Little Free Library Starts New Chapter

On a beautiful spring morning outside of the Avalon Pavilion at Tanja King Park, the Rotary Club officially dedicated the newest Little Free Library to the Avalon Park community in honor of their late fellow Rotarian, Jared Morgan. The public outdoor event drew club members and honored guests of the Morgan family.

“Thank you to everyone that joined me today to remember our dear friend, Jared,” stated Dom Caprani, Rotary Club of Avalon Park former President. “This library is a testament to Jared’s legacy in our community and the pleasure and privilege that I had of being his friend.” Jared Morgan served as Club President for Rotary District 6980 in 2013-2014 The Jared H. Morgan Memorial Library is open for sharing and anyone is free to use it. The post is located at 13401 Tanja King Blvd.

“For Becky, her family and all of Jared’s friends, this library is a testament to his legacy in our community,” Caprani said. ”It will forever remind us all of the huge difference that he made, and the impact of knowing him and to have been his friend.”

History: As part of the group’s ongoing community service projects, the Rotary Club of Avalon Park built Avalon’s first Little Free Library in Founders Square almost six years ago. Since that time, the book sharing has gained such positive feedback, the club has decided to install two more, with expansion plans down the road.
