Night of a Thousand Stars, produced by Ms. Fritz Ann, is an entertainment showcase featuring top female illusionists and performers in South Florida. For 17 years, this annual event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for HIV/AIDS organizations in our community. The success of this fundraising event is due to the generous donations from you, the audience, business owners and corporate sponsors. After a ten year hiatus, Night of a Thousand Stars is returning and we know, through your support, this event will be a continued milestone and beneficial event to our community. All tips received this evening by our entertainers, bartenders and wait staff, are gladly donated to tonight’s benefactor. In addition, all proceeds from adult beverage sales are also donated. The benefactor of this year’s event will be The Pet Project for Pets, which is a charitable organization whose mission is to enable individuals who are financially challenged due to an illness, a disability or are aging (seniors), to help “KEEP THEIR PETS WITH THEM IN THEIR HOMES.” We keep pets out of the shelters or worse, by providing the essential needs to care for these pets while preserving the important healing animal/human bond. We hope you enjoy tonight’s showcase extravaganza and we thank you for your kind and generous contributions to tonight’s benefactor, The Pet Project for Pets.

Who Are The Pet Project’s Clients? The Pet Project for Pets currently has multiple services for our clients, such as the food bank, for which we do not charge a fee, and provide free vaccinations, heart worm and flea medications. The amount a client pays is based on objective numerical analysis of a client’s income and expenses. A prospective client’s low-income status is confirmed by having a cleint fill out an extensive financial profile, demonstrating their level of income and expenses. At intake, a client verifies their income by showing an intake staff person, their SSD/SSI check stub or bank statement with the SSD/SSI deposit on it, a paycheck stub, an affidavit that they are unemployed and have no other source of income, etc. Clients living at or below the poverty level, accoding to the Federal Poverty Guidelines, automatically receive a 90% subsidy (the highest subsidy we offer). While many people living with a terminal illness are, to one degree or another, in financial need, within the constraints of our budget, the level to which a client will be subsidized is based on their need, relative to others. A client’s subsidy is determined by analyzing their financial profile and allowing or disallowing certain expenses. Reasonable costs are allowed for housing, transportation, food, personal hygiene, etc. (For example, if a single person is paying rent or a mortgage of $1,200, we have a maximum allowance based on the areas cost of living, of $700, therefore $500 of that expense would be disallowed; however, if a family of 5 lived in the same apartment or house, the entire sum would be allowed. A client receives services in one of three (3) ways; (a) at cost to us (a significant savings), (b) a 90% subsidy, or (c) on a sliding fee scale somewhere between (a) and (b). In our notification package, a client is advised as to their subsidy for the food bank and veterinary services. The cost to the client is then determined by the food choices he or she makes, multiplied by the food subsidy factor. Before a client comes online, they sign and return a copy of the explanation of their subsidy and cost and pick-up schedule. From time to time, we server clients whose income on paper appears relatively high, but whose medical expenses consume a vast majority of their income. With this type of client profile, we do require verification of extraordinary medical expenses in the form of current and past medical bills. The Pet Project for Pets limits its services to low-income people living with a severaly disabling or terminal disease. The Pet Prokect provides equal opportunity for access to services for low-income people living with chronic and debilitating or life-threatening illnesses, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, veteran status, age, or sex.

WHO IS MS. FRITZ ANN?
INTRODUCING...
Ms. Fritz Ann Entertainer, bartender, and now a bar owner!
In the early 80’s, Ms. Fritz Ann produced an entertainment trio known as “The Extremes.” Touring throughout the midwest, The Extremes performed at “Little Jim’s” in Chicago. In 1997, he was awarded the Tiny Tina Humanitarian Award and was also the Miss Illusion Emeritus winner the same year. Night of a Thousand Stars has been on hiatus for several years and is now back! Helping people in our community that are less fortunate than most. Night of a Thousand Stars will now be a major contributor to The Pet Project for Pets. Ms. Fritz Ann, along with his partner, Mark (now married!), of 30 years, are dedicated to making things happen again in our community. Tonight’s success isn’t about us... It’s about you! Your contributions to this evening’s fundraising event are truly appreciated. THANK YOU!
