Editor’s Note
Well, here we are again, at the end of yet another year. It seems the older I get, the faster they go by. When I was a kid, it seemed like it took forever to get to the times of the year I wanted to enjoy. Winter seemed like it took the entire year to end...which in my case, since I grew up in a ski area, where we had winter 9 months of the year, that wasn't an unreasonable perception! But I digress...As I write this, Christmas is just around the corner, and before I know it, our next issue will be coming out and it will be February already!

Zibska, just the name, is iconic in Second Life. If you dare to be different, Zibska is the place for you. I will be doing the Spotlight story, and the editorial for our Christmas issue all about Zibska.
Ava: What brought you to Second Life, Zib? Zib: I had first seen Second Life mentioned in the blog of the late University of Hawaii Professor RJ Rummel. He had used SL as a platform to share thoughts and ideas with people around the world, in pixel person, so to speak, and I thought, why not take a look.
I am a person that looks at designers like Zib as creative geniuses, who create art made for the body, whether it’s jewelry, hair, or an outfit. I would say, you could literally take any of her items, frame them Ava: What did you do when you first and put them in your SL house as art. came to Second Life? I sat down with Zib to get the scoop on this Second Life legend.

Ava: I have always felt your look and designs are very different than most, can you tell the readers of Diversity where that Ava: Are you an artist in RL? originates? At times, it is a challenge to myself, as I am always working on improving mesh modeling skills, to see if I can create what I have in mind. Of course, frequently it turns out I do not, but I come up with three other things that I want to make instead. Ava: What is your RL satisfaction from creating in SL? Zib: The simple satisfaction of creation. The digital medium allows for a speedier realization of artistic vision. Ava: As you were a designer before the age of mesh and all the different head appliers. What do you see Zib, as the good and/or bad of all of it?

In the process they explained this technology would be vital to longer trips e.g. to Mars in the future. I thought that was the coolest thing ever, and it all started from a 3D model. While realistically, you and I both know it will never happen, it does amuse me to imagine one of my headpieces adorning a Martian. On the appliers front! Frankly I am looking forward to baked on mesh, when we can hopefully do away with the plethora of different appliers, but it will take ages and by the time most are caught up, we’ll have something new again. Ava: What do you want people to take away from owning your work Zib?
Zib: I think mesh is great, while there is quite the learning curve, I do think it is a cool skill to pick up. A few years ago, NASA Zib: There are enough rules in real life, go demonstrated 3D printing on demand ahead and live it up in Second Life. For

Zibska!!!!
Just the name, is iconic on Second Life. For those ladies and gents out on the grid that dare to take it to another level, we have Zibska, the legend of our time. The editorial for our Christmas issue is all about Zibska. As the Publisher of Diversity, I love to do things that are not the norm, as does my Fashion Editor, Trinity Aironaut. I asked Trin, “what are we going to do with this one?” We we both felt we should just go over there and get inspired and see where it led. Well, it led to something very typical for Trinity and me, WOW & WOW. We created a story of Zibska decorating with all her own Christmas decorations. So, readers of Diversity, grab your Hot Toddy, or your cocoa and enjoy the pages of human, living, breathing Christmas decorations.
Once Upon a Time, there was a designer name Zib Scaggs and she liked to play with materials, such as different fabrics, metals and colors to make her fashionista dreams come true. She was all done designing and decided to decorate for Christmas. First, Zib wanted a few ornaments for the tree. She used Trinity Aironaut, and dressed her in Zibska’s lovely pink Hilia Deux outfit. Then she added another living ornament, Ava Jhamin and dressed her in the Zibska Imeke outfit, with Mith lips, and Inini makeup. These are the ornaments that make up our cover photo for the December issue of L’Amour Diversity Magazine. VanessaDelRio Underwood, Zib knew, was the perfect present for under her tree. She wrapped her in the Zibska Arisu Deux Outfit, and added Aolani lips and Altro eye makeup. Zib was crazy for ornaments and made another one with Jude Tatham dressed in the Zibska Ruse Outfit, with Vic eye makeup, and Aolani lips. Jan Bacon was the next living ornament to grace Zib’s tree, wearing the Zibska Saffi Oufit, and Suzette lips. Zib knew she also needed some fun decorations, so she decorated Resmay Bloodstorm as The Little Drummer Girl wearing Zibska’s Aurelia Harness and Skirt in Gold, with Kiku cheeks, Savro eyemakeup and Suzette lips. At this point, Zib decided no Christmas tree would be complete without its own Sugar Plum Fairy, so she found an old antique ballerina, with very worn-in pointe shoes and ballet tights from all the years of dancing, named Trinity Aironaut, and dressed her up in Zibska’s Myrna dress

