Q1, 2020

Of the earth by the earth for the earth New Crush range of sustainable label facestocks Barley and citrus aren’t just mixers anymore. Paper maker Favini uses the organic ingredients to create their sustainable line of Crush papers, which are now available as a label. To learn about the inspiration behind the Crush range, Avery Dennison Global Marketing Director for Wine and Spirits Ralph Olthoff talked with Favini’s Marketing and Export Sales Director Andrea Favini.

Ralph: What inspired you to create label facestocks made from natural ingredients? Can you tell us about the innovation process? Andrea: The first paper created from the upcycling principle was Shiro Alga Carta, patented by Favini in the ’90s. It uses algae from the Venice Lagoon, the proliferation of which had put the lagoon’s fragile ecosystem at risk. Shiro Alga Carta was a great success with international significance, which inspired Favini’s research and development team to look for a new way to use an alternative ingredient, such as by-products from different industrial sectors, that could partially substitute virgin tree pulp. R: Can you tell us a bit more about the production process? A: Natural by-products of citrus fruits,

grapes, cherries, lavender, corn, olives, coffee, kiwi fruits, hazelnuts and almonds are selected, mechanically cleaned, purified, micronized, and then combined with tree fibres and other ingredients to produce Crush paper. The process remains the same as for other kinds of paper, but we use less energy and no additional chemicals. R: For designers and brands interested in sustainability, how does the Crush range compare to other wine label materials? A: Crush represents a sustainable wine label alternative. Crush is produced with 15 percent agriindustrial by-products and 40 percent post-consumer recycled paper, which results in 20 percent lower CO2 emissions than standard label papers. →

Q1, 2020

About Favini Favini is a leading global producer of graphics specialties, natural fibres-based (cellulose, algae, fruits, nuts, leather, etc.), for the packaging of luxury and fashion industries. Favini is also a worldwide leader in the design and production of textures and finishing solutions for eco-leather for fashion, luxury, design, IT, and technical sportswear sectors. It also operates in the converting products industry sector that includes activities related to the creation and production of stationery for school, leisure and office, for high-end market.

R: How do these sustainable label facestocks compare in terms of durability and application to papers made with 100 percent virgin pulp?

We also created Remake, a paper made from the upcycling process of leather residues that replaces 25 percent wood tree pulp.

A: It’s comparable. On one hand, designers should pay attention to the colour of Crush papers and adapt their design to the material because Crush, by nature, is not white. On the other hand, their variant nature makes them recognizable and adds a distinctive feature.

R: How do you think sustainability will impact the paper industry in the future?

Crush is also compatible with the same printing techniques as standard label papers. In terms of sustainability, however, we suggest minimizing the use of finishing techniques, which can add to a label’s environmental impact. R: Sustainability is very important for Favini; what other initiatives or products do you have that contribute to sustainability? A: Favini, in its DNA, has the principles of circular economy and sustainability. It is these two important aspects which, from an environmental perspective, have led us over the years to seek out alternative solutions using by-products as a precious raw material in the production of low impact and sustainable papers. In addition to Crush, we also developed Shiro, a sustainable range of papers produced using seaweed, renewable non-tree biomass, and recycled fibres.

A: The paper industry has already been influenced by sustainability. In fact, it is, in my opinion, one of the most ethical industries. Our cellulose comes from certified plantations and the research into other fibres – such as fibres from annual plants, recycled fibres, or by-products – with the same features of recyclability and biodegradability, are all increasing. From a company perspective, we are reducing our use of natural resources by decreasing our electricity and water use, as well as our CO2 emissions. Favini’s commitment to sustainability and the environment are available on the Favini website. At Labelexpo, Avery Dennison is introducing the Crush range, consisting of rCrush Barley and rCrush Citrus, our 2 newest materials. Complementing the range is rCrush Grape, the new name for Grape Touch. Visit my-muse.com or Instagram @m_uselive for more label inspiration.

