network of over 6,000 authorized service centers or any licensed repair facility in the U.S. or Canada.