and Vic collar and freshened up her face with Aolani lips and Noir pack #14 eyeshadow. Zib finished off her tree, using her live tinsel models, Trinity Aironaut as the red tinsel and QueenBrat Bracken as the purple tinsel, both wearing the Zibska Denn Outfit, Callisto eyeshadow and Aolani lips. Once her Christmas tree was complete, Zib stepped back to look at her beautiful decorations and with a big smile on her face, went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea.

From this moment, it was a whirlwind of activity, making the dream a reality. Mike took me over to Compulsion, where we found the most beautiful building for L'Amour University & MMI. Then, we mirrored the building on the other side and this became the new corporate offices for all of L'Amour.

Probably, if you have been around for 10-12 years, or more, you have thought about it or may have done the same thing, for whatever reason. First, I am going to give a little background info and then get right to the point. I will try not to be too long winded about it all, but it may help make a bit more sense. Then again, maybe not.
Issue 21 December, 2018 | L’Amour Diversity Magazine
When I was originally in Second life, at the "height" of my SL career if you will, I did many things and I do mean -so manyand I also carried many fancy titles in various businesses. I did everything from magazine editor, writer, photographer, publisher to talk show host and producer. I did casting, photography, graphic arts, building and creating, modeling, model instructing, and was a model agency owner. I hosted contests, DJ’d, owned and managed clubs. I organized large entertainment group functions and even brought real life singers and entertainers into SL. I helped them create their avatars and showed them the ropes -- those are just a few of the things that occupied my Second Life. So, when I “cold turkey” All the old problems, bugs and complaints vanished without trace, Dear John letter or would be no more and a pure pixel utopia anything, it probably was a bit shocking. must be waiting. Right? Well... However, my real life, real family and real world needed me a whole lot more than all those other things. Not even taking into account the fact that, and I owe about 100+ apologies, I had become a pretty terrible person here in SL. I was short and often snippy, an "it's not personal, it's business” machine: good for business bad for the soul. Full transparency, I was a “Witch with a capital B” to most people, unless I was wearing my "fake" business politeness and public relations game face. That is a bit of the story and all we have time for today, so we will fast forward from here. I can’t give an exact time frame, but it was about four or five years before my husband and I reinstalled SL on our computers to give this whole second universe another go. I won’t deny, that maybe there were Back to the Futureesque expectations. You know, thinking in all that time, how far SL must have come and advanced and that it would be a mystifying experience.
First off, let me say, "Oh..My..Mesh.” Everything, as far as the eye can see, is now mostly mesh apparently, including the people and all the strange parts...I never. Floating eyes and brains and the likes of body parts we never knew we had, back in the old days. It was, and still is, a totally a weird experience. However, I am very lucky. I still have some amazing friends who helped me navigate the sea of flying body parts and huds. Ava and Trinity, thank you. My first impression, was that it seemed almost too overwhelming and like being back might be a mistake, a huge one even. Not to mention, good friends like Ava and Spirit basically informing me, if I didn't want to be all meshed out, as much as they adored me, they would NOT be seen in public with me ever... okay, that's not true, but it sure felt like it! Coming back after a long time, or even being totally a newbie, seems much harder now than it ever used to, and let’s