Select Solutions™

CleanFlake™ Recycled PET (rPET) is a valuable and sustainable material, with no limit in eliminating contamination from the recycling stream. The Avery Dennison CleanFlake™ portfolio is designed to improve rPET yields while maintaining all-important shelf appeal. Brands, packaging designers and manufacturers are all seeking PET packaging that supports conventional recycling, especially through clean separation during the sink/float washing process. CleanFlake™ technology meets the design guidelines from the European PET Bottle Platform (EPBP) and from Petcore, which place specific emphasis on raising the output of rPET. As a plug-and-play solution, compatible with the existing value chain, CleanFlake™ technology provides a simple route to improved recycling of PET bottles, leaving no adhesive residue on the resulting PET flakes. It improves upon existing self-adhesive labels, which limit PET recycling into new food-grade containers due to adhesive contamination. The unique ‘switchable’ CleanFlake™ adhesive enables clean label separation in a caustic bath at temperatures down to 70°C, lower than the typical industrial temperature of 85°C (performance at washing temperatures below 70°C needs to be evaluated individually per type of PET package and recycling process). Avery Dennison CleanFlake™ portfolio offers a wide range of facestocks, from FSC-certified semi-gloss paper to PP films, available in white, clear, and silver.

Key features – Allows PET recycling into rPET, which preserves a valuable raw material – Available with paper and film material in white, clear (“no-label” look) and silver – Available with FSC-certified glassine liners and rPET23 liner made partially from Post Consumer Waste (PCW) PET bottle flakes content; the first attempt towards closed loop recycling! – Plug-and-play solution

Application areas – Labelling of existing or new PET bottles, PET trays and thermoforms, PET containers and other types of PET packaging aimed to be further recycled.

20

Sustainable Solutions

Conversion information CleanFlake™ Flex has been designed specifically to enhance shelf appeal while accommodating the dimensional changes associated with freshly blown and immediately labelled PET bottles and containers. In addition to the choice of substrate, ink systems should be tested for suitability with design guidelines, without negatively impacting conversion or finished label quality.

To ensure clean separation between the label and the PET flake, the final (print+label+adhesive) layer must have a total density of less than 1.0 gram/cm3.

Select Solutions™

Recycled Content PE PE films with recycled content are an important resource for meeting brand owners’ sustainability goals and complying with emerging regulations. Designed for sustainability-oriented brands, rPE is made with 30% recycled PE resin, reducing reliance on fossil-fuel based films and helping to lay the foundation of a “closedloop” plastics economy. Using Avery Dennison rPE filmic facestocks consumes fewer resources, helps to keep plastic out of the waste stream, and gives packaging a more authentic look. Films are available in white and clear, topcoated and nontopcoated, and are an excellent choice for home and personal care products. Recycled PE film inherently contains more impurities than conventional PE film, which gives the film an ‘earthy’, slightly variable look from batch to batch, signalling simplicity, and a commitment to the earth. All without compromising performance during printing, dispensing or application. Printing partly covers the impurities (gels) in the film, allowing some impurities to remain visible. The different aesthetics help to emphasise the ‘sustainability’ of this product on the shelf.

Application areas – Wide range of home & personal care, cosmetics and food applications – Suitable for labelling curved and contoured substrates / conformable or squeezable containers

Key features – Made with 30% post-consumer PE waste – A slightly less uniform appearance, signalling authenticity – Good printing quality with both digital and conventional inks – Offered with our proven TC7007 topcoat in Clear and White – Reduces dependence on fossil fuels (see GreenPrint)

Glass Recycling Clear recycling targets for packaging material are set by the European Union, including glass. It means renewed efforts to make packaging more recyclable or reusable - meeting both legislative requirements and customer demand. Avery Dennison self-adhesive technologies support more effective recycling of both oneway and returnable glass bottles - offering an easy way to meet targets set by legislators and brand owners.

Returnable glass packaging: Wash-off

Labelling of returnable glass bottles and packaging, such as beer and water bottles.

One way glass packaging: Glass Recycling

Labelling of one-way glass bottles and packaging, such as wine bottles and vegetable jars – to be collected via local glass recycling containers and bins.

28

Sustainable Solutions

Wash-off Returnable bottles demand labelling that stays firmly in place during use, and which can be removed easily after return to enable reuse of the bottles. Wash-off label technology is suitable for all returnable glass bottles, using an innovative dual layer construction and a unique adhesive. The label detaches easily from the bottle in a conventional bottle washer, making Wash-off the portfolio of choice for beverage manufacturers who need a reliable clearon-clear ‘no label’ look for returnable bottles.

