FIRST A350 XWB TAKES TO THE SKIES ON ITS MAIDEN FLIGHT A new chapter has opened in Airbus’ 43 year history as the first A350 XWB, the w orld’s most efficient large tw in-engined commercial aircraft, pow ered aloft this morning for its maiden flight at Blagnac in Toulouse, France at 10.00 hours local time. SAS INITIATES LONG HAUL FLEET RENEWAL PLAN SAS and Airbus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the order of 12 new aircraft. This marks the launch of SAS' long haul renew al plan including eight new A350-900 XWB, four new A330300 Enhanced and a total upgrade of passenger cabins on the A330/340-fleet. Read more >
Embraer launches “E2”, the second generation of E-Jets Embraer S.A. announces, today, the launch of the second generation of its E-Jets family of commercial aircraft, named the E-Jets E2 and comprising three new airplanes – E175-E2, E190-E2, and E195-E2. The E190-E2 is expected to enter service in the first half of 2018. The E195-E2 is slated to enter service in 2019 and the E175-E2 in 2020. Read more >
Baltic Ground Services develops its own environmentally friendly de-icing fluid Baltic Ground Services has announced the successful certification of a new glycerine-based Type I de-icing fluid Defrosol ADF. The utilized materials allow to offer the market a low er-priced eco-friendly alternative. Baltic Ground Services w ill become the first ground handling provider to develop, certificate and produce its ow n ecofriendly Type I deicing fluid in Europe.
