How Do You Spell "Luxury" at 30,000 Feet? SHOWER! March - 2021 When thinking of pure luxury, a picture of Hollywood stars and business moguls stepping out of a private jet, after returning from their holidays, invariably comes to mind. Comfortable seats, large 4k screens with a theatre surround sound and wonderful meals are luxury symbols we think of when we talk about private jets. But imagine your favorite star trying to freshen up and bending over a tiny sink for a brief face wash in a small lavatory. Where is a refreshing shower when you need it? Only larger private jets give you the space necessary to fit a real washroom that enhances the luxury of owning the plane. But even then, installing a shower is challenging and it requires a lot of skill. Cabin humidity at high altitudes is very low and creates almost desert-like conditions. The humidity rate in your office or home is between 30% and 60%, but an aircraft cabin can have 5% or less humidity. Long-haul flights are especially challenging. Air humidifiers have been installed into aircraft cabins in recent years to increase comfort and reduce fatigue and now showers are in constant demand in private jets.