Key features – Facilitates easy label removal in a conventional bottle washer – No adhesive residues on bottle or in washer – No contamination of the washing water adhesive and inks remain on the label – A clear-on-clear label material that is not affected by humid environments – Labels remain firmly in place at point of sale, and with the consumer – Supports complex shapes and neck labels – Compatible with a wide variety of printing techniques including letterpress, flexo and gravure

How it works The Wash-off facestock contains two film layers that expand at different rates in a hot washer. This makes the label curl for easy removal. Both the adhesive and the inks remain on the label, reducing contamination of the water in the bottle washer. The material can be supplied either ready for the converter to overlaminate or as a complete construction with an over-lamination layer already in place.

Glass Recycling Glass packaging is endlessly recyclable, but the challenge lies in removing self-adhesive labels cleanly. Residual labels in the recycling process impacts both the quality and availability of recycled glass. Inadequate labelling technology results in up to 74% of unwanted material entering the recycling stream. Avery Dennison offers a self-adhesive solution that almost entirely eliminates label contamination in the glass recycling process, by separating cleanly from the glass cullets.

Key features – Clean separation of self-adhesive label from glass particles, enabling a clean glass recycling process

How it works The Avery Dennison Glass Recycling portfolio uses a unique GRX1 adhesive which ‘switches off’ during the glass bottle recycling process, to facilitate clean separation of the label from the glass cullets. Label fragment contamination drops to just 2% of the original label material (versus up to 74%), resulting in increased recycled glass quality and less material downcycled or going to landfill.

Select Solutions™

2020 Wine Service Programs When seeking brand differentiation, unique, pressuresensitive facestock materials can be the difference between your brand remaining on the shelf or being enjoyed by consumers. For new projects on unique materials, low volume rolls and custom widths are often crucial in helping manage inventory and cost. That’s why we’ve introduced the new EXACT and Ready Width services for several premium products in our Wine & Spirits portfolio, like the Black Collection and the Sensorial Range. The Ready Width service program allows you to purchase just one roll at a standard width and length. Our EXACT service allows you to order the exact roll width at a predefined length. This makes it easier for your business to kick-start smaller projects, especially for premium products like our Sensorial Range. Use Avery Dennison pressure-sensitive wine label materials and flexible service programs to your advantage.

Need your stock in a hurry? Ask about our new Express Indent service, a fixed rate 10 day air freight program designed to get you new materials faster!

Beer Can Cans are increasingly being used instead of bottles. In part, this is because cans are a more efficient packaging process, made more affordable with mobile canners and smaller scale canning lines. Amenable to PS labeling, cans offer a greater surface area than bottles for impactful branding. For creating look-at-me labels with eye-catching colors, standout imagery, unique shapes and surprising textures, nothing compares to PS labels, which offer shorter lead times, faster dispensing and smaller MOQs. They can be produced digitally for short runs or seasonal brews, and can make it easier for smaller beer brands to compete at the shelf through special printing techniques like foil accents, metallic colors and varnishes.

Key features – A broad portfolio offering white, clear, silver, and black options – Delivers black labels without white edges – Excellent printability including digital printing – Suitable for foiling, embossing and varnishing – Excellent service and minimum order quantities

Application Areas – Craft beer – Cider – Wine – Spirits

Sensorial Collection Label look is just one part of a consumer’s impression of a bottle. Communicating brand values properly means going further – how does a label feel? What’s the sound when it’s touched? Is there perhaps even scent? The Avery Dennison Sensorial Collection gives designers a broader toolset. Different label surfaces can be created using soft touch, textured or patterned papers to produce a premium, vintage or artisanal feel. Hand-picked trees are used to create wooden labels that recall the roots of nature with a delicate scent. Diverse label surfaces can be used to give consumers a subtle message when hearing the sound of a finger moving over the surface. And of course an outstanding visual impact is retained to engage the most dominant of all the senses. A wine, spirits and craft beer journey may always reach its zenith in taste, but Avery Dennison Sensorial materials help you to give the consumer a detailed and rewarding experience on the way.

Key features – Materials for any premium brand image – Engage all consumer senses – Deliver unique sensorial experiences to the customer – Excellent service and minimum order quantities – Winning label design collection: Silver Pencil Award 2017 and Graphis Silver Award 2017

Aqua Opaque™ and PLUS Maintaining visual impact in wet conditions is crucial for brand owners and designers. However, many papers find wet conditions challenging - bottle labels can look grey, with unattractive, uneven colouring or wrinkles. Aqua Opaque and PLUS technology allow you to use a wide range of paper facestock to achieve a premium and authentic look, while maintaining visual impact in wet conditions. Some of our uncoated paper face materials offer very good to excellent performance for wet opacity. Filmic facestocks offer ultimate performance for both opacity and wrinkle resistance. For all other facestocks, Aqua Opaque technology allows you to meet the 2-hour ice bucket test.

