BEAT More than 25 years ago, I moved from Switzerland to the United States of America.

Well, to be honest after about 6 months in Florida I got homesick for Switzerland, I did not miss the mountains that much, because I knew that Florida was flat and hot, what I really missed was being able to live in a town where one can live, learn, work and play and I was irritated by the fact that everything one wanted to do, like going to a coffee shop, a grocery store, a movie theater required you to drive, sometimes even for miles.

In my hometown Zurich back in Switzerland, you do not need a car, you can truly live, learn, work, and play within a square mile.

Today while spending time on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean many times I am asked which do you like better Switzerland or Orlando.

Well truly being home in both worlds I love both. There are clearly differences.

When asked if, despite COVID 19, we should have Fireworks in Avalon Park on July 4th my answer was immediately: ABSOLUTELY. We will obey all safety and distancing rules, but we will celebrate the independence of America on July 4th in Avalon Park.

3 Learning Environment Options

We are very excited for the new school year to begin in August!

I am proud to announce we will be offering 3 safe options for our families to choose from when deciding on their child’s attendance in August. At Pinecrest Academy we will provide a traditional option of attending school in a face-to-face format following all CDC guidelines, working solely from home by engaging in Remote Live Instruction, or a hybrid model that blends coming to school part-time with staying home part-time while engaging in Remote Live Instruction. Remote Live Instruction can be defined as students logging into a secure site, via technology, and attending class through a video conferencing platform at home (synchronous learning). Students will follow the daily school schedule and interact with the teacher and classmates from the comfort and safety of their own home.

DEVELOPING THE SWIMMER Developmental Swim Teams EAST PASCO FAMILY YMCA 2020

The intent of this group is to “Prepare for TEAM”. With a focus on an introduction to the sport of swimming, participants will build on skills learned in swim lessons and learn basic technique of all four strokes. Coaches teach awareness of body in and out of water, streamlines, starts and turns. Participants must be members of the Y. Developmental The Developmental Swim Team bridges the gap between swim lessons and our competitive swimming program, the Tampa YMCA Stingrays Swim Team. Practices focus on learning and improving the four competitive strokes, starts, and turns and building endurance. Developmental Swim Team participants will have the opportunity to participate in Developmental swim meets with other participants from Tampa YMCA's. All swimmers interested in swimming on one of our Developmental Swim Teams must schedule an assessment with one of our coaches to ensure they are able to swim at an appropriate level.

Pasco Welcomes Baymar Solutions to the County The Pasco Economic Development Council (Pasco EDC) is pleased to welcome Baymar Solutions to the county. Baymar Solutions is investing $2,090,000 in an existing facility off of Gunn Highway in Odessa. The company has been in business since 2006 and is expanding their operations and capabilities. They will be hiring five new employees well above the average county wage.

“Baymar Solutions is a great addition to that area of the county,” said Pasco County Commissioner Kathryn Starkey. “The Odessa and Lutz areas are quickly becoming an attractive place for many compa-

nies in the Life Sciences industry.
