ALL CARS BEGIN AS A CONCEPT. ON RARE OCCASIONS, THEY END AS ONE. It began as an idea unburdened by limitations. And in the end, despite the practicality of manufacturing and the challenges of production, it remained one. Generations of Jewels Never Hear “You Shouldn’t Have” Again™ Bridal Selections

Contemporary Diamond Wedding Bands

Diamonds are used in engagement jewelry to denote constancy and commitment. The enduring qualities of this precious stone make it an emblem of purity and perfection that is invincible against all other forces. The Ring symbolizes the enduring qualities of true love. It was originally created as a gift reflective of lifelong affections. It is a very accurate and concrete form of expression; this circle, with no opening and no end, is an illustration of the eternal promise of Love.

“I have so many fans who ask me all the time what I am wearing, or ask where I got my watch or some piece of jewelry. I just thought that this was a great time to put my signature on a collection.” —Melania Trump Black satin dress by Dolce & Gabbana. style. She’s never too much, never overdone. She’s just right. She wears what she wears with a great sense of security.” To Wolkoff, the attractive price point is nothing short of genius. “So many people will want to have a piece of her. So many people will want to wear what she has created,” she adds. “She’s going to make a business for herself that will be really successful.” When talking to Melania, it’s clear that Mr. Trump is not the only one in the family with a head for business. Melania was drawn to QVC simply because they are one of the best shopping networks around. “They are a great way to get into homes all across America,” she says. “You can be sitting in your living room, see something that you like and buy it.” She also has her eye on another segment of the population as potential jewelry buyers: busy men. “A man could easily tune in and buy a present for a loved one. If he doesn’t have time, or doesn’t want to go out and shop, but he needs a present for Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day or a birthday, he might easily see something he thinks would suit his wife or daughter or mother and buy it”—all without breaking the bank. Her own husband doesn’t need to shop for bargains, but he thinks she has a great design sense. “She’s beautiful inside and out,” Donald Trump says. “And she has a great aesthetic eye. She just has an amazing innate sense of fashion and beauty that cannot be learned. She can design a coat, make the coat and wear the coat, and women will come up to her and say, ‘Where did you get that coat? I have to have it.’” As the story suggests, Melania has been involved in every aspect of the process of launching her jewelry line, from inception to manufacture to marketing. “I don’t do things in half measures,” she says. “If it is going to have my name on it, I have to be involved every step of the way, first designing it on paper, then creating a sample, then producing it, then sharing it. That’s the way I am about everything, 100 percent. When I chair the Heart Ball in Palm Beach, I give 100 percent. I help choose the invitations, decorations—everything. That’s the way I am.”

Page 42

And it is how she has approached motherhood. “My first priority is my little boy,” she says. “He needs me to be there for him, to guide him. I have breakfast, lunch and dinner with him. It’s very important. I always say, ‘I have a little boss in the house.’” The little boss may soon be giving the big boss a run for his money on the golf course. Young Barron is taking golf lessons during the family’s regular weekends in Palm Beach at Mar-a-Lago. André Leon Talley, Vogue’s larger-than-life editor at large who has been friends with Melania since the two traveled to Paris to choose her wedding dress, says that whenever he has lunch with her, half the conversation is about young Barron. He marvels at how she has stayed true to who she is, while fulfilling the demanding role of being Mrs. Trump. “She has such integrity,” he says. “She stays true to her own style. She is impeccable, and she has such soignée. She has soignée the way Carolina Herrera has soignée and C. Z. Guest had soignée. And she has it in six-anda-half inch Louboutins, which she wears even when she drops Barron off at school.” Being Mrs. Trump hasn’t changed her, Melania says. “It’s just me being me. Yes, my last name is Trump, but I am keeping my identity. I don’t think a marriage works if you want to change the other person. Women should do what they want to do to make their dreams come true. You have to be who you are.” And no, she is not fazed by her husband’s legendary germaphobia. “I support him 100 percent about that. I am the same way. I think he was just the first one to be honest about how germs spread.” This can be a challenge, with a husband who is one of the most famous people in the country. Whenever they are out, adoring fans approach them, and many, many people want to shake his hand. But fame and fans and the prospect of some big-time success are just facts that Melania takes in her usual, elegant, long-legged stride, saying, “My life feels completely normal to me.”

“Melania just has an amazing innate sense of fashion and beauty that cannot be learned. She can design a coat, make the coat, and wear the coat, and women will come up to her and say, ‘Where did you get that coat? I have to have it.’” —Donald Trump

A Better Beauty At his Upper East Side practice, Dr. Elie Levine offers a personalized approach to plastic surgery

S

imply put, Dr. Elie Levine, Director of Plastic Surgery at Plastic Surgery and Dermatology of NYC, PLLC, is one of the most acclaimed cosmetic plastic surgeons in New York City. A graduate of Columbia College, Dr. Levine went on to attend Yale University School of Medicine where he graduated cum laude, finishing in the top 5 percent of his class. He completed his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Mount Sinai Medical Center and then served as an aesthetic fellow at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Today, Dr. Levine is associated with both institutions, but he works primarily out of his Upper East Side office’s AAASF-certified operating room. There, Dr. Levine runs a cutting-edge aesthetic surgical practice. He customizes treatments to fit each patient’s anatomy, skin type and age in order to avoid the stereotypical “plastic” look. “Everyone’s face is shaped differently, and each patient requires a specific combination of treatments to ensure natural-looking results,” says Dr. Levine. Before surgery, Dr. Levine uses morphing software to give patients a sense of what can be accomplished through various procedures. “Patients who come to me for a rhinoplasty may not realize how the procedure will affect their entire facial structure,” he explains. “Our morphing software allows me to give my patients a more realistic idea of the surgery’s outcome so I can work with them to make sure they are completely satisfied with the results.” Dr. Levine’s practice extends beyond plastic surgery to encompass a big-picture approach to beauty. “We launched our practice with the vision of bringing comprehensive aesthetic care to New Yorkers of all ages,” says Dr. Levine. To that end, his wife, dermatologist Dr. Jody Levine, contributes her expertise in medical and surgical dermatology for both children and adults.“While I often work with the quantitative aspects of one’s face, my wife focuses on improving the quality of the skin,” explains Dr. Levine. “Plastic surgery alone may not be enough to achieve a youthful look if the skin appears aged. Jody can remedy that problem through her own customized combination of products, skin treatments, lasers and injectables,” he adds. Patients also benefit from an in-house esthetician. Dr. Levine specializes in facial aesthetic surgery, and is one of the foremost plastic surgeons for face lifts, rhinoplasty and eyelid and brow rejuvenation. He is also an expert in body

contouring procedures, including liposuction, breast augmentation, abdominoplasties and post-bariatric procedures. He prides himself on offering his clients all-around care, such as optimizing the skin before and after surgery to reduce redness, decrease swelling and improve healing and results. In a city where cookie-cutter plastic surgeries are all too common, Dr. Levine offers patients not just a youthful look, but a naturally beautiful, youthful look. ✦