Key features Aqua Opaque technology helps to keep your label white, even in wet conditions. This ground breaking innovation resists the impact of moisture absorption and greying of the label for at least two hours. The new feature can be added to virtually any wine label. PLUS technology adds an underlaminate to a label that helps to reduce the bubbles and pleats caused by labels absorbing moisture in wet conditions. The underlaminate helps to maintain label shape, protecting it from deformation. PLUS technology also improves the die cutting process, making it a good solution for intricate label shapes.

Application areas – Wine – Craft beer

Cold Temperature When planning a labelling application involving cold temperatures, care is needed to ensure that labels adhere successfully during application, and also that they remain in place during the entire product lifecycle. The range of different application conditions that need to be considered includes the minimum application temperature, the service temperature, the surface to be labelled, and any add-on functionality or compliance needed (e.g., wash-off, compostable labels). The choice of cold-use adhesive is critically important for cold-temperature labelling. The application may involve anything from food in the freezer or chiller cabinet, to pharma plasma or blood bag labelling, through to outdoor labels in severe weather conditions (e.g., container labelling, drum labelling, oil can labelling). The best adhesive will depend on the precise circumstances. A product can be labelled in ambient (room temperature) conditions and then stored in a freezer, or vice versa. It is therefore critical to look at minimum application temperature and also service temperature. – Minimum application temperature is the lowest temperature recommended during labelling. – Service temperature is the range of recommended temperatures for storing a label that has already been applied to a surface. The label will remain on the packaging and function correctly while kept within this temperature range. Most of our adhesives are designed for application in ambient (+5ºC) conditions. We also offer a range of adhesives for more challenging conditions: deep-freeze (down to -20ºC) and chilled (between 0 to +8ºC, including the challenging +4ºC point). The service temperature for adhesives generally lies within the range -40ºC to +80ºC.

Coated Card Ready and frozen meals are becoming more prevalent on supermarket refrigerated shelves and ready meal delivery services. Traditionally these meals are packaged in a microwavable CPET or PP tray and wrapped in a cardboard sleeve, allowing for large graphics on the front and product information on the back. However, sleeves are often not fixed to the tray and can be slipped off on shelf, posing a risk of product tampering. Sleeves are also generally manually applied, making them a costly decoration technology. Pressure sensitive card labels provide the coverage of a traditional sleeve to deliver large graphics, with the added benefit of sticking directly to the food tray, protecting the product from sleeves being removed on shelf. Card labels can also be automatically applied which improves the overall packaging cost and productivity.

Key features – Available in 135, 150 and 180gsm coated card – Excellent print quality to provide attractive on-shelf appearance – Available in hotmelt, emulsion and removable – FSC certified facestocks

Application areas – Frozen ready meals in supermarkets or home delivery services – Refrigerated meat/fish/poultry trays

Clear Hotmelt Up to now, hotmelt adhesives haven’t been the best choice for chilled food labels because of their tendency to “yellow”, especially after exposure to ultraviolet light. As a result, food producers have often had to compromise between shelf-appeal and low-temperature adhesive performance. Our patented clear hotmelt S2045C adhesive solves that problem. It’s the first ultra-clear hotmelt adhesive that offers the tack and low-temperature performance of a conventional hotmelt adhesive, but without the yellowing. It’s available with both conformable polyethylene and rigid polypropylene films, and paired with our best-in-class TC7007 topcoat, performing well at higher conversion speeds. In all, it’s a straightforward and cost-effective way to achieve a great ‘no label’ look for chilled foods.

Key features – First general-purpose clear hotmelt – Improved shelf appeal – Greater clarity and printability – Lower total applied cost (TAC) – Suitable for use with PP clear labelling – Suitable for labelling of curved and contoured substrates with PE clear and white – Minimum application temperature 0°C

Application areas – Chilled food applications where shelf appeal is important – Applications that previously used conventional hotmelt – Other applications where high tack at lower temperatures is required

Cover-up Opaque High-opacity barrier coating on paper or film hides errors, and covers outdated information on packaging, labels and containers. No matter what the relabelling need, Avery Dennison’s Cover-up portfolio can make it right without the high cost of repackaging, with reduced harm to the environment. Almost every packaged product will need to have its labeling changed or adapted at some point in its life. It is crucial to ensure that any over-labelling is truly opaque. This makes the new labels fully legible and, especially for correction labels, ensures that overprinted data is hidden. Avery Dennison opaque label stocks offer label converters and their customers an unrivalled range of options in both paper and film, with permanent and removable adhesives. The range is a genuine one-stop shop for all correction applications, and the sheer quantity of choices available allows for highly creative solutions. Most paper or film products can be customised on demand to use a specific opaque colour - for example, an attractive coloured background on a clear bottle.