be real, a whole forking truck load more expensive! Learning about all the different things and what they mean, “what the holy shirt balls is Bento again?” “You mean you need a body and a head, and maybe even separate hands and feet?” Now, I had quite the inventory when I left SL. I may have been a bit of a hoarder -- over 120k "things, stuff" that you are now telling me is 92% useless and is mostly garbage? Like my shoes, “oh the shoes....” the Similar and Moody, and N-Core and P10 and... okay, I may be getting sidetracked. And NO, I don’t care if they are prim or sculpt or this or that, I’m NOT getting rid of them. No can do. So thankfully, Ava took me around to some of the places for demos of all the new things. She and Trinity did show me some of the huds and helped me with them. So, it took a week or so before the husband and I decided to upgrade totally to mesh avatars. Mine has a Bento head, mesh body and the rest of the family, mesh. Not a strong resolve, since I swore for that first weekish I wanted to stay how I was and I liked my avatar just fine and heck with all this mesh. I do not know if I expected that to be the wave of the future, it certainly doesn’t feel like a Delorean. It took me days, as I mentioned and a little help from friends, for the animations to stop. Here’s a secret, it took me more than three weeks to learn I could change the shape and length of my nails with my body HUD, that I have on almost all the time now. Three weeks! There has to be a better way. But, as it was years ago I suppose, so it is today. We learn as we go. Retail therapy is one of the most popular past times in Second Life and in recent years, shopping events have overtaken individual stores when it comes to Lindens being spent. In the past 8+ years shopping events and experiences have been popping up across the grid selling everything from home and furniture to fantasy costumes for roleplay. One such event, that has been providing monthly themed shopping for nearly 3 years, is Dazzle. Established and run by Dove (palomma.casanova), founder of the awesome 'Free Dove' brand, which offers low cost and free items for new avatars or those with a low income, Dazzle is Dove's opportunity to get creative and bring us shoppers a treat each month. When I first visited Dazzle, my initial thoughts were how well put together the event was. The landmark teleported me to a beautiful garden oasis, filled with natural flora and fauna, plus cute little booths where the designers sell their wares.
event came about. I asked her why Dazzle was themed and her response was to the point, "It is themed because designers also need some fun when they design. This event is for the artistic designer. With an assigned theme, the designer will challenge themselves, taking their minds to another world of creativity other than the usual daily designing tasks."
I was curious as to why a successful business woman like Dove would want to run a fashion event. With some experience myself, I knew this was hard As I walked along the pathways, tiptoeing work. Her reply was "I have run Free Dove over water lilies and splashing through since 2005. Designers always gave a free ponds, I was delighted to see plenty of gift, so I decided I wanted an event where new and unknown designers proving that these designers could sell things too." there is a lot of upcoming talent in the SL fashion world. There were of course I asked Dove the rather contentious some old familiars in the shape of Chop question about SL having too many Zuey, Face Paint and so on, but the variety fashion events and her reply was honest, of stores, all designing to theme of course, but rang true. "There are definitely too was really exciting from a shopping many events, but each has its own unique perspective. concept." I went on to ask what made Dazzle unique, "I like making it fun, so it I was delighted to grab a few minutes with is never the same and never has a boring Dove and talk about Dazzle and how this atmosphere. I like to keep it fresh."

spending a lot of time on the sim. Dazzle is an interesting shopping event and you can see the owner’s enthusiasm for the themes and in the style of the location as you walk around. I have certainly enjoyed this current round and look forward to future themes and to see how the sim might change. But for now my retail therapy need has been sated, for a while anyway! But I urge you to visit Dazzle soon. Open from 1st to 25th of each month, you can obtain the Slurl for Dazzle by clicking here. Happy shopping! After checking out the stores and handing over a few Lindens in the process, I found several hidden areas that weren't about shopping and retail, but about hanging out, relaxing, possibly with that special someone, or even just hanging out with friends. This was something I hadn't seen before in SL, shopping events and everything had been created and put together so well, I could see myself

Jonelle: My year with MMI started out on a recommendation by a friend that I should give it a try. She said it would help me to build confidence in myself as both a model and a competitor. I have always enjoyed competitions, and when the announcement for MMI came my way, I decided to enter. What I love about competitions, is the opportunities they present to build on all sorts of skills.

Especially the meeting new people part! My fellow competitors were kind, gracious and supportive of each other throughout the process and we all made new friends. Every week, I learned from the kind comments by the judges and sought to take their advice, as we advanced through the competition. I enjoyed the challenges that presented me with the chance to excel in styling and creativity. Living up to the spirit of the challenge, yet putting my own spin on things, helped me to grow, both as a model and a stylist. As I give my crown to the next Miss MMI, I wish her fun, new friends, and an opportunity to shine like the gem
Whsky: At first I was hesitant to enter MMI, but with encouragement from my wife, Liberty Lighthouse and Ava Jhamin I decided to enter. At the time I entered, I did not have a great deal of experience in modeling or modeling competitions and seeing the itinerary was intimidating at first. MMI is not your normal modeling competition or pageant and it tested me in more than one way. MMI took up a lot of my Second Life time and for three months there was really no break; from styling your outfits to then taking your own pictures of that styled outfit to be judged for the competition. MMI tested our creativity along with how we styled outfits. For me, MMI was a great learning experience and I would recommend any model who is thinking of entering to do so, but it does take a lot of time and dedication. But the experience is well worth it, there are workshops along the way and mentors who will help when you need it. The

female friends and family. But what struck me about this lady haven, is the total difference in atmosphere to other clubs I have been to.
Pammy’s Ladies Club is more than just a club, it includes shopping, housing, hangouts and of course, fun. Yes, the sim is for female avis only, sorry boys, but it meets so many of our female needs, that you actually won’t miss the men.
The sim has a tropical beach setting, with plenty of palm trees and sandy beaches for all. There are a few clothing stores dotted about the place and if you cam around, you will eventually find the residential section, slightly separate from the club. There are plenty of places to Second Life predominantly caters to men. ‘hang out,’ if an event isn’t on and a lot of A controversial statement you might think, the places I walked through, would make but let’s look at the evidence. nothing else. When I first visited, I found myself in a 50s style diner, packed full of ladies in their swing dresses and bobby socks. The day after that, the club was transformed into a beach party. With the sun shining down, you would be forgiven for forgetting that it is winter for many of us and Christmas is just around the corner. Another day, I went to take some photographs and when I arrived, the club had been converted into a cowboy salon, in preparation for the event later that day. Two of the people I passed whilst on the sim, told me with enthusiasm, that it was going to be a cowgirl party and that I should definitely come along.
wasn’t a barrage of sound, competing with the music. And oh, the music! Well, it was just what I love. On 50s night, they play the classics, all those tunes your Grandparents used to dance to. Then at the Beach party, things were more mellow, with a few old romantic tunes and the odd 80s ballad. For cowgirl night, there is bound to be some country and perhaps soft rock and that is just fine with me. I pride myself on having an eclectic taste in music, so the fact there is a different genre every night, really appeals to me.
For someone who doesn’t visit clubs that often anymore, Pammy’s was a real breath of fresh air. I felt safe there, That was also something I wasn’t used to instantly welcome and I left with a smile when visiting a new club; just how friendly on my face. So, to all you ladies looking everyone is. Of course, there is the usual for somewhere different, make sure you host, who welcomes you and directs you head over today. to the dance ball, etc. But everyone said hello when I arrived and several IM’d me to offer a personal welcome and to ask about me. It was in no way flirting or sexual, just friendly and inquiring. The conversation was flowing and although there were a few gestures flying around, it

L’Amour Productions 3rd Annual Spooktacular Event,
On October 28, 2018, L’Amour Productions held it’s 3rd Annual Spooktactular Event. It was unique to any fashion show you may have seen on the grid. Spooktacular focused on the fashion, but it also brought the stories to life, it was more like a Broadway Production on Crack!
The premise of the storyline happened 200 years ago. It took place in a barren land of history and myth, where no one dared venture, except the misfits of this frightening, yet enchanting world.
Cassie (Cassandra1961) of Classy-NSassy, was the designer for Spooktactular, and she really worked hard to bring the designs to life for the show.
They were all ghosts and forgotten souls from throughout history, who were cast into a forgotten world, for different reasons. Today, we’re going to see a little snapshot from their lives.

The show depicted Cleopatra and Caesar, The Big Bad Wolf of Wall Street and Little Red Riding Hood. There was a very scary Black Widow who almost ate a few of the patrons of the show and an Angel and a Fallen Angel, as well as several other characters in this production.
The female models on the runway were, Jan Bacon (Jan1 Ying), Jude TathamRose (Jude Tatham), Laycie Pearl, Mrs. Kitty Dark Rage (CatsMeow17) and Abby (AbigailOrganic). The male models were Kijote, ThunderStormin, Balhem Soulstar, and Herb Carnell.
Trinity Aironaut, Hadley Carrington and Gisa Bayn were pose models, trapped in giant spider webs at the front of the runway entrance.
Ava Jhamin played hostess and the script was written as a dual-team effort by Hadley & Ava Jhamin. There was a party after the show and a good time was had by all. Keep an eye out for next year’s 4th Annual Spooktacular Event, it is an event truly, not to be missed!
L’Amour Productions’ Model Director, Rienna Lenior (Rienna Rieko) hovered above the stage in a sexy demoness outfit created especially for her by Cassie.