Key features – Opaque prime films – Opaque prime papers – Opaque VI front materials – A selection of standard colours and multiple opaque layers – Customising colours

Application areas – Correction labels – Translation labels – Promotional labels – Shipping and tracking labels

Silver Stand out in style When it comes to fast moving consumer goods, the success or failure of a brand can be determined largely by its products’ shelf appearance. With 90% of purchasing decisions based on impulse, product packaging plays a key role in grabbing consumer attention, interest and ultimately their buys. As consumers are normally drawn to beauty and reflective surfaces, turn heads with packaging that exudes luxury and premium quality. Silver packaging is a popular method of creating this desirable effect, however this can be expensive to achieve with metal containers or traditional techniques for silver decoration. To get around high cost of foil stamping and the inconvenience of metallic printing inks, Avery Dennison presents our Silver portfolio to create that premium look without comprising on performance, productivity or price. Our broad range of water-resistant silver facestocks are ideally suited for applications on premium foods, beers, beverages, wines, spirits as well as home and personal care products. Different applications will require a range of unique label material attributes depending on the type of packaging substrate and conditions.

Key features – Exceptionally bright and glossy polypropylene films for rigid packaging and bottles (e.g., PET, glass) – High-speed dispensing with rigid films – Premium silver gloss films for a superb ‘mirror effect’ – Metallised polyethylene films bring new levels of design flexibility to conformable applications – Metallised paper also available with matt finish – Laminated foils allow for excellent embossing – Bright metallised paper also available in gold

Wash Away and Dissolvables Wash Away Fasson WR3000N is a water removable adhesive specially designed to eliminate the critical problems associated with removing labels from re-usable containers. It allows labels to stay on firmly but can be easily and cleanly removed without leaving any sticky residue. Combining WR3000N with facestocks designd for tracking applications means that reusable containers such as crates, kegs and bins. can be tracked through the production process and have the label cleanly washed away ready for the next use.

Dissolvables When labels are removed from food containers before being washed, there’s a good chance adhesive residue will be left on the container. Bacteria can grow on this residue, creating the possibility of cross-contamination. Avery Dennison dissolvable label materials are virtually residue-free, disintegrating in seconds when immersed in water. Because dissolvable labels don’t need to be removed, they save on clean up time, making it possible for employees to invest more in other tasks.

Key features – Wash away can be easily and cleanly removed without leaving any sticky residue – Dissolvables disintegrate in water in seconds with slight agitation

Application areas – Wash Away: Inventory labels, tracking applications – Dissolvables: Inventory labels, container date code labels

Our digital materials portfolio supports all major digital labelling presses in different technology groups including HP Indigo, Xeikon, UV Inkjet, and water-based Inkjet. The portfolio includes newly developed UV Inkjet wine stocks that give maximum colour vibrancy, uniformity and text clarity. UV Inkjet and water-based Inkjet offer a number of performance and cost benefits compared with flexo, and in some cases with electrophotography. Digital Inkjet has the highest projected growth rate for digital label printing over the next five years.

Key features – Supports all major digital labelling presses and technologies – High quality printing on demand – Performance and cost benefits – Multiversioning – Rapidly growing market

Application areas – Mass customisation – Printing on demand – HP Indigo, Xeikon, UV Inkjet, water-based Inkjet

Select Solutions™

Lubricant and Oil Can Lubricant and oil cans pose major labelling challenges, thanks to oily, aggressive and possibly hazardous contents as well as textured container surfaces. All of these factors make adhesion difficult. Brand owners want bottles to attract consumers - often using high quality gold/silver labels - so pleating, bubbling, and scuffing must be avoided. Containers must also survive storage outside on forecourts, so water resistance is important. The Avery Dennison S277-based portfolio supports highspeed labelling, and labels can be applied immediately after blow molding of the containers - a point where surface energy is extremely low and adhesion is difficult. The materials also resist bubble formation from outgassing. The S477-based products have been developed to support label application on the filling line (hot-fill process). They allow containers to expand and contract during hot-filling without causing pleats and wrinkles.

Key features – Can be applied immediately after container production or on filling lines – Adhesives perform well on low energy surfaces – Avoids pleats and wrinkles from container expansion/contraction – Excellent service, including EXACT service on dedicated grades

Application areas – Lubricant bottles – Oil cans – Brake fluid containers – Cooling fluid containers – Other hot-fill applications

Tyre Tyres present unique labelling challenges for brands and label converters alike, whether creating marketing or product identification labels. A rough, low energy surface makes specialist labelling technology essential. Missing labels mean lost profits and a tyre often has to withstand very heavy handling/storage challenges long before it ever makes its way on to a car wheel. Avery Dennison offers the high performance labelling materials needed to make sure that labels look good and stay in position, whether applied to the tread or vulcanised along with the tyre. Extensive segment experience means we can ensure that productivity remains high throughout, from the conventional print converting phase all the way through to thermal transfer printing by end-users.

Key features – Excellent heat and abrasion resistance for vulcanised labels – Excellent thermal transfer printability where required – Rubber-friendly higher adhesive coat weights – Production-friendly gum patterns to eliminate bleeding – Application specific coat weights for winter/summer, hairy/shaven – Special silicone systems for easy automatic dispensing – Back-side siliconisation option to avoid labels sticking to liner

SGP = Special gum pattern depending on customer reel size. Gum patterns are added to enable adhesive free edges on the slit reels. This has very specific advantages on the converting process of the materials. Specifically the run speed and the pollution of the press are positively influenced. Avery Dennison can customize the gum patterns at 1000 sqm MOQ.

Heavy Industrial Applying tracking information onto raw materials such as metals, timber and stones can be done in many ways - including the use of hanging tags and adhesive labels. Some materials can be hot at the point when they need to be labelled, while others can be rough, dusty or oily. Conventional solutions include handwriting, riveting or welding plates onto parts. The Avery Dennison Heavy Industrial range allows label converters to offer a highly effective alternative labelling solution. It ensures traceability throughout the manufacturing process. Materials for conversion into both hanging tags and adhesive labels are available, covering different temperature ranges. Labels and hanging tags applied at ambient temperatures can use cost effective solutions based on polyolefines. For peak temperatures up to +220°C, Avery Dennison offers heat stabilised polyester films. Topcoated aluminium films, featuring high abrasion and solvent resistance for thermal transfer print, can be used at temperatures up to +550°C.

Key features – Productive labelling technology for raw material processors – Performs in extreme conditions – Barcodes can be applied very soon in the value chain – Eliminates manual marking of parts, automating track-and-trace – Tracks and traces inventory from initial manufacture to final delivery – Helps reduce material reworking costs – Complete portfolio covering a wide range of applications

Application areas – Metal processing – Building material industry – Timber industry – Manufacturing

Select Solutions™

TT Sensor Plus™ 2 Producers and purchasers of temperature-sensitive products, like pharmaceuticals, food and floral, have a vested interest to ensure the quality of their products, as well as to identify supply chain issues that may lead to compromised products. To address these needs, Avery Dennison offers the TT Sensor Plus™ 2 - a cost-effective, smart packaging solution that not only logs time and temperature, but offers a complete solution with multiple services such as cloud environment, application programming interface and individual calibration capabilities.

How it functions TT Sensor Plus 2 records the temperatures an item is exposed to throughout its supply chain journey. Based on the temperatures the product is exposed to, TT Sensor Plus 2 can indicate if the item is suitable for its intended use. The data is stored in a near field communication (NFC) chip and can be uploaded to a smartphone or computer at anytime, anywhere throughout the supply chain. The technology incorporates sensor functionality and temperature data logging capabilities in a cost effective packaging solution. When affixed to a product or container, the small, thin solution can be programmed by the user to record the temperature history of goods at defined intervals during shipment. Once a shipment reaches its destination, the temperature data can be reviewed and/or sent to the cloud with the easy-to-use TT Sensor Plus 2 mobile app. Each TT Sensor Plus 2 also contains a unique identifier (UID).

Desirable form factor With its built-in battery and NFC chip, the TT Sensor Plus 2 has a very desirable form factor. About one-third the size of a credit card, the TT Sensor Plus 2 can be placed on (or in) cartons of various sizes. This is especially attractive to the food, pharmaceutical, beverage and films industries.
